This is a great picture. You look awesome! :)

That's cool wbandel. I'm not so great at crochet (especially reading the patterns) but I try. I'm currently re-knitting the damn right glove because I had MAJOR tension issues and the right one ended up smaller than the left. Sooooo annoying.

I was so unsure about posting these that I sent them to my friend first and asked if I should, so thank you meganmason9, skinnyinnotime, bloodysore and Yanicka1 for being so kind. Seriously. :flowerforyou: bloodysore, I'm 5'6". At 174 lbs, that actually puts me a lot closer to an 'obese' bmi than a 'normal' one, so I'd…

Other than the fact that I am trying to lose weight, ^that. I love lifting. It makes me feel like a badass who could tackle a bear or something. Cardio bores the crap out of me, but it seems to really keep my blood pressure in check, which after going off bp medication, is really important. I noticed that when I…

Urgh. I've never posted these anywhere before so I'm a little nervous about it. :embarassed: My results are definitely not as impressive as others (I still have to lose 20 lbs just to get out of the 'overweight' category), but I keep on keepin' on and I am definitely progressing. I've been lifting seriously since about…

I probably still make that face.

I was at my sister's this summer and we were going through old photos. I found this one and I thought it was particularly relevant here. I was 7 or 8, I think.

Loving this thread! At 5'6"/174 lbs, I'm still on the chunky side and have a way to go, but if I get brave enough, I might be back with before/during pics.

I need to start a hat for my husband's grandma. She asked for one for xmas. I'm currently working on fingerless gloves for the kid.

For my birthday, I had a burger that was half ground beef, half ground bacon, fries dipped in ketchup with bacon chunks in it and a bacon brownie. So.....probably yes.

I think whoever initiated the date should pay. If it was a mutual decision, split the bill. That just seems fair (and like good manners) to me.

I have waist-length hair that I wash every day and it looks like crap. It's frizzy and damaged even though I don't use a blow dryer, curling iron or flat iron ever. But I HATE it when my hair feels dirty. It's oily and when I work out, I often sweat so much, the sweat is dripping off the ends of my hair (even when I braid…

What makes it even better is what it is. My 63 year old mom is sporting a violet Lantern Corps symbol on her wrist.

My husband, 18 year old daughter and I decided we're gonna do family tattoos. When my mom found out, she thought it was a great idea. My daughter told her, "Grandma, you should do it too!", and she shocked us by doing it. Her first one at the age of 63. I thought it was pretty awesome.

I only have 1 tiny one. I always planned on getting more when I lost weight. As for how it looks when you get old, I've personally always liked seeing old people with tattoos. I figure they've probably got good stories to tell.

I was never 'skinny' and am not really interested in being so. I keep a Wonder Woman magnet on the fridge for inspiration.

Welcome JustiL and psychwardmascot!

I still haven't been able to get into 'Flight Behavior' so I started 'Sacre Bleu' by Christopher Moore. Much more entertaining.

Thought of another one. Randy Couture. Yum. Also, I was discussing this thread with my 18 year old daughter. She has a thing for Tom Hiddleston, and I said he'd totally fit in this category. She disagreed. She thinks he's just sexy, not sexy-ugly. He is definitely not what I'd consider conventionally attractive (actually,…

Henry Rollins...yes, please. I also find Xzibit oddly appealing.

I actually still have a pair of shorts from about 20 years ago. They were what I wore at my smallest (150 lbs) and they were a size 13. I'm 173 lbs and can get them buttoned and zipped fairly easily but they're still too snug to wear comfortably and muffin-top is not cool. I recently tried on jeans at Target and fit into a…

<Gloves. Not because I care about calluses (already have them anyway), but my hands get really sweaty. I don't mind rough hands on a guy. I actually like it.

If I ever get any mail addressed to 'Willie Nelson', I'm abandoning my house. As for reality tv, my husband hates it all. Every time he sees a commercial for it, he flies into a complete rage and goes on about how crappy it is. I'm like, "Dude, you watch wrestling. People in glass houses and whatnot."
-
Yeah, this. Which is why I generally avoid photos.

Ugh. I HATE Andrea. Which sucks because in the comic, she's actually one of my favorite characters. Show Andrea is the worst. Also, Robert Kirkman is as bad as George RR Martin for killing off main characters.
-
The only other book by her that I've read was "Animal, Vegetable, Miracle", which I really enjoyed.
-
That's cool. I do understand the frustration. I've been stuck at the same weight for about 11 months. Although I recently realized that despite the fact the weight hasn't budged, I went from a size 12 to a 10. So there was progress, just very slow progress.
-
Dude, you've only been doing it for 5 weeks. That's really not that long. You said at the end of your first post you're seeing small changes. That's better than no changes.
-
Keep at it. It takes a lot longer to build muscle than it does to lose weight. It's not anywhere near as easy as most women seem to think it is.

I don't usually pay much attention to hands but soft hands and/or a weak handshake on a man are a no go for me. What I find sexiest (other than a great smile) is back/shoulders. I love watching my husband do pull ups. I told him to put a pull up bar in the bedroom. I'm pretty sure he thinks I'm kidding but I'm not.…
