Bump! This is the exact question I have. In the past 26 days, I have lost 6" over my body, but only about 2 pounds. I have been doing a variety of Jillian's circuit training DVDs using 3-5lb weights.
-
Yeah you killed it!! Nice job! Just a nice, easy jog for me today. Was a planned rest day from Jillian, but it was so pretty I had to get outdoors for a quick 2 miles.

In life, you are going to want to celebrate birthdays, so it's OK to do that. We shouldn't do anything now we can't do for life, right?! To MelonGG: keep it up - you will see result if you are diligent and stay the course. I am having to force myself to remember that, too, but it really is true. You'll get there! Woo hoo…

Sw: 184.2 Week1: 181.3 Week2: 180.4 Week 3: 180.2 Week 4: 179.8 Week 5: 178 Week 6: 177 Lost 1 Total lost 7.2 Happy to lose since the scale hadn't moved much all week. Big victory this week was measuring and learning I am 6" less over my body since starting Jillian stuff this month. 3" on my hips alone! Congrats to…

Ditto what she said! I, too, sweat like crazy when I run. I look like I just went for a swim in my clothes. I think I could handle 40s without much a problem, but 30s and below would be a tough mental obstacle. Anyone know a treadmill repair company? Lol...seriously, I just need to bite the bullet and call someone so I can…

I am missing running so much and am very proud of all of you who are enduring the elements. I hate cold. Hate Hate. Hate. My broken treadmill is staring at me from the corner of the basement and I need to find a repair company who wont' charge me the cost of a new treadmill to fix the bolt that broke when I tightened the…

If you open your diary and let us know your stats, it would be easier to help. The one thing that stood out for me is that you are working out for an hour, but only burning 300 calories. Something is off there...

If I didn't already have a stack of Jillian, I would put this on my list. In anticipation of winter, I stocked up on what I could find of hers at a used bookstore. I now have 7 of her DVDs and I hope that rotation will get me through winter until I can run outside again. Gotta get the treadmill fixed, too, so I can get…

Add away - 30 something mom myself and I'm logging every day.

Sw: 184.2 Week1: 181.3 Week2: 180.4 Week 3: 180.2 Week 4: 179.8 Week 5: 178 Lost 1.8 Total lost 6.2 Eating more, less cardio and less alcohol for me all week. I don't know if one or all of those changes made the difference, but I'm sticking with it since I finally saw a decent loss. Shout out and big thanks to Zanne54! :)…

It could totally be mental - I know I hate cold. Hate, hate. I had a slow run my last one because my head was playing the "cold hands, cold face" dialogue in my head. The mental challenge of running is often greater than the physical. But....could it be your shoes? I know mine are beyond worn and I am in serious need of a…

I am a results-driven girl, too. I log in here every single day and if I am having a day when I am disappointed, I head to the success stories board and start reading. I had many weeks in a row with almost no change and was fortunate to have a supportive member reach out to me and offer advice. I often look to those on…

I agree about 5 miles seeming to be some sort of threshold. I have hit 5 and am staying at this point for a while, too. Time is part of the problem, since work is revving up at the moment, but hitting hills that take the wind out of my sails seems to be another issue. I am really missing running this week and have been…

Red reddy- I am so excited for you! Great job on the 20 mile run and you absolutely earned that massage! I can't wait to hear about the race. Good luck!! Jen

As much as I find them cheesy and sometimes silly, I also find them motivating. <---- See :)

Wow! All of the early posters are doing so well - you are kicking some serious butt and are very inspiring! Sw: 184.2 Week1: 181.3 Week2: 180.4 Week 3: 180.2 Week 4: 179.8 Lost .4 Total lost 4.4 This week I had mentally prepared myself as best I could for no change or a gain since I started eating more the past three days.…

Hi Jupiter: I'm in the process of going from near-daily 3-4 mile runs to adding in some 5-6 mile runs. I am considering training for a half marathon in the spring, but the one in my city is notoriously hilly. So..we'll see! Days like today make me love being a runner - gorgeous, gorgeous, gorgeous! Can we keep fall…

I'm freaking out for you!! Congratulations!! That is a major accomplishment and I hope you are really proud of yourself because you absolutely earned the heck out of it!

You all are making me hungry for Thanksgiving dinner! Enjoy!
-
Great success - Congrats! I see we weigh very similar and I know you are a runner, too. I may have to copy your diary!

Congrats to everyone who is kicking some butt! Sw: 184.2 Week1: 181.3 Week2: 180.4 Week 3: 180.2 Lost .2 Total lost 4.0 And I thought I was frustrated last week. I cut back on cardio, added 30ds and ate bck more of my exercise calories and still bad results. I'm not happy at all. I've been doing this for 40 days and have…

I agree on the knees thing with 30ds. For some reason, running doesn't bother my knees, but lunges do. I just go very easy on those. Calories running come from endomondo, which uses gps and my height and weight. Research I have done seems to think it is accurate. I would like to buy a HRM, though. I hope you had a good…

Congrats on the awesome run! My favorite part was you meeting a cute man!

I am still clueless what to do. I am showing such slow progress for the amount of working out I do. I keep playing with my settings and changing from "lose 1 lb per week" to 2 lbs and also calculating my tdee over an over. I am losing inches and can feel a difference in my clothes and I know I should be happy about that -…

Unsalted butter, knowing to roll omelets, plus other food stuff (and general sarcastic awesomeness) I've seen you post about - we would totally be BFFs if we didn't live many, many miles apart.
-
Thank you for posting this Frankii - I am thrilled to see the results posted above by others. I need to stop being such a moron and just freakin' eat my exercise cals back (which is usually within 150-200 cals of TDEE-20%). I'm doing it! Yesterday's stress drinks had me reset today, so I might as well reset with this, too.
-
I agree with the knee thing. I run almost every day and it is no problem at all for my knees, but those lunges are a little painful. Not bad enough that the modification doesn't make it OK, but it is odd that I can run but not lunge!
-
@knitapeace - I think I am ready to challenge myself to something new, so thank you for the recommendation. I will try the app! I started 30DS a few days ago, so I am running a little less so I can squeeze it all in every day. Short runs are still runs and I'm really glad my arms don't have to come to the party because…

Just started day 1 yesterday with sweettart and my arms hurt like hell today! I'll take measurements tonight for a starting point. -jen

Everyone is kicking butt out there! I've had some gorgeous runs in the past week that to the awesome fall colors. This season is far too short. I still don't know if I am a winter runner - I will find out far too soon. @redredy9 - way to go on the long run! You seem ready for the race. I love that your recovery run is my…
