Wow! Incredible progress!

I used to run about 25-30 miles a week. Running helped me create enough of a calorie deficit and I lost the bulk of my weight due to that. I've scaled back to focus on strength training, I still run for aerobic purposes, but about a 1/3 less than I did 6 months ago. Good luck to you!

Glad you asked because that is horrible advice.....you've got some pretty good feedback on here,so I won't beat a dead horse. But sounds like you were already on the right track before she made that ludicrous remark. Lift hard, run fast and good luck to you!

One thing I have seen other people do with there HRMs is that they do not remove the heart reader from the strap immediately after use. Failure to do this keeps the battery "on" and makes it run low faster.

Not necessarily...

They had one of these in Houston, and it is more fun based than worrying about completing in a certain time. People had teams, and costumes and most just stayed at the foam stations rolling around for a while..LOL. Glad you are deciding to do it..you will enjoy the race!

I go alone all the time...On lifting days I wish I had a partner. Just having someone to assist me in pushing myself to failure and not be worried about dropping weight on myself.

Joint popping or cracking is not usually a big deal, unless it is painful when it occurs. On the one hand, joints can generally make noise. Think about how many bones you have in your body (206), some of these joints will crack or make sounds, and it is usually nitric oxide leaving a joint capsule-the crack is a quick…

A lot of people ask this question....In short, with free weights you have to stabilize the weight in addition to lifting it, which involves a lot of other tiny muscles that you need to work. The Machines can't fully account for your body's range of motion and as a result you could lift with improper form increasing the…

My routine is the same...Before gym time I get all worked up, got my beats going, hyped knowing that I am about to go all in! After my workout when I get tired, stiff, and lethargic...LOL. Repeat cycle Monday - Saturday.....

And This. Working in quick sessions of lifting can prove beneficial. It takes strength as well as endurance to do any amount of distance running.

To me it makes a big difference. I constantly see my friends working out daily, it gets me in the mode to also make sure I get my workout in. In addition, the added inspiration of seeing people start where you are and go on to make amazing transformations to let you know that it can be done. This has made the biggest…

As everyone else said....No, you don't "need" to do exercise, but it also depends on what your goals are.
