I started in September. I've lost maybe 2 lbs in 2 and a half months. Actually, I haven't weighed myself in a couple of weeks because I got a bit depressed about it all and stopped tracking last week. This week I am trying hard to track again, even if I'm not quite sticking to my calorie goal. And I will step on the scale…

It seems to me that you either spend big money on a seriously good bra like Enell, or Shock Absorber or some of the others recommended here, or you double bra with cheaper ones that are a teensy bit tight. I'm a cheapskate, so I wear two sports bras. I like the Champion C9 from Target. I have a bunch of their cami bras,…

Many many MANY years ago, I used to swim competitively. I think what MORECHABLIS is saying is that this is the way you are taught to swim when you are REALLY taught to swim. It is the more efficient swimming stroke. It seems like it's the same or similar as what we were taught for competitive swimming. I think that's what…

Thanks! I was noodling around their site looking for answers, but didn't think to Google to find them. D'Oh.

One of my cats was spayed at 6 months of age, and since then she's really packed on the pounds - she's now 12.5 pounds. The other two were spayed at 2 months of age, and are both OK (one is 8.5 pounds, one is 10.5 pounds). I did read something about how after spaying they are more likely to put on weight, but I also think…

Everyone is doing so great!! Keep up the good work. @Ghlt4 - great time for your 5k! I bet in the actual race you'll surprise yourself and go faster! My CW is still 171.5, so I stayed the same again. Actually earlier in the week it was up, so at least it came back down to what it was. I'm hoping for a drop soon! It's…

If I make scrambled eggs at home, it goes in my tracker as 2 whole eggs, 1 tbspn of butter (or whatever I used). If someone else makes it, then it goes in as scrambled eggs and I guess on the quantity because that entry has oil or butter accounted for and I don't know exactly how much was used. If I'm at a restaurant, and…

Congratulations!! Very inspiring story. :drinker:

Amazing work!! Congratulations!

And why is Jeff Goldblum getting no love? He's got that smart nerdy thing going on, plus I think his voice is very yummy. :flowerforyou:

I wear "girlshorts". I guess the girlshorts have a slightly shorter leg than boyshorts, which tend to roll up on my thighs. Mine aren't seamless, but I was buying girlshorts made from modal from the Gap for a while. The modal seems to have enough wicking capabilities so it isn't like cotton that's going to get all sweaty,…

Thanks guys! My scale does easily switch between oz and grams - I don't mind which I use, but it seemed like I was having the same math issue with either. And as far as the 2.51 servings....yup, forgot to mention that I only recently found how to switch to a decimal when entering the serving size. Previously I had it set…

My plan is to think about what I really enjoy, and then enjoy that once, without any extra stuff. For example: One moderately sized slice of pumpkin pie vs. a giant slice of pumpkin pie plus a big serving of ice cream plus a second serving.

Congrats!!

I'm not married, so take this for what it's worth (not very much). I think looking at porn is not the same as having an affair with an actual live woman. Yes, you agreed not to have porn in your lives, but...he's a guy. You were away. Is it an addiction if he gave into temptation when you were gone, but not before? Or is…

CW: Still 171.5 (same as Monday).

First of all, there is no shame in walking part of a half marathon. If you do not feel well trained, you could plan to run/walk it. I trained to run/walk my first half marathon from absolutely nothing in 16 weeks. I do not necessarily recommend doing that, but I finished. Also, there are always going to be random bad runs.…

I used to love spending time with my family at Thanksgiving. Then we acquired some crazy step family and they kind of ruined it all for the rest of us. So. I understand avoiding craziness. I may skip it myself this year. But just because of the food? Meh. Go and just be mindful of what you put on your plate.

Mine's public. Even if I track an item of food or not, my body knows that I ate it. It's more important to me to keep my intake down to a moderate level than to worry what others think. But, being truthful, sometimes its the worry about what others will think that STOPS me stuffing my face, lol. Having the diary public at…

Yes, not so much for me but for one of my best friends who is between sizes right now (she's lost 75 lbs! Woot!). She was telling me she was fitting into a size 14, and I was like, huh? She's way bigger than me when I was in a 14. Then I realized she was talking about a 14W and I was talking about a regular 14. There does…

Great job workingoutinpa! Congrats! @Chevy - thanks for everything! This is a great idea, and I love the spreadsheet. OK, you asked for NSV's - here's mine. I've been doing some exercise 6 days a week for well over a month, even if that is only 20 minutes of walking. I'm hoping that this is a habit I can really stick to,…

It may be that what you gained was water weight from high sodium restaurant food. Try to get back on track, and see if your weight doesn't go back down again within a few days. Also, 1100 is a very low goal for calories. My goal is closer to the 1600 that you think is bad! To me that's a great day! I have tried and failed…

I hate having clothes that don't fit right. Treat yourself to a couple of pieces now, as people have already said. I'd buy a piece or two every time you drop a clothing size, and then gradually retire the biggest things. Mix the new things in with your old things, and it'll be a gradual change. Most clothing you can keep…

SW (Sept 2013): 173 CW: 171.5 I actually stuck to my MFP calorie goal religiously most of last week and dropped 2 lbs in 6 days (after dropping nothing in 34 days when I was kinda-sorta aiming for my goal but mostly going over by a couple hundred calories). Went back up another half a pound overnight after I overate a bit…

Ooh, this is where all the 5'7" women are! My goal is 140. Last time I was under 160, I was pretty happy, and thought I looked OK. Last time I was under 152 or so, I was very happy, and thought I looked good. I think under 145 I would be thrilled, but it's been so long since I've been that weight that I've forgotten what I…

I'm just switching out of my fivefingers, into something a bit more cushioned (Brooks PureConnect). I'm not sure if this will just be for the winter, or a permanent thing. We'll see. I haven't tried the Lontra. Anyway, I wanted to put in a plug for Injinji toe socks if you've never tried them. I used them in the cold…

It's not a problem I have, but Chinese medicine theory would say that you should eat "warming" foods, like ginger, onions and garlic. I do actually find that a gingery spicy soup really does warm me up for a long time. Alternatively...move to Florida?

I can't see the pics as they won't display at work, but I just want to commend you for your attitude! My mom refused to be in many photos, as she thought she looked disgusting. She died when I was 11, and seriously I had about 4 photos of her total to look back on when I was a teenager. I've since acquired a few more as…

You should look into eating vegan AND low carb. I went vegan to drop my cholesterol, did a ton of research and was surprised when my cholesterol went up. I had gone on carb overload, which raised my triglycerides, and from there I believe that in turn raised cholesterol. [As far as I understand, the body has to increase…

I definitely have a problem with finishing a whole box/packet/bag whatever of snacks once I start eating. The best thing I do is not to buy them in the first place, then if I'm going to binge it'll be on healthier food. But also, remember that gross feeling. It's not so much that you can never eat Pringles again, but next…
