I would like to lose 8lbs but my real goal is to get below 20%bf, sitting at about 23.5% now...

Machines are great for really isolating certain muscles, but you work more muscles simultaneously with free weights. Think of all the extra effort you have to do to keep everything stabilized with free weights since you don't have a track or leverage point doing it for you.

Kettle bell swings are AMAZING for working your hamstrings with not that much weight at home. squats should already be working your quads really well. The only issue is staying challenged because typical home free weights are so light they won't be challenging for long and you won't get the results you're looking for…

Perfect Fit made by the Tone It Up girls, Karina and Katrina? Haven't tried it yet but heard super good things...

too many mirror selfies. My snapchat can only take so much.

I think the mistake that a lot of people make is that they get very excited to lose weight and then try to accomplish their lifestyle change overnight. Unfortunately a lifestyle change is meant to be permanent and takes a lot of practice to change. Getting healthy is a marathon, not a sprint. Don't put so much stress on…

So I generally don't like listening to Dr. Oz, but I just so happened to watch his show today and he talked about hulled barley (hull-less or whole barley). It's supposedly a great substitute for rice or pasta but leaves you feeling very full (I guess basically because it's all fiber), but it's the best of all barleys to…

Everyone's body is different and these differences effect the metabolism. Personally when I did low carb I didn't get the drop in energy that everyone described, but unfortunately the effect on me was that I was mentally very hazy and sluggish, moreover i didn't lose any weight. People always say that any diet that…

dittos x1000 Add me :D

**However, tell me a little about yourself before you add me, I feel weird adding complete strangers but not so guilty when it comes to acquaintances.

but quick note, with at home programs it's way better to get a HR monitor so you can properly calculate your calories! It's up to you and how intense you decide to do it that determines what you burn.

love love LOVE turbofire!!! I literally have never found a dvd program I have enjoyed until this. I did the original turbo jam, the firm, insanity, etc. and hated it but the intensity combined with the fun music in Turbofire is RIIIIGGGHHHTTTT up my alley. When I'm in a pinch I will do heavy intervals on an elliptical, but…

I've looked into some local dance classes and quite frankly can't afford the one or two that fit into my schedule. I've also done lots of interval variations on the elliptical which aren't bad, it's just that since it's such a controlled movement I need other forms of cardio to mix in on different days or I don't get…

I'm not that upset about CFA being anti-gay considering who they are, but I'm actually very upset about the mass amounts of people going out to support it. Yes they have a right to say they're against it, but I feel that most people going out for CFA Appreciation Day are doing it as an anti-gay act rather than a 1st…

We sound pretty similar! Add me if you'd like :D

Pro-Cheerleader! I'm looking to either audition for Cowboys, Jaguars, or Falcons next year.

Thank you, thank you, THANK YOU!!!!! If this were facebook I'd "like" x1000 and share. I hate it when people tell me that it's awful that I eat the entire egg.

hahaha, I'm a very awkward mix between Penny and Amy (I know there has to be an Amy lesbian joke in that somewhere, lol)

I don't suck in, I merely contract my abs. :) ...speaking of, I need to do a progress pic!
-
only 360 below? DON'T SWEAT IT! If you're off for one day it's no big deal, just take this time to plan out what you'll be eating tomorrow so you'll be on target the next few days :)
-
So I know I was very much non-existent last month due to vacation, weight gain, and a very general busy planning for the next year. Anyway! Ready to officially be back on track. 132.0 lbs this week :/

BUMP! must remember this :)

My reward would be becoming an Atlanta Falcons Cheerleader! Auditions in 4 weeks!!

HEY EVERYONE, LOOK AT WHAT I FOUND! http://fitnessblackbook.com/dieting_for_fat_loss/why-you-may-look-a-bit-fatter-when-first-losing-body-fat/

Oh no! I wasn't disregarding them, I tried the day off of diet but couldn't manage to just have one day and would end up having 2 or 3 breaking diet days. And actually, I thought of it from a new angle. I always thought I looked skinnier when I broke diet because of the metabolism spike, but now I'm thinking about it more…

Thanks guys! These comments will help me keep going :) I'll try not to be too disappointed with how these past two weeks have gone. and thanks for the article too, but to be honest I don't pay too much attention to the scale. What worried me was that I looked fatter and then having the scale confirm I wasn't losing, in…

I don't think it's skin. I can pinch more off of my stomach now than I could two weeks ago. Even if I'm not using an actual caliper or anything, it's enough to be able to tell with just my fingers. @freezerburn20 I believe I'm not losing muscle because of how consistent my weight is (even somewhat gaining about 0.3lbs per…

Now that I look at it, I guess I should've put it in the Recipes section... my bad guys, got a wee bit overexcited :)
