What types of tests do you have done if you don't mind me asking? My dad's cholesterol, sugar, blood pressure, and even stress tests were always good. I guess I just don't understand how nothing showed up until he almost died with two clogged arteries. :-(.

I have three kids at home. My youngest is 7 months right now. I also gained a little after my initial loss after delivery. I've had to really buckle down and watch what I eat. I'm also breastfeeding, so I'm careful to eat at least 1800 calories a day to support that. :)

I am also nursing, and have been stuck up until a couple weeks ago. I'm now eating the recommended minimum for nursing mothers (1800 cals), and the weight is starting to come off. My baby is 7 months old, and we have been supplementing with formula for a few months because he goes to daycare during the week, and I have…

I'm going to work towards 50! It will be a combination of walking and running, but mostly running. :)

When I was pregnant with my son, I had just lost a bunch of weight, and was worried about gaining too much during the pregnancy. I upped my calories by 300, which put me between 1800 and 1900. When I talked to my doctor, she stressed to me that I needed to be eating between 2000 and 2200 most days, so I did. I gained only…

I'm in a very similar situation. I lost a little over 30 lbs three years ago, and even did well keeping my weight gain healthy during my last pregnancy, and then I gained 15+ over the last year (due to stress, and other life situations). I'm also getting back in shape and restarting. This is week 2! :) You'll do it if…

Maybe I'm not understanding what you mean... I'm not saying that you will get 100% accurate data for calories burned from an HRM, but that a good one will give you pretty good information. I use mine to pay attention to my zones as well as to track calories burned. When I first started losing, I would burn a lot of…

Seems like there is a lot of negativity towards using an HRM to count calories burned, but I lost over 30 pounds over the course of 5 months using data from the HRM AND eating back those calories. So...

It sounds like it's along the same lines as calorie shifting, which I did with a lot of success! When I originally joined MFP, I lost around 30 pounds, but plateaued about half way. I started calorie shifting, and the weight started coming back off again. Your daily calories don't matter as much as your weekly goals. You…

Would love to add you!

Thank you! So far things are much better. We have been married for over 8 years, and together for 14 total. Things are better now than they've ever been. :) I'm mentally much more prepared to get back on track with my health and fitness than I have been in a while. I'm excited to be working on it again. Already down 2.6…

Um,... sorry if it's TMI, but I tore three ways, and they had to do stitches in two of the three tears. The one was pretty bad, and actually still gets sore if I'm especially active. I also stayed active during my pregnancy, but it was mainly walking and biking. :-)

I just recently had a baby (a week ago), so I've been out of commission since sometime in September, but I can't wait to get back to it. When I was running all the time, a typical easy run for me was between 9:30 and 10 min/mile. My race times were closer to 8:30-9 min/mile. For me, it took a long time to start enjoying…

I don't think there's enough time or room on this thread! lol I can't stand people who refuse to speed all the way up to the posted speed limit. This business of going 5mph slower is maddening. Of course, they finally find the accelerator when you try to pass them. Slowing way down BEFORE getting into the turn lane. It's…

Feeling sick, timing contractions, and wishing they would get more consistent so we could get this show on the road!

From February 2011 - August 2011, I went from 146 to 116lbs and from a size 12 to a size 4 jogging 3-5 times/week and eating sensibly. It is true that you will lose muscle mass if you do not fuel your body right. You have to make sure you're getting enough protein and healthy carbs. My energy increased a ton and by adding…

I am fair skinned with freckles, and I don't tan well. I used to try to tan in a tanning booth, but then my cousin died from melanoma, leaving behind his wife and two very little kids (4 and 6 I think). :-( They said he had about 2 years to live by the time he found it. I go in for a yearly check up now at the…

We have a Taylor scale that tells you BMI, BMR, Body Fat %, Water %, and weight of course. I was curious about how accurate the weight function was, so I got my 3 lb hand weights and put both of them on there, and it read 6.0 lbs exactly! Knowing this, it makes me annoyed to go to the doctor's office and see 3-5 lbs more…

I can't say whether or not photoshopping causes eating disorders, but I do think it contributes to an unhealthy self image. I can remember thinking that if I could just "look like that," people would like me more, or I'd like myself more. :-/ I was never the "skinny" girl, and when you're a teenager living at home, a lot…

Well, I can honstly say I've never watched an infomercial for them or anything, but I know a couple of people who are using the drops. What I don't understand, is why anyone thinks that the drops or shots have anything to do with it. They're eating a rediculously low amount of calories, so obviously they're losing weight.…

Yep, this is me! I don't wear it every single day, but I definitely wear it to work, usually to church, and for a night out of course. I just love playing around with it and feeling pretty and polished. Also, as others have stated, my eyelashes are pretty much non existent when I don't wear mascara. I also look a bit…

4 oz should be the raw weight. I think they usually figure to weigh 3 oz cooked weight for a serving. I usually just look at how many servings the package says and then weigh the entire cooked portion and divide it by the number of servings in the package. Then I know how much 1 serving should weigh.

I'm giving up wasting so much time on Facebook, and the internet in general. I'm going to commit to checking FB/MFP/e-mail once in the morning for no more than 10 minutes, and once at night for the same amount of time. I hope to be more productive, and to stop making the excuse of not having time for things. :-)

Posted this late last night, so I'm not sure it actually got read. Just thought it seemed like a great way to sneak in a work out in a time crunch.

After losing weight, my feet were bonier, and my bunions stuck out more, so it's actually more uncomfortable now. :-(

I can't make a blanket statement about "starvation mode" or "exercise calories," but from personal experience, I can say that for me, eating under 1500 calories a day resulted in a weight loss plateau. Guess what, I was running 5 days a week for 30 minutes, and strength training, so it wasn't from a lack of activity…

I LOVE they mayo with olive oil and cracked pepper. It's delicious!

Amazing progress! You look beautiful! Love your hair by the way!

I love the way you put this!

I don't know if anyone will see this so late in the thread, but I saw this today, and thought it was some great food for thought in this conversation. :-)…
