What an inspiration! Congrats on your determination - it shows in your great success!

Only one page so far! Come on, folks! I had a crap weekend (goodbye Chinese food craving, hello water retention) and I am here. I'm kicking my own *kitten* and back to good nutrition today. Zanne!! Wow - kicked some serious *kitten*! Congrats to everyone for sticking it out here and to those who have made goal.

I can't believe we're here first. Hang on - I gotta put my big girl pants on... Sw: 184.2 Week1: 181.3 Week2: 180.4 Week 3: 180.2 Week 4: 179.8 Week 5: 178 Week 6: 177 Week 7: 174.8 Week 8: 175 Week 9: 170.5 Week 10: 169.8 Week 11: 170.5 I have been up nearly 3 lbs most of the week. Some finally dropped yesterday and…

THIS!! I am a chef - do NOT eat that turkey! Any of you who thaw it on the countertop or in water are lucky as hell you have never gotten sick. My only guess as to why is because you likely overcook your bird as well. The only safe way to thaw something as large as a turkey is in the refrigerator for 2-4 days, then it must…

Saving for reference.

Sorry you are stressed - I hope it gets better!

I know there are long-timers on here who could answer this in more detail than me, but I'll offer my two cents. If the sugar you are getting is from fruits and not processed sweets, then it may be OK to ignore it. Ditto for protein if it is mostly lean. I know I have raised my macros for protein and fat, lowered my carbs…

Great week everyone! American Thanksgiving this week - let's not let one day derail us! I pledge to put those big girl pants on and prepare ahead for Thursday and balance any indulgences with extra workouts the rest of the week. I will be here Saturday to log whatever that scale says. I hope to see all of you here.

I am struggling with this a little, too. I agree with Knit that "No, thank you" should be all that is needed. With the people in my family it's all about having a beer in hand at all times and we have certainly had a lot of fun over the years that way, but I am "changing who I am" by not wanting to drink and treat myself.…

Did anyone else notice that I can't do math before my coffee? :) Zanne: I actually lowered my calories by 30 this past week to account for the weight I've lost and the lower burns from circuit vs running. I noticed that when you do custom goals, MFP doesn't automatically lower your calories as you lose weight. Maybe…

It's early - I'm sure others will check in. I wasn't expecting much this week after last week's big loss, but I got to the 160s! I'm beyond thrilled. Congrats to both of you and everyone else to come for staying dedicated to this! Sw: 184.2 CW: 169.8 Lost .7 this week, total of 14.2. Only 5.8 to go by Xmas!

Welcome back the couple of people who came back! Five weeks is a long time, so I bet we could all see some great success. If anyone is frustrated, seek out some advice here. Everyone is really helpful and I know that advice from this group is what got me on track. Good luck!

It is awesome to see the success this group has had! I can't wait to add up our total pounds lost as a group when we reach the end. Sw: 184.2 Week1: 181.3 Week2: 180.4 Week 3: 180.2 Week 4: 179.8 Week 5: 178 Week 6: 177 Week 7: 174.8 Week 8: 175 Week 9: 170.5 Lost 4.5 this week (wowzers - I was in serious disbelief!) Total…

This group has given me something to be accountable to when "myself" isn't enough. I hope we all start a new year's challenge, too. Welcome! -Jen

Yup, too cold. It's me and DVDs for the next several months. I hopped on my treadmill yesterday to see if the broken bolt would hold the belt tight enough so I could at least do some walking hill work. No go - it was scraping the side in a few seconds. I haven't found a repair company yet who will give a free estimate. I…

I log every day and am working out 5-7 days each week. I have gotten a lot of motivation from the people on my friends list - feel free to add me!

In the 'burbs of Cincinnati!

Serious, well-earned kudos to the three who have already met goal! That is amazing! Great work!

Amazing dedication with great results!! A huge congrats to you!

Congrats to everyone who had a great week! As I suspected, no loss for me this week, despite still having a deficit overall for the week. Last week was a big loss and hopefully next week will be, too. Sw: 184.2 Week1: 181.3 Week2: 180.4 Week 3: 180.2 Week 4: 179.8 Week 5: 178 Week 6: 177 Week 7: 174.8 Week 8: 175 Gained .2…

You guys all rock. I think it will be very easy for us to slowly fade away over the coming month, but I really don't want that to happen. The next 4-8 weeks is going to be busy and tough for all of us. Parties, treats, booze, stress, etc will probably lead to good weeks and bad weeks for us all. I may also end up in the…

That damn scale! I hate the thing. You are so right about how it can ruin how good you are feeling. I struggle with putting as much weight (no pun intended) on the tape measure as the scale, but it is a big mental obstacle for me, too. I've tried getting rid of my scale in the past and I always drug it out from its hiding…

Congratulations everyone - quite a few of you are really close to reaching goal already - fantastic!

I will be eager to see your post tomorrow! Best of luck - you will do wonderful!

Rushing to work early this morning, but I had to get this down before I left. Sw: 184.2 Week1: 181.3 Week2: 180.4 Week 3: 180.2 Week 4: 179.8 Week 5: 178 Week 6: 177 Week 7: 174.8 Lost 2.2 Total lost 9.4 Very happy week for me - can't wait to check in tonight after my long day at work and see everyone's successes!

Very true, along with both I mentioned. And I agree that they aren't enough to replace a meal, but if I pair it with something small, I can get by thanks to the added protein.
-
Ok, so apart from the person who is obviously just out to sell something.... Steer clear of the diet aisle or the breakfast aisle if you want the best bang for your buck. I love the brands Pure Protein (bars and prepared shakes) and UMP by Beverly International (powder to make your own shakes). They have very low carbs and…

I am normally a runner, but recently quit the gym, broke my treadmill and now it is cold outside. Since I hate the cold, decided to take a little break from running and try out the stack of Jillian DVD I bought at a used sale a while ago. I have been doing between 20-70 minutes of Jillian since Oct 2 and have lost more…

Congrats on making the decision to come here. I'm pretty new myself, so if you want some support, shoot me a friend request. Good luck and stay the course - it won't always be easy and you may stray a moment or a day, but stay the course! _jen

Thanks Terri - I agree with a shout out to everyone who is so supportive on here! This is a great place and a great group! I have been helped by several people here, so for those of you who had frustrating posts, message me and if I can help at all, I will. I'm pretty sure I have a screwed up relationship with weight loss,…
