291. I guess I'm more common than you are.

I used to have similar problems. I think slowing down is a good idea. I actually think that my pain (between shoulder blades) was due to swallowing air. Sounds goofy I know but I found several references to it on-line. This may be part of your problem too, especially if you are drinking water while running. Two things that…

That's an awesome result for a year's worth of hard work! Well done!

I agree with the others. Cut yourself some slack! You had a "break" over the weekend - now you just have to get back to it and try to plan to take it easier on the food next weekend. Don't beat yourself up over it. Give yourself credit for the days when you did well and stuck to the plan!

I agree, enjoy the summer!

I agree! To be honest, I'm surprised you had 60 lbs to lose. The half marathon is a great achievement. Enjoy your success and realize that the healthy feeling and the increased confidence is the real reward. Congratulations!

As other people have said, I'd get some good running shoes. Also, try running slower and shorter distances and gradually build up. Good luck!

That's excellent! Congratulations!!

Congratulations! A seven minute mile is awesome! :drinker: Take care that you don't push too hard at first. I'd advise running a little slower and gradually building up the distance before you try for speed.

Well done!

I eat the Instant Quaker Oats Maple and Brown Sugar pretty much every work day. Sometimes add some fruit. Obviously, I like it a lot. It's a quick and filling breakfast.

I'm not planning on getting a tattoo, but I agree. I think it's kinda sad that people are reluctant to have one with their partner's name.

My running shoes!

You're a runner now! Congratulations, you're looking great and you have a beautiful family!

As chachadiva150 suggested, the Couch to 5 K is great program and you have time to complete it before your race. My main advice would be to make sure you have a good pair of running shoes, take it slowly at the beginning and try to walk a mile or two on your "rest days" so that you don't stiffen up. As for what to eat,…

I agree. That's what I'd do.

Don't give up and, remember, the walking is MORE important than the jogging when you first start out. Keep at it and it will get easier. Congratulations for getting started! :flowerforyou:

Great news! Keep up the good work!

I live in Portland, Oregon (OK, I actually live just outside Portland). It's even worse than Seattle. Do yourselves a favor, forget I mentioned it.
