Congratulations! You're doing a fantastic job!

Was the thread the MFP Fitspiration thread? I loved that thread! It's a fantastic idea to start a new one, I'm in for the motivation.

Ooh, yes. I've never managed to do an entire month of challenge before, so going to make this my first! I'm currently ramping up to 10K (yet again), so I think I'm in for 70km for the month (~40 miles). I've two 10Ks planned this year - Lincoln in June and the Richmond Riverside run in October - but also looking to…

I wasn't active as a kid, or an adult really. Then started here in 2013, needing to lose 100lb. Lost 80 of those walking, mostly. Then discovered running. I lapsed on the logging, put on 40 of the 80lb I'd lost, but I did keep running. So there's that!

I like a boiled egg, small piece of extra mature cheddar or banana, for a more natural snack. But I'm also leaning heavily on the plethora of high-fibre cereal or cake bars at the moment. Fibre One have a nice range of cake squares. I really love the chocolate brownie. 5g of fibre for 90kcals. I'm also liking the Alpen…

No suggestions, but commenting to pick up any good podcast reccommendations. I'm a sucker for a good podcast.

That's a good point - I don't think I can find any of the foods I entered myself. Hmm.

I'm back again after most of a year away (when will I learn, eh?) and have also noticed that Sainsbury's in particular is patchy. It's especially noticeable with fresh foods (Sainsbury's salad tomatoes - a regular ingredient in my recipes - I can't find anywhere), but other staples are missing too.

It can be very hard. I lost a bit with MFP a few years ago, and then got so tired of logging. Over the next couple of years, even though I periodically put my 'head back round the door', it didn't stick and I regained 40lb of the 80lb I'd initially lost. I'm back now, and have started to lose that gain again. I'm still…

Yay! I get to link to my favourite MFP thread: MFP Fitspiration

I love most veggies (if cooked properly - yellow cabbage or brussels sprouts are just wrong), and other healthy foods. But I can't stand most nuts (apart from almonds and pistachios - and those only in moderation), and I can't eat melon. Love the stuff, but it makes me projectile vomit.

I've just been idly looking at training for half marathons (I'm no where near that yet. But some day...) Apparently, if you can comfortably run 8 miles, you'll be fine for a half. So yeah - go get it! Congrats!

It looks to be intermittent. I shut down the webpage, went back in and was able to search again. ETA - it is a known issue and the devs are looking into it. https://myfitnesspal.desk.com/customer/en/portal/articles/2965665-offline-error-trouble-with-search

Me! I lost almost 80lb back in 2013-14, but the weight has been creeping back, despite my trying to get back into it. I log back in around every 7-8 months for a month and then fall back off the wagon. I've gained back around 40lb of the initial 80lb I lost. :-( But I'm determined to stick at it. False starts are better…

Lincoln (GB) 10K in April. Am going to sign up for a Richmond Park 10K at the end of Feb to see what kind of time I'm putting in. I'm not much of a runner, but I keep going. If I get a good time in April (around 60m), I might even start looking at half marathons to train for.
-
As above - I've one main goal, but set myself smaller ones on the way. Current goal, to lose a stone (14lb). Don't forget those non-scale goals as well - fitting into a new (smaller) pair of trousers or shirt, or walking a longer distance. Along with my first weight goal, I've got a goal of getting back into my work…

I finally got my first run in of the new year. I hate these dark evenings! 06/01 9km 1:07:33 9/64km down.

Bearing in mind, I'm not a good runner - I completed my C25K three years ago, and have been pootling round 5k and 10k races since then. I'm not fast, nor consistent, but have probably completed about 15 races since 'graduating'. 1. At this moment in time, don't worry about pace. Work towards running the 5K at the end of…

Back after a hiatus, and raring to go. I've two 10k races planned this year so far, one in Feb and one in April, so gotta start training for those. Don't know what my running goals for this year are yet, but I do need to lose a hella lot of weight, so that's where I'm starting. Anyway, January challenge - two days per…

I assume it means "don't be someone else, do you" (be the best 'you' you can be or something)

Me! I lost almost 80lb in 2013-2014 with just calorie counting on MFP and exercise. SW: 238lb FW: 160lb I got within 20lb of goal (140lb) and fell off the wagon. I stopped logging (and logging in) and I ended up putting on half of what I'd lost over the next four years. I'm now back to pick back up what I started. While I…

Look at all you go! My legs have been hurting since the race on Saturday, especially the shins - I pushed too hard I think. I was prevaricating as to whether going out last night would be a good idea, but decided to take a slow one and see. I got there and back okay, but there's weird aches and pains all over. I think it's…

This is my fitspo: MFP Fitspiration Shame it's gone quiet recently.

Okay, in for September. I've a 10K on 20th October and am training for that. I started strongly with a 5K race yesterday = I was very slow, but I got round. I'm gonna try for 45 miles this month. That's 3 x 3 miles a week, plus ramping up the distance in order to get that 10K distance. 01/09 Richmond 5K: time 35:42

Oh my, that sounds amazing! I may have to make that this week for dinner.
-
I lightly grease a large piece of aluminium foil on a baking tray, add a layer of sliced mushrooms, add a hand full of prawns, sprinkle salt, pepper and died herbs (usually tarragon or dill leaves with salmon), repeat. Add a final layer of mushrooms, put two fillets of salmon on top and drizzle more herbs, pepper, lemon…

Hello Hannah from England. I'm Hannah from England too! I lost close to six stone with this app 4-5 years ago, but unfortunately put half of it back on - I'm working on taking that off again now. Don't forget - slow and steady wins the race. Welcome back - I'm sure you've got this.
-
Then just walk. To start with. I lost my first sixty or so pounds with just walking more (and making sure I was in a calorie deficit, of course.) I 'signed up' to walk to the next tube stop, meaning a mile, on the way into work, and walking the same back. Then I started going for short walks round a nearby park in my lunch…
-
Oh my, that looks lush!

Not knee pain, but I did find that my shin splints, which happened a lot when walking, stopped once I'd lost about 50lb.
