Hi All, Just joined the group. Last couple years have been challenging and need to drop some weight. I would love to lose 50 pounds and regain some energy. I am tired all the time and haven't been exercising due largely to my work schedule. Just trying to get back on a healthy track and feel good about myself.

Hi, It's been a while since I've seen 40 and need to lose 40. I'll send you a friend request. :)

What a huge difference! I'm really struggling these days and it's very inspirational to see your success. Thanks for sharing and congratulations on your progress and dedication! GREAT job!

What are you thinking Nance? Weight loss? Exercise minutes for the month? Not sure how to put something like that together...would we need a group?

I am struggling with the same thing. What I will tell you is that muscle weighs more than fat. Since you have lost body fat, you have likely added lean muscle as well which - is probably why the scale isn't moving. Keep in mind that adding muscle will also speed up your matabolism. It's all good! Stay the course and try…

First of all, I am so very sorry for your pain. I can also tell you that his leaving had nothing to do with your weight. When you really love someone, they are there for you no matter what. It was just a stupid excuse to put the blame on you and to make you feel bad! Don't let this derail you! Keep it up....one of these…

Boy, so many choices...sweets, portions that are too large, wine....hmmmmm, wine it is.

Thanks!!!! I'll try that!

Hi, My husband has Fibromyalgia so I see first hand how difficult keeping active is with this disease. What little advice I can give you is to ease into anything slowly. With my husband, he tends to overdo things when he is having a good day and then pays for it for days with pain. His doctor had suggested to us working up…

When I stopped logging I started to put on weight again. It's a pain, I know. There are days that I don't want to be bothered, but then I lose track of what I ate and eat too much. It is such an effective tool. Just gotta do it!

My inspiration is my family...3 kids,a mother with Alzheimer's and a husband with fibromyalgia. I need to take better care of myself so I am around to take care of them.

Also try consignment and resale shops. You can sometimes get lucky and get some temporary replacements at much more affordable prices.

I read a great article on that the other day. If you're clothes are too big but you aren't ready to invest in new ones until you reach your ultimate goal, have the clothes that you own tailored. They even suggested a quick do it yourself to take the side seam in on each side and taper it down to the leg. They also…

Boy, that is a hard one...been there done that myself (years ago they are 17 and 14 now). With the weather getting warmer get a double stroller and take them for walks after you get home from work. Or, if you don't have a double stroller use a body pack to carry the smaller one and push the older one. The kids will likely…

Thanks, I needed that today!

Thank you! I have just begun this journey and whenever I start to feel like I can't go on I will think of you. You are an inspiration to us all!

Thanks everyone....think I'll hold off on the P90X for a while! :noway:

I'm curious as well. Haven't heard anything regarding the results.

My husband made a creole tonight but substituted the shrimp with Talapia and scallops. It was wonderful!

Me too! I just joined two weeks ago and would love more diet buddies to share the pain! LOL

Hi, I use 2% milk fat cheese (I just can't do that no fat cheese) and I am careful to stay within the serving limits. It's still hard because I LOVE cheese, but this way I don't totally deprive myself.

But to the original question, how does excess protein effect our weight loss efforts? My calories were in line today, but I was something like 34 grams over my target. Does any know what the impact of the excess protein?

I found that my body started to adjust and I didn't have to go quite so often.

Be confident! You'll do great!
