I've always been take it or leave it with sodas and its been over a year since I last had one. Hard Candies, Mud Cake, Apple Pie, Mayo.

I hadn't thought of this and I'm always up for being allowed to eat a little more. Thanks for the suggestion.

The subject heading made me smile. That was my first grade teachers favorite phrase and it's stayed with me all these years. I feel that sometimes the rule with the internet is opposite 'if you can't say anything nasty, don't say anything at all.'

I think it's really important to listen to the people who know us well because they can see the changes in our bodies better then we can. Even when you're not losing weight on the scale, your body shape can be changing in a positive way with the change over to muscle. With the day to day you don't tend to notice that on…

Helga from Hey! Arnold. And ditto to the person who said roadrunner.

I got a heart rate monitor recently too and I'm often wondering if it's faulty because the numbers seem so much better then I expected. hehe. I just did 54 minutes of house work (mostly dusting and scrubbing which are on the more strenuous side) and got 301 calories. My stats are a little lower then yours but not by much.

That's interesting. I probably do eat in an eight hour window as I'm only really hungry after work. However I really lack energy in the mornings and wanted to eat breakfast in the hope that it would give me an earleir boost. There is zero benefit from eating breakfast. It's not necessary.

Thanks. I do want to invest in a heart rate monitor but probably won't be able to get one in the next few weeks or so and this gives me something to go on in the meantime.

Myfitnesspal asks the same questions but you can double your exercise per day and see no change in your calories since they're not added in until the exercise is logged.

I plateaued recently and considered dropping my calories back from 1470 to 1200. Instead I discovered calorie zig zagging. Before I started zig zagging I was so proud that I'd finally got my daily calorie intake consistent but in retrospect I think that was the problem. It's been a lot easier for me having a few days where…

I think fit people are happier. But you can be fit and still not described as 'thin'. I think sometimes people mix the two up in their minds. But as someone pointed out, how you feel about yourself can go a long way toward happiness.

I've been experimenting with calorie zig zagging. It's early days but I've seen my first real weight loss in months. I'd recommend trying that. Apart from anything it's fun. It means somedays you can have a little more and not worry so much and then somedays you have a little less.

Hey, I'm 24. Feel free to friend me. :)

I'm no professional but I would assume the weight is due to a build up in muscle which is a good thing. Muscle weighs more then fat but looks better and helps you lose weight in the long term. When you start something new and start building up muscle, you'll see your weight increase for that.
-
Congrats! I recently got to halfway too. You look great already!
-
The 1 pound you gained could have easily been muscle. Remember it weighs more then fat and it helps you burn calories, looks great and is a total positive.

I'm 24 too. Welcome! And feel free to friend me if you like. :)

I try not to have massive cheat days, unless it's a special occasion where it can't be avoided. Mostly I try to allow myself one day a week where I don't beat myself up if I go over my calories by a hundred or so. Generally it's just on the day one day of the week where I don't exercise and don't have those extra calories…

Yes, but are you outside all day? It's one thing living in a cold climate spending most time inside a heated building, it's another being outside in that climate for 9 hours a day.

I've been doing the '15 minutes workouts for dummies' DVD and really enjoying it. They have strength training workouts for arms, thighs, buns and abs. I really enjoy the arm training and I've seen real results in less then a month.

I mostly just want it to count calories. It's probably not really a need thing at all I just figured it could help.

Anyone?

It's an interesting question because a lot of butchers inject water into the meat to make it appear denser then it is. Half the time my meat ends up shrinking to almost half the size with a great deal of water and juice left in the pan that I don't consume.

Hi Jane. Would love to be friends. I'm a similar age (almost 25), started out a little lower in weight but not by much though at this point I haven't got a recent pregnancy for my excuse (it's a good one). I've sent a friend request. :) You should love the site. I've been on for six weeks and lost 16 pounds. I'm worried…

I've never been a big soda drinker, just occasionally as a treat. But I have cut out and miss juice. Once or twice a week I make a big fruit smoothie with frozen banana, yoghurt and a little juice to make it up to myself. It's mostly good things so I don't stress about it too much (certainly beats ice cream or other…

I have a treadmill and it always says I've burned more calories then MFP (factoring the same speed)
-
Have you considered logging the two exercises seperately. Putting 2 hours for walking at your speed and 2 hours of strength training? It will incorrectly inflate the time you spend working out but should help a bit with the calorie estimate.
