  • Woohoo. That's the spirit. Keep on keeping on because the only alternative is to go back and you don't want that. I know how frustrating it is. I've been up and down the same half stone for over a year but I'm never going back to where I was so its head down and on we go :flowerforyou:
  • This is fact!! Its built into the mechanism. Only last week I had to have a word with mine. They refused to budge even though I knew they should. I stood there giving them enough time to change their minds but, no, they just stared right back. So I told them they were just being mean and arsey and put them back in the box.…
  • Its no-one else's business but yours how much you've lost. I know people are being nice when they ask this but it does get on my nerves too. I just smile and say "oh you know, slow but sure wins the race". Everyone expects us to be able to lose 5 stone in 3 weeks but it doesn't work like that. Its a long, arduous journey…
  • I suffer from cramp really bad. One night I was woken 14 times with the worst pain. I get it in my calves, thighs, toes and even ankles. No-one knows what causes them and there is no cure. How sucky is that? The only thing that has worked for me is quinine sulphate tablets that I get from the doctor. I rarely, if ever, get…
  • You have a fabulous attitude. You just know its your time don't you? Good luck :flowerforyou:
  • Losing inches is much better than numbers on the scale. Its a huge achievement. Congratulations. Scales are evil.
  • personally speaking the most I workout is 3 days in a row and then have a rest day. So this week, for example it'll be: gym sat and sun, rest today, gym tuesday, aqua aerobics weds and gym thursday, rest day Friday. This is because my knees and back are shot through years of being too heavy. Someone young and fit would be…
  • Oh absolutely. Totally agree. I couldn't leave it for a month. Too much damage can be done if you're doing something wrong. Weighing every day is only a problem if you're going to really stress and worry about the fluctuations I would imagine. I do worry so would prefer to do it on a weekly basis. But that doesn't stop me…
  • I exercise but only so I can eat more
  • Yes I can certainly see the logic behind that too. I have been told all my life "YOU SHOULD ONLY WEIGH ONCE A WEEK!!!!!" I got to thinking "what's the harm as long as you only take notice of it once a week?" I tried it for a couple of weeks and it was really interesting how it fluctuated day by day. However, I did find…
  • That's why you shouldn't weigh yourself every day. After a blow out, your weight will jump up like crazy. I call it shock weight  The best thing to do is get back on track and cut back a little every day with a little more exercise and weigh yourself once a week. You might still have gained but it won't be anything…
  • I went mad on Friday too. I was 1310 over my calories oopsie :embarassed: I loved it. It was a real fat fest. But I also know that I can make it up through the week as well. I have been known, however, to eat 2 days cals in one meal. :noway: and there is no coming back from that.
  • OOh I like the sound of that. Thanks for that
  • That's exactly what I do too. Having that to look forward to is the only thing that keeps me on track.
  • Vanity for sure. I seriously couldn't give a monkeys about my health. Never have done. I don't want to live to a grand old age but I would like to look good while I'm here
  • That's brilliant. I would love that to happen to me. Even though I eat healthy now and less of it etc etc, I still love the junk and I can still eat the amount I used to. It takes every ounce of willpower for me not to fall face first in a big pile of fried chicken and chips.
  • One meal every Friday. I can have whatever I like. But I do have to calorie count it and I do have to make up for it.
  • Wow that is a job well done. I would never have been that strong. Congratulations :flowerforyou:
  • Brilliant job. That must have been so hard. Whenever I face something like that, I say to myself "its easier to say no than to be fat"
  • You haven't failed until you stop trying. Start over as many times as you need too. :flowerforyou:
  • I've got the ipod shuffle. Its teeny and clips on your clothes. However, I have found that if you clip it on a part of your clothing that gets extra sweaty, it doesn't like it and switches off. That's what I found anyway.
  • That's what we're here for
  • Good luck and well done for making the first step on your journey. I agree that you shouldn't say anything to the family. As soon as you tell people that you're on a diet, they watch your every move waiting for you to fail. When you see them, you can bask in the glory of all the wonderful comments while you nonchalantly…
  • That sounds lovely. I might try that. Thanks :drinker:
  • In the 70's blck coffee was considered a "can't do without" diet aid - along with cigarettes and slimming pills. Hmmmmm times have changed a little. But the coffee is still ok :drinker:
  • Its about knowing your limitations as well. My nana can't eat potatoes without a ton of butter on them so she avoids them. I love plain boiled potatoes with nothing on so I can eat them. Peanut butter, on the other hand, is a whole other story
  • Potatoes are not bad for you. They are about 70 calories an ounce and help fill you up. However, if you dump a pile of butter on them or fry them in oil they will become bad for you. Its not the potato that's bad its what you do with it.
  • There you go. See. It can be done. Well done :flowerforyou:
  • Well said. Everything you just said is so true. Its too easy to make excuses. And yes, sometimes its really really hard to stick to a diet and exercise regime but its so much harder being fat. So, you choose - make excuses or do something about it.
  • I carried my fat picture around with me everywhere for 2 years. Now its on my computer screensaver, my digital photo frame and stuck to my dressing room mirror. If ever I get down about things not moving as fast as I want them to, I look at that and say "I am never going back there!"
