I have just read this whole thread and it has given me the best laugh. The Superhero Showdown is hilarious but what's even funnier are the people who just didn't get it. This is why I love the internet and forums. We're all so different and daft. Never change :flowerforyou:

alcohol stays sloshing around your system for at least 72 hours (a slimming club leader told me once). That and party snacks would show a high TEMPORARY gain. When I've been out drinking I wouldn't weigh myself till 3 days later - give everything a chance to settle down. I'm a once a week weigher though and on a Friday so…

Blimey that is an amazing difference. You have done so well. I wish I looked that much smaller. Congratulations :flowerforyou:
-
That's amazing. Well done :flowerforyou:

I love that. I am going to make this my mantra. Thank you :flowerforyou: Congratulations on your weight loss. Be proud. Be very proud xxx

I always say that I have no willpower but hubby tells me that I must have shed loads because I don't pig out all the time. Every day I resist stuffing my face and he knows how hard that is for me. It made me feel so much better about myself when he said that. I felt stronger and more able to carry on.
-
Absolutely! Me too. I would win the competition and still be looking for more. I just never seem to get full up. I don't think I even know how that feels.
-
Oh God yes. Food consumes my every waking thought and sometimes I dream about it too. I love it all, the healthy and the junk. After 3 years and 70lbs I can still eat till I'm almost sick.

Congratulations :flowerforyou: I don't know about being able to fit into the dress in that time but I do know that a wedding on a budget with only 6 months to plan can be every bit as good as the big fancy ones. My one was. My friends and family all chipped in making the cake and the food. There were sandwich making…

You recognised when you were full and stopped eating. That's got to be the best NSV ever. Our stomachs don't actually physically shrink. Its all to do with being satisfied with smaller amounts of food. Well done! It took me years to get to that point. You have done so well. I'm actually quite envious  :flowerforyou:

Think sounds more logical I reckon

My doc said that the elliptical is fine to use with arthritis but that cycling and swimming were the best. Basically, try it. If it hurts, stop.
-
Totally agree. Just enjoy

Depending on how big the portions are, I allow at least 1200 cals for a large cod and chips. It always best to over estimate. Enjoy :flowerforyou:

Oh that is hilarious. Thank you so much for sharing that. It did make me laugh. I haven't worn a thong for over 20 years (yes they have been around for that long - and longer) and I didn't like them then. Picking your undercrackers out of your bott every couple of seconds is not a good look
-
Yes I do. My knees kill me. I have learned to grit my teeth and carry on regardless. Obviously, if the pain is really really bad I stop what I'm doing. Lunges got easier the more I done. But jumping, I would say to avoid anything that high impact. Hope that helps :flowerforyou:

Thanks everyone. Finding my collar bone is even more exciting than when I found my knees and ankles
-
That's a massive NSV. Well done to you
-
I lost a whole shoe size once. I heard that women who have a coil fitted need that changed too if they lose loads of weight.
-
Yep  The fourth elliptical along is my favourite. Its the easiest one to power. The first one is nearly impossible

I hear you. My husband eats crap every day. He thinks he's being healthy if he's had a vegetarian pizza  He does no exercise but does have a manual job. He breaks all the rules. Only eating once a day, a huge meal of rubbish, at about 9.30pm and he's NEVER had a weight problem!!!! Grrrr

I use the Wii and have just got Exerbeat which is fantastic.

http://www.amazon.co.uk/s/ref=nb_sb_ss_i_0_17?url=search-alias%3Daps&field-keywords=10+minute+workout&sprefix=10+minute+workout Check these out. I have nearly all these dvd's and they are great. Each one is broken down into 10 minute segments. Good luck with your journey :flowerforyou:

Uh huh. That too
-
Love this. Very true. Well said :drinker:

Its not halloween we don't like, its trick or treaters. We Brits don't like people knocking at our doors without a prior appointment
-
I'm with you. Am in the UK and am sitting here in the dark waiting for them all to go home
-
I hear you. I have an over active social life too. I weigh myself on Friday mornings. That way I have at least 5 days to try and undo the damage.
-
Way too many times *sigh*. But nearly always lose the week after as long as I stick with it and don't go face first into a chocolate cake
-
If you give up you'll definately gain. If you stick with it you'll lose the weight eventually. Its a no brainer really isn't it? I've been going up and down that same 7lbs for over a year because of an over active social liife  Friends think I'm amazing that I haven't given up. That I still go to the gym 5 times a…
