He's saying that you can't cure nicotine addiction by using nicotine. The trick is to starve the "monster".

Bless her little heart. Oh my gosh. She works so hard and gains weight. I hope she will take this to heart and change her eating habits. That's the saddest thing I ever heard.
-
I had to force myself in the beginning. I was tired and didn't wanna do it but I kept at it. Now I get all stiff and yucky feeling if I don't do it. It also really really helps me with stress relief. I love those endorphins!

You're not burning very many calories a day so I wouldn't worry too much. If you eat between 1200 and 1400 you should lose weight.
-
Another thing to consider is that your body is going to hold on to weight if it thinks you're starving it. If you haven't lost, bump up the calories. Don't keep doing the same thing if it's not working.
-
Sweetie, you're not eating enough for the exercise you do. No wonder you're hungry. You can't burn 1000 cals with exercise only and another 1200 just by living and eat 1400 and expect to not be hungry. You either need to eat more or exercise less.
-
I don't know what exercise I do that causes it but I have a bubble butt now. It's funny because mine used to just disappear when I would diet only. The right exercise makes it higher and rounder.

Great work you! How can we expect to work out effectively if we're not giving ourselves enough energy to do it?

Everyone starts somewhere. Just look at it as that woman can run now because she does it regularly and work on your own goals. I used to be way embarrassed during Zumba class. I'm not the best dancer in the world. Once I stopped worrying about what I looked like, I started to really work out. I still have some confidence…

She's with you because she loves you. My hubby's been going through some stuff because I've been getting more attention since my weight loss. The attention is nice, but I'd never leave hubby. We have fun together and I don't want anyone else.

Weight loss is fast but it's temporary. As soon as you begin eating carbs again, it will come right back plus some. You need to find a way of eating that you can maintain for the rest of your life.
-
You don't have to eat them, but I found I lost more consistently when I ate back most of them. It also increased my metabolism to eat and exercise. The good thing about this is I can indulge in stuff I like every now and then and I can go over my calorie count every now and then without gaining.

I had cheeseburgers and fries quite a bit. Ironically I blame them for my weight gain in the first place. Now I only have them maybe once every month or two. My problem wasn't so much what I ate but the amount of it I ate. I love food way too much and I have a big appetite so I can eat a lot. I still indulge every now and…

Mine is different every day because I do different things every day. I don't really pay much attention to that.
-
It's looking pretty balanced to me. You do burn a whole lot in exercise so if you find you don't lose weight, you might increase your calorie intake just a little. Good luck!
-
More fit than I was a year ago. Make sure you're doing some strength training every week. My body's not perfect and may never be but I can tell you I look better than I have in years.
-
I usually just check the database on MFP and try to find the closest thing I can for logging. It's not 100 % accurate but it's better than not logging at all.
-
You're lucky. I bet mine don't even way one pound apiece.
-
Are you getting some help with the drug use hon? Some friends of ours lost their 24 year old son to a drug overdose a little over a week ago. His memorial service yesterday was the most depressing thing I've been to. His parents are devastated and I just don't know how they're going to get over this.

If it makes you feel better, I was terrible Friday night and yesterday at lunch. When I say terrible I mean I went over by a lot. Today, I worked my butt off at the gym and lost all of the weight I had on me this morning.
-
Um goodie day?

Blinded by the Light. After all these years, I cringe when I hear it.
-
Are you an emotional eater? The reason I ask is you may be reacting to your "friend" being missing from your life. I hope you feel better as time passes. *hugs*

I usually go over on protein and under on carbs. Are you losing weight?
-
It's the sodium doll. There's no way you gained 3 pounds. It takes 3500 to gain one pound. Two days of diet, exercise, and water will take it all away. Relax!
-
Thank you for the information. You really can't have too many tools when it comes to this.
-
Have you tried doing a workout in the morning? Working out usually wakes up my metabolism pretty effectively. I'm hungry within an hour of moderate exercise. Also, yeah peanut butter is good. I usually only have half a serving on toast or half a bagel. It's filling and has the good fat in it.

I just read that on the quit online program. I can increase my exercise to every day now. I know my body can handle it. It is also an amazing way to relax me. I love those endorphins!
-
Last time I quit for a year and gained 25 pounds. Of course I was quitting as I watched my mother die of lung cancer. I started smoking again to get the weight off. Guess what? It took me 8 years to figure out how to do that. I smoked for 8 years until I finally "got the weight off". Now I still have about 5 pounds still…

Drink a lot of water, eat healthy, and work out tomorrow. Don't weigh for at least 2 days.
