Is it bad to do multiple gym classes per day?

My gym offers some absolutely fantastic classes that I love. For the last two weeks I've been doing an hour long Zumba 5 days a week along with an hour of either a Bodys Works, Kickboxing, or Bootcamp class each day. I have also been doing strength training prior to these three days per week (Monday - legs, Wednesday - arms/back, Friday - abs, arms, chest). I also shoot for 1200-1400 calories per day.
I absolutely love these classes and they really keep me motivated and accountable. Can't slack when you've got 15 others in the room kicking *kitten*! I'm just concerned if they may be too much?

Working out multiple times per day isn't necessarily bad for you if you have the free time and your body can handle it. Just make sure that you do occasionally rest. Also your calories seem a bit low for all that exercise. Make sure you're eating plenty of protein so you maintain your strength.0

A lot of activity as fine as long as you're getting proper rest, not neglecting other areas of your life, and eating the calories to support it.
I'm no expert, but 1200-1400 calories does not seem to sufficient support two hours of group ex classes/day PLUS strength training. That would be undereating/overtraining for me, and I'd pay for it by being hungry, crabby, and totally un-fun to be around.0 -
You're probably fine now- but that cycle of work will indubitably take it's toll on you after several months. I would plan more rest days in there for longevity.
Also- that sounds like WAY not enough food.0 -
I used to do multiple workouts per day and I loved it and and my body showed the work I was putting in. I had energy for days and was healthy as could be until child numero dos came along and now demands more attention and time Enjoy this while it last!0

In general, I don't think it's a bad thing. I will sometimes workout twice in a day (especially if I need to 'buy' some extra calories  ) just don't burn yourself out and remember it's good to mix things up from time to time.0

I do at least two classes a day at least 5 days per week at the moment (mixture of pump, combat, attack, zumba) and I feel great :-) As far as I'm concerned my instructors are happy with my performance, etc. and that's good enough for me.0

Thanks for the insight guys, I will definitely try to up my calories as I keep going. So far haven't had any hunger pains or mood swings lately but they may come as I keep going.0
