Quoting this comment to bump it up. Excellent comment, as usual

For a 21 year old male, you're at a super healthy BMI. Besides, 1200 is too low for a man of your height. Are you at least eating your exercise calories back? Could your medication cause water retention? Definitely broach that with your doctor.

Ah...the eternal dilemma of minding your business vs showing someone that what they're doing is harmful
-
Amazing! You've done so well...be very proud of yourself

If you're not using a food scale, your logging is inaccurate. We are known to wildly underestimate portions.

Such a lovely comment. This is exactly how I felt. My baby was born tiny(5 lbs 15 oz), so nourishing her was the single most important thing for me. Besides, with all that added weight that I was carrying came an excellent milk supply. I just didn't want to do anything to affect it. I finally did wean at 1 year. 7 months…

I love this. Thanks so much for posting!

This is a very good point. OP, maybe take a look at intermittent fasting and see if that'll work for you. It's been a few hours since you posted, how's the rest of the day going?
-
One day doesn't matter in the bigger picture. You can still create enough of a deficit through the week so you come out ahead. I don't fret over daily goals as much as I do over weekly goals.
-
Agreed. I've never been successful completely eliminating some foods. Simply does not work for me. The "prohibition" makes moderation very difficult if I do get my hands on said food.
-
Eating like that constipates me almost immediately. Besides, low carb makes me want to eat my face off - so no. Just no.
-
If it makes you feel any better, Africans starving has more to do with supply issues and local corruption than it does to you wasting food. There's plenty of food around the world. So go ahead and trash the food but next time look up for a reliable recipe.

You can put in your stats and then add breastfeeding as a food everyday. This will give you an additional 500 calories. You can drop it to 200-300 calories once baby starts solids or you're not exclusively BF.

Love this attitude! You'll do great, I promise. The folks here will help you out with almost any questions you have. Just keep coming back and stick to the basics

Are you still breast feeding? If yes, that's probably the reason for the hunger. Pick healthy snacks and throw out junk.
-
Have you tried preparing your vegetables differently? Most root vegetables do very well in the oven.
-
Agreed. I could not cut any calories without noticing an immediate drop in supply.
-
Please get your blood tested. If you're vegetarian, you're almost definitely deficient in Vit B12. I'm deficient in Vit D3 because I'm brown skinned.

Millionth fitnessblender. Fitnessblender is all you need.

Can I eat my macros and yours too? I'm really hungry today. #kthx

20 lbs in 13 months is TOTALLY doable. Log, log, log and log some more. Weigh your food and exercise when you can.

Apple constipates me a LOT. I was asked to avoid it by my colorectal surgeon when I was trying to heal anal fissures.
-
Yup. The two cakes cancel each other out.

Take a fiber supplement, drink LOTS of water and eat your vegetables. Avoid rice, white bread, apples and unripe bananas.
-
You can bake up savory oatmeal-veggie muffins and eat a couple along with your soup.
-
Just remember that this happens to the best of us. Don't let it get to you. Move on and make better choices tomorrow!

I dunno if I'm happy that you have an answer or sad that you have PCOS. In any case, here's wishing you good health!

Some snack ideas for you - cottage cheese with pineapple, steamed edamame, dry fruit balls(this is an Indian thing and recipes are all over the web), smoothie(kale, spinach, banana, 1 tbsp peanut butter, 1 cup milk), oatmeal with fruit, apple with peanut butter. These are all very healthy and do not add too many calories.
-
This cracked me up way more than it should've...LOL!

Can you bring snacks along so you don't have to eat like crazy when you're outside? If you can find a subway, a 6 inch sandwich or a salad is a decent option.
