Honestly, I think there is some solid advice in this thread..and I did not read it to mean to just keep doing what you are doing because a lot of people were concerned about the total calories you consumed. I understand that some posters were more "blunt" then others....but overall I think everyone was trying to answer…

Just take it one day at a time....make sure you record all that you are eating and try to get some exercise in....

I have an ab video that I do every day that is 30 minutes. I really enjoy it.

Last Friday I felt really down...but I still went for a walk and then did an exercise video and afterwards, I did feel a ton better. Also...you may want to look at this article and see if doing some of the suggestions would help: http://www.psychalive.org/2010/07/how-to-be-happy-in-hard-times/

It is really hard to provide advice when only one person's perspective is known... How did you bring up counseling and is she viewing that as you telling her that there is something wrong with her? I also wonder if she isn't jealous of the "time" you are putting into your fitness more than anything. Have you asked her what…

Welcome to my neck of the woods. :)

I find the same thing with Popcorn...I have found people enter the Unpopped total which is skewed.

I do my own thing...mainly walking and core exercises at home. I'm going to look into the gym up the street when it gets a bit colder.

Here is the thing...anything you say you NEED, is going to control you and how you feel about yourself...and it is just going to be a vicious cycle. It is understandable to WANT someone to share your life with....but your identity and self worth should not be based on whether you have someone in your life or not.

I just downloaded the app. I am not a runner....I've been a bit scared since my brother had to have surgery on his knee due to running....but I am game to start..slowly.

This happened to me over the weekend...I was making great strides...and then....I gained some weight back. And although I would love to say it was my scale's fault...the fact is....I was definately eating more calorites then what were recorded. Unless you weigh everything and someone has done all the entry work for…

I think it is too simplistic to say it is all about calorie deficit....I would also look at the types of calories consumed. I know that my body functions better when I eat 100 calories of a fruit or vegetable versus 100 calories of candy. I tend not to respond to posts like that...it goes no where.

It's why I never discount looking at sizes smaller and larger at the thrift store. Each brand fits differently and since thrift stores are selling clothes that for the most part have been previously worn...you have to take into account shrinkage. So my range is size 4-size 12.

I've been right there!!! First thing....change the words you use to describe yourself, no one can love you enough if you don't first learn how to love and appreciate yourself. No one is perfect. NO ONE!! Second thing....stop using the word "need". Instead of "I need to" which sets you up to feel like a failure and also…

Interesting way to phrase it...I don't "hate" the gym...I just don't have any interest right now. I go for walks, I do yoga, I do workout videos.

Have you spoken to your doctor about this? Everyone is going to assume it has something to do with your food journal or your exercise routine....however it sounds like you have a food scale and you know how much you are burning so perhaps you need to figure out if there is something else going on.

I purchase all my jeans at a thrift store....I get to try all kind of brands and the price is typically $5-$7 (although some "brands" are pricier).

I am. :)

2 Pineapple spears.

Thanks...I will definately need to try that....I was not told to drink a full glass of water and I've only waited 30 minutes before eating. :)
-
Love it as a snack...always keep it in case there is a storm/electricity goes out.

I agree....which is why I just opened up my diary. I want people to keep me accountable as well. :)

Ok...so I was on my walk and this thought came to me. Why are you using the word skinny? Perhaps it is just me but Skinny (to me) implies that that there is something wrong with me now and if I could just lose weight I would be ok. It means that I am focused on the end number and every day that I am not closer to that…

You need to give yourself some GRACE and realize that the poor choices of your adult children are their issues and they need to take responsibility for themselves. It doesn't mean you stop caring, it means you recognize that your influence is limited and you can't fix things for them. It sounds to me like you are…

Hi all, I was diagnosed 2 years ago and I am finally stabilized (for now) at 112 Synthroid. Both my parents have hypothyroidism and I have hashimoto's. I've had 2 needle biopsies but thankfully both came back negative. Weight isn't my biggest issue...it's feeling tired all the time (even when I get enough sleep) and thus…

I used to hold on to clothes...until I discovered that I could buy items that fit me better and cost a LOT less at the local thrift store. Now I regularly purge my closet and give those items to friends or donate them. My mom always taught me that the clothes that you are not wearing that sit in your closet could be a…

None...I had plenty over labor day weekend.

I only shop at Thrift Stores...you can get some awesome clothes for really inexpensive prices. I never go to the mall anymore.

I'm 146, so it says I should be eating 1459 calories. I agree with the higher protein ratio. I do seem to lose more if I have more protein and less carbs in the mix.
