I lost about 30 pounds of pure fat in the first 4.5 months... scale has been bouncing around for the last 2 months, and I'm bound and determined that the downward trend will recommence this month.

I stopped caring about 2 months ago when I realized that 10 years ago, I weighed 20 lbs less and wear the same size that I do now... that was mind blowing for me... I lift weights now, and though I don't think that I've got 20 lbs more muscle than I did 10 years ago, I do know that my body is better proportioned and I'm…

yay for you! congrats :)

definitely not claiming to be a special snowflake, but due to my schedule i only work out muscle groups 1x every week... i have been doing this since the beginning (6 months ago) with the exception of adding additional at-home glute challenges starting in month 3. my results thus far:…

here's my progress ... i love how lifting weights has made me more feminine! http://www.myfitnesspal.com/topics/show/1309674-6-months-of-lifting-loving-my-body-recomp additional side photos on the 2nd page...

I aim for a 40/30/30 macros split on workout days, and a 34/33/33 split on non-workout days... my carb intake is usually limited to veggies/fruits/whole grains, though i do splurge on a cookie or fruit bar for dessert.... i don't eat crazy "clean" or "dirty", it's usually a normal mix of food that ranges from totally…

i'm 5'2 ... it takes time, but lifting weights has been worth it. good luck to you!

thanks, everyone! here's some side shots that show off what lifting has done to my glutes.... i was tempted to post another thread for these, but changed my mind... a bit too narcissistic, lol...

thanks, everyone! there are definitely times when my mojo is low, and looking at my comparison pics help keep me going forward... about my routine: Being a single working mother with no support from the father, I really don't have time during the work week to hit the gym. I do my weightlifting on Saturday and Sunday,…

1. I'm off my bp meds and high cholesterol meds (yay!) 2. I'm strong and sexy and developing a killer body (yay!) 3. I'm loving shopping and mirrors again (yay!)

Through my strength training program and macros/calories restrictions (started 6 months ago), I was able to get off hypertension meds after 3 months... I've had to take them for 5 years with readings as high as 175/105... I check my blood pressure religiously every morning and I'm usually around 115/70ish now... that's a…

I think 40 is a bit much, but that's my take. I have a friend that pays month to month at a local gym in a small town and it's 20 for him (awesome equipment, too)... Do you have a ymca near you? if so, they take into account your financial situation and will adjust fees accordingly (as long as you can provide proof of your…

5 months ago when I announced that I was going to seriously work on getting in shape, I had a ton of support from coworkers who wanted to do the same. They would shower me with ideas (cleanses, drinking herb-infused water, eating swiss cheese before a meal...) that were not in my game plan... As I did my calorie/macros…

I'm not focused on being skinny, I'm focused on being strong and healthy. Through watching food intake and lifting heavy I've been able to get off of my hypertension meds. That's huge for me.... I can also keep up with my 5 year old son at the park and take all the shopping bags through the parking lot and up the stairs to…

wishing you all the best! I'm a horrible correspondent and only a sometimes cheerleader, so I'm not great as a motivator... kudos to you for not only wanting to help yourself, but to also help others!

I admit that vanity is a motivator for me, and that's why I take photos... doing comparison photos from month to month has really kept me motivated... I *love* how my hourglass is popping into play now! http://www.myfitnesspal.com/topics/show/1247368-5-mnths-of-progress-w-comparison-photo Another motivating factor is my…

wow! All of you have brought a huge smile to my face  thanks so much for encouragement and praise! I have a goal of losing 2 more dress sizes, so I'm at the halfway point right now. I'm hoping that my heavy lifting and intense glute work combined with calorie/macros restrictions will lead me steadily there. keep…

Strong Curves by Bret Contreras... I've always had a fat @ss, now I have a phat @ss... I've got a few more days until I reach the end of Bret's 30 day glute challenge... will probably be posting before/after pics in a new thread once done... I am *amazed* by the difference in my tush... my guy is a total T&A guy, so he is…

Being a single working mother with no support from my 5 yr old's father, I really don't have time during the work week to hit the gym. I do my weightlifting on Saturday and Sunday, splitting a full body workout between the 2 days.... Saturdays are legs, traps, abs and arms while Sundays are chest, back and shoulders.... I…

here's a side by side comparison of me at the beginning of my body transformation journey, 3 months in and 5 months in... I cannot wait to see what 7 months will look like =) http://www.myfitnesspal.com/topics/show/1247368-5-mnths-of-progress-w-comparison-photo

thanks for all the positive encouragement, everyone!!! Y'all are awesome <3

I massage my guy with coconut oil... so not just "slathering", but rubbing it in. I honestly don't know if this and the skin tightening creams work for loose skin, but it makes for smell good, feel good skin :) seriously though, just keep hitting the gym and be patient... give it a year and you should see positive results.
-
3 years ago, my guy lost over 100 lbs with diet and cardio alone.... That left him with A Lot of loose skin... he's been lifting for a year now (and looks awesome), and that loose skin is almost non-existent. The stomach area is where he has the tiniest smidge of loose skin left, but it's not visibly noticeable. I feel it…
