  • good luck with your journey, but I'm more of a beer drinker (haven't had wine in weeks or maybe months), and even with beer I usually only drink 1-2 pints when I'm at the pub, which is maybe once or twice a week. My problem isn't alcohol, it's take-out food and sweets!
  • Is it just me, or does anyone else see words like "detox" and "predestined" and just tune the rest out? Sorry but this looks exactly like another bro-science diet. There is some good stuff, like basically re-training yourself to sense when you're feeling full and stop eating, but a lot of it looks like downright hooey.
  • if.... - I was 2-3 inches taller - I weighed 15-20 pounds less - I had slimmer upper arms - I had no (or at least far, far less) visible cellulite - my thighs and hips were slimmer - I wore a (US) size 4 - my breasts were (about a cup size) larger and perkier - my butt was rounder in shape - my hands and feet were prettier…
  • As others have said, oatmeal is a great quick, filling, tasty breakfast. I use the quaker weight control instant oatmeals with milk and a tsp of brown sugar (they're not sweet enough for me). totals under 300 cals and keeps me full until lunch. I agree with RodaRose, you may need to get up earlier to reduce your rush.…
  • That's a relatively useless question, because people carry weight differently. I'm 5'3" and weigh 130 pounds and I'm currently a 9/10 in pants and shorts. I'd estimate that 90% of my excess fat is in my butt/hips/thighs. For people who carry more fat in their upper body, they might be 2-4 pants sizes smaller than me at the…
  • As others have said, wide-angle lens can distort the image (compared with how you see yourself in real life), plus most people don't know how to pose in front of a camera, but when you're in front of a mirror you can check your pose and correct it instantaneously to a more flattering angle. I find that I sometimes look in…
  • I bought $2 frames from a craft store and framed mine and my boyfriend's diplomas. They look great, so I have no clue how a shop could have screwed yours up.
  • Some days I think, "wow, I've got a nice stomach!" or "wow, I look so thin when I turn sideways!" and other days I think "oh damn I'm such a hambeast, people must be disgusted when I wear shorts or tight clothes." I think self-esteem and body image is always somewhat of a rollercoaster. I think it's normal.
  • As someone else said, spot-treatment is a red flag, but if your aim is to diminish the appearance of cellulite rather than reduce fat, there is some science behind the machine's vacuum-method. That said, as far as I can tell, the vacuum-suction is supposed to encourage circulation. Some experts do link increased…
  • either the booty or the legs pics - those are impressive! Most of your face pics are too myspace-angle-y for my taste.
  • For me, it's usually stress-related in that when I have a lot on my plate (pun intended), I tend to think, "well, I won't worry about my calories/exercise today, I've got too much else to worry about" and then I eat everything sweet/salty in the vicinity.
  • Speaking from experience: that last part is only if you have relatively long hair and you haven't squeezed/toweled it dry a bit.
  • Like everyone said, pick one time and stick with it. As others have said, I weigh myself first thing in the morning, naked. I usually weigh the least at that point because I haven't eaten or drunk anything in 8+ hours.
  • Twinsies! I can go all day eating healthy stuff, but once the sun goes down I want to eat everything in the apartment (mostly brownies and ice cream, though).
  • I think I might just be shameless, because mine is open to the public, and I eat all sorts of crap. I plan on having chick-fil-a tonight, which I've logged ahead of time :P
  • whoops! (It's actually 129 right now, but yeah)
  • That's ridiculous. I met my boyfriend five years ago, when we were both 18 in our first month of undergraduate college. We now live together, I'm in grad school and working and he's teaching high school. My sister met her SO in high school, he joined the military after they started dating and after he got out they got…
  • My calorie goal is 1200/day because I'm short and not very heavy (5'3" and 130 pounds). I can feel satisfied on 1200 calories or sometimes less if I'm eating a lot of veggies that day. However, that doesn't leave any room for sweets or snacks, so I rarely eat only 1200 - which is why I do a lot of cardio, so I can eat…
  • I just don't flirt. I'm terrible at conversation with people I don't know or don't know well. I also have *****y resting face.
  • I signed up for the first free box, then cancelled my subscription. I just wanted to try it. It was a lot of fun and excitement to get a bunch of surprise snacks in the mail, but most of them turned out to be A. over-hyped trail mix B. way, way too calorie dense for the flavor/nutrient content C. not very tasty Plus, it's…
  • [I already have an ugly personality, so no big loss for me there haha] You never receive an injury again, but you accidentally injure everyone you come in contact with - emotionally, physically, something - and it stays with them for the rest of their lives.
  • You win your first triathlon while your beloved wife is in the hospital giving birth to your first child. They both die due to complications while you accept your award. I wish I could eat whatever I want and not exercise, and still have a perfect body/health.
  • I'm pretty much with you, except my loss is closer to 5 pounds. I am on the 1200/day allotment as well, and it's tough. I tend to eat back most of my workout calories and go over on the days I don't do cardio (only by 100-200 calories, usually). I want to lose 15 more pounds to be at 115, but I know it'll be slow work.
  • What if the hot girl just doesn't go out a lot? If she doesn't go out as much as "average cute girl," she won't have as many opportunities to be hit on.
  • I'm actually really disappointed that they didn't, I don't think it would add too much to their calculations (though I wish they'd be upfront with what they did to calculate this stuff anyway), because height will always be a factor so they must have used something for height in their calculations. I'm 5'3" and it says I…
  • This was my reaction - I'm guessing it uses the average height for women, which is about 5'4" to 5'5."
  • The following was what I was going to post: Then I realized the site doesn't ask for a height measurement. It's probably over-estimating my height by about 1 to 2 inches since I'm 5'3", so I'm sure my guess is closer to accurate than the site's calculated measurement.
  • It's hard for me because I only had 20 pounds to lose to begin with, and once I started losing even a few pounds people started saying I'm getting too skinny. My boyfriend's mother commented on how she could feel my ribs when she hugged me this past weekend, but I'm only down 5 pounds and my ribs have always been…
  • Of course, as many have pointed out, it depends on where you work. That said, even if I could get away with it, I wouldn't. I've caught warts and ringworm and other nasty things from being barefoot and/or borrowing shoes, so I do not go barefoot outside of my own home or the grass in my yard. Plus I think feet are gross…
