Braid it up and keep it moving....I hear braids keep longer.

Wow...I could have created this very same thread. I have lost a lot, but I still see the same old me from a year ago. I've had to get rid of a TON of clothes, and people tell me all the time how different I look. It just motivates me to keep going though. I have seen so many success stories here on MFP and I believe I will…
-
Uh-oh...she just went there. OP, you have lost 6 pounds in 2 weeks, that is great progress. I agree with firstsip....take measurements.
-
How does this end the thread?! I have seen nothing concrete one way or the other rather than generic mentions of personal preference. How can muscle gains during one workout session be significant enough to even be voided by cardio or vice versa?!
-
^^This....In any form...

  Wish I could get this thing framed!

Try Digifit. It's free and syncs with MFP. I just tried it out running and it's pretty cool. It does running, walking, hiking, biking, spinning...it's an all-in-one cardio app.

Depends on the lifts I am doing...if I am lifting heavy (70-75% of Max), there is no way to jump back into another set without allowing the muscles a little recovery time. To be effective, I take a minute, sometimes two depending on the activity.

I can't stop laughing at Kermit for some reason....
-
This made me LOL....probably the case though. Especially in the latter scenario.
-
Agreed...OP, seems like what you are doing is working fine. You'll just have to be very patient...it takes more time the closer you are to goal.
-
^^^^This times a million!! LOL@ the lifting Chipmunk gif

Hopefully you are doing some form of exercise even if you're not apart of a gym. A gym is not the only way to get fit..... you can focus on diet and still lose weight. Exercise whether at home, outside, or in a gym takes commitment, don't waste money on something until you decide to stick with it.

I play racquetball and I love it. Since losing weight, I have been in a couple tournaments here in Houston. Weightloss has definitely helped me move better and increased my endurance on the court!
-
What you're doing is already working. I would forgo the expense of a HRM.
-
I had the Dr. Dre active buds that I got as a gift. They made my iPhone go all wacky...it would activate Siri for no reason. Or place calls without pushing a button. I returned those headphones and with the credit I chose Boze earbuds.....they fit much better and have decent sound. I wouldnt pay for those either....they're…

One day will not derail your progress....start fresh and get back on track tomorrow.
-
Can't see your diary....How much many calories are you eating per day?
-
^^^^This. He should get moving and develop a good consistent workout routine. Add in the eating at a deficit and no HRM necessary.
-
I use Jefit...best out there. Has ready made routines or you can edit/create your own. Has pics of each exercise and video of proper technique. Look into that!
-
OP, make sure your shoes fit properly. Blisters form mainly by friction or rubbing. I put some powder in my shoes which helped when I had blisters, then eventually getting some properly fitted shoes eliminated the problem. Good luck.
-
This happens to me on days I do cross-fit...The routines are out of my norm and little to no rest leaves me feeling sick everytime. I agree, this shouldn't be something to strive for and hopefully you don't have this feeling every workout session.

At his age and with the health conditions is this device even necessary? Can he exert himself regularly enough to even warrant purchasing a device?
-
Disease contraction?!?!

You recently signed up and only went once...Sounds like you never had a routine to begin with. The gym scene isn't for everyone, sounds like that may not work for you. You have to go to develop your habit. I bring my workout clothes to work, so that I can change and go straight to the gym on days I am unable to go before…
-
How long did it take for you to run the 176 miles?!
-
As everyone else has said....Walk! Even if it's to the mailbox and back...it may seem futile, but you need to keep at it and be consistent. Try to "beat" what you did the day before. Also, focus on your diet, and you should start seeing results.
