  • Dig a little deeper. Ask someone in the office, that you think will give you an honest answer, why they ignore you. It could be something you do or(more likely) it's your perception. Good luck.
  • Welcome. Don't know how much you want to lose but make sure you aren't setting crazy goals. Also, especially at your age, don't forget to focus on strength and toning as much as weight. It's all a balancing act.
  • Don't think of it as a 'BAD DAY.' It was just a calorie/workout vacation. A vacation is something you do every so often to break up the monotony. ALL things in moderation.
  • We can't control other people, only how we react to them. You need to find a better motivation. The board is a cool idea but you've allowed yourself to be derailed by a totally outside influence. Ask yourself if you are really doing this for yourself. When you hit that point nothing will stop you. I do encourage you to…
  • The answer is.................you don't. I won't tell you you are at an acceptable weight because you don't believe that so my opinion is irrelevant. The reality is you can't make a permanent loss that quickly. You could take it off in probably two weeks if you really set your mind to it but not too long after that you…
  • In general, I don't think it's a bad thing. I will sometimes workout twice in a day (especially if I need to 'buy' some extra calories  ) just don't burn yourself out and remember it's good to mix things up from time to time.
  • I drew the crap lot in genetics too. Short, fat, small boned, big hips, and a smaller waist. (My brother got the height dang it but he didn't get the 'full head of hair' or the 'good teeth' gene. ) Been fighting it for years. Don't think I'll ever match the 'ideal' weight charts but I'm looking better. You can't…
  • Find something you like and do it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! It doesn't have to be the gym..........just keep moving. If you aren't using the membership, drop it and save the money. As for motivation, I find that the more I go the more I want to go but some people never reach that point. As for the other tips..they are spot on.…
  • Hang in there kids and ALWAYS take care of yourself. You're going to do great.
  • I've got a few more years under my belt than you do so listen up: He was a jerk before he met you. He was a jerk the night he came over and guess what??? He's still a jerk as I write this. You were just his most recent addition. Really, be grateful you found out so quickly and didn't waste any more of your time. What I'm…
  • Do what you need to do and ignore the pookie out of him. I've been doing this since August 2013. HE has eaten what he wanted the whole time. I still cook for him and never took it personally. I am doing this for ME. After seeing what I've done the last few months....guess who joined MFP last weekend? That said, my…
  • Thank you. I couldn't get it to post directly even though I used a hosting app.
  • I think a cheat day/meal is fine. If you don't you'll drive yourself nuts. !!!HOWEVER!!!!! a week is not long enough to change habits. At this point it isn't a cheat, you are already looking for excuses. Stay focused and strong. If you really need to be 'bad' then exercise your way into earning the bad day.
  • You can only control yourself, not what or who is around you. Do the best you can. I find that distraction is an excellent tool. When an urge hits I go do something: walk the dog, clean out a closet, or complete some task I'm probably dreading. Bottom line though is you have to find out what works for you.
  • Two months isn't a long time. I'll be happy to take off another 8 lbs. Ideally, I'd love to drop 16 by May but that's just crazy.
  • I should have this problem. Moderation in all things. I agree with WBB55. Slow down and don't let your hormone levels take a beating.
  • ALL things in moderation. Just keep track. If you try to deprive yourself all the time you'll just be miserable and won't be able to maintain. It's a lifestyle but it shouldn't be miserable. That said...as you progress it will get easier and you'll find yourself wanting that stuff less and less.
  • I can understand your trepidation. One, you are trying something new. Two, you are making a life change. Three, you will be in a noisy, unfamiliar place with lots of weird looking equipment that you have no idea how to operate. OK Deep breath. It's going to be just fine. First, remember all the new stuff you have done in…
  • Have it just count it. I have candy and a glass of champagne almost every night.
  • Tell her to stop. Inform staff. This could be a dangerous situation. It might be just someone innocently admiring you but I don't believe in that sort of thing. Be careful. Be VERY aware of your surroundings and ALWAYS, ALWAYS alert.
  • I cycle at the gym. I'm not a 'cyclist' it's just what I do for a workout, among other things. Fitness Pal has several intensity levels but nothing which corresponds MPH. Any ideas? To answer the original question, you can lose weight with almost any aerobic exercise. Finding something you like doing. Keep moving and have…
  • Could be several reasons. She may only be exercising while eating the way she always has. Another possibility is that she has a very low metabolism and while it will increase as she continues to exercise it was still slow in the beginning. You should also realize that this was very edited and time lapse was used for many…
  • I've taught dance and Zumba. I'm a certified instructor but honestly don't really like it. It's not really about dancing. Anyway, this is what I always told my students, "Find something you like. Keep moving and have a good time." I'll presume you are referring to ballet. No, you are NOT too heavy. I would be careful with…
  • Nothing wrong with being happy with yourself but there is always room for improvement. Actually, I think the same feeling kept me from dieting for a long time as well. It's like any other addiction though, when you decide it's going to be different, it will be. Until then nothing in the world can change it. Even after I…
  • Devil Drops. Nice smooth heat.
  • Thanks all. I've found that mixing it up at least once a week does best for me so I'm not too worried about a special occasion. I was curious as to how others handle it though. Even while I'm being 'naughty' I've found that I'm still conscious of what I'm consuming.
  • Have you had a BMI reading? Are your clothes fitting the same? It is VERY possible that you are building muscle which is more dense than fat.
  • Fitness Pal has been a god send for me. I can track things and enter my own recipes. I'm under most days but if I have a special day coming and know I want to be naughty I will work out hard that day and the day before. I get to be bad and still stay in range. Eat what you want, just not how much, or you will drive…
  • It can get that way. I was pretty obsessive in the beginning. :noway: Use quick tools and just enter the calories. It only tracks the calories but it's fast and easy.
