Introductions!
They go here. Pretty handy, huh? I'm Sabrina. I'm a 34 year old Navy wife and mom of a teenager. She'll be 18 in Feb, which makes me kind of sad. I've been knitting for about 5 1/2 years. Been trying to figure out crochet for about 4. I started taking a spinning class in January and decided my reward for losing 50 lbs…

Finished objects (pictures)
Since we have a "What are you working on now?" thread, I figured we needed a place to post pictures of the finished product.

Xmas knitting/crochet?
Are you doing any knitting/crochet to give as gifts? My husbands grandmother asked for a red scarf (not sure what pattern I'm going to use yet) and I'm going to knit something for my mom (not sure on that either). My husbands cousin also asked for a Jayne hat, but I don't think he's knit-worthy. lol

When I lose the weight, I will make...
Ok, to be perfectly honest, part of the reason I don't make things for myself is that I dreaded thinking of all the yarn and time it would take to make something 2XL. So once I get down to my goal, I'd actually like to make some pretties for me. http://www.ravelry.com/patterns/library/demeter-camisole…

Do you knit/crochet less..
As it warms up? Also, am I the only one whose knitting/crocheting has been put on the back burner since they started working out?

What are you currently working on?
I'm working on a crocheted star blanket for my niece. I've been working on it for what seems like an eternity now.

Veteran's Day 5k NSV!
One of the things that finally got me off my *kitten* and trying to get in shape was that I wanted to do the MWR Bay Bridge run/walk. I knew I'd have to start working out to even walk the 4 miles. I started doing c25k in March and the run was in May. During those 2 months, I did nothing but complain about how much I hated…

5k (or more) runners/shoe question
My first 5k is in a month. 6 months ago, I went to a running store and got a good pair of running shoes. I only wear them for running and only do about 20-25 miles a week. I purchased a new pair already, but haven't started using them yet. Should I start breaking the new pair in or should the 6 month old ones (well 7 at 5k…

huge power outage in so cal...
Possibly lasting through tomorrow. Should I eat all the ice cream in my freezer? Discuss.

NSV I've waited over 18 years for!
This might be kind of a silly thing to be excited about but for the first time in the 18 1/2 years that we've been together, I weigh less than my husband. When we started dating, he was a scrawny 129 lb 17 year old and I was a healthy (but chubby) 165 lb 15 year old. We both gained weight over the years, but his was mostly…

"Onederland" a letdown?
My short term goal has been to get to "onederland" before going home on 7/8. Every time I start eating right and working out, going home destroys my efforts. I had hoped that being under 200 (which I haven't been in at LEAST a decade), would be the incentive I need to keep up with my healthy habits even when confronted…

Weird weight loss fears?
I've never had an issue with cellulite, but I'm kinda worried that I'll develop it as I lose weight. Does that even happen? Also, I have a really large rib cage which I'm worried is going to look strange after weight loss. Obviously this isn't going to stop me from trying to lose weight, because the main goal here is to be…

NSV - I didn't die.
My husband and I signed up for the MWR Bay Bridge run/walk, which happens on May 15th. I'm definitely walking it as I've only been doing c25k for 6 weeks and I'm not ready for a 4 mile run. Yet. I'm not nervous about a 4 mile walk. That's easy enough. The thing that makes me nervous is the incline up the bridge. There are…

Motivational clothes?
Do you have a specific piece of clothing (or more than one) that helps motivate you? My birthday was last week and my daughter got me a Hunger Games t-shirt. I tried it on and it's REALLY snug (pic in my profile). It looks ok, but it's definitely tighter than I feel comfortable wearing yet. I really wanna hurry up and lose…

Military peeps looking for an HRM...
Don't forget to check your Exchange! I almost bought a Polar FT4 at Target for $93.99 this weekend. After tax, it would have been almost $100. I decided to check online and see if I could find it cheaper. I happened to be at the base today and decided to look at the NEX. They had it for $69.99 and the Polar FT7 for $89.99.

Driver's license questions?
How far off is your weight? Are you over or under? When you reach your goal weight, do you plan on getting a new one? I just realized that I'm 11 lbs UNDER what it says on my license. Interestingly enough, I'm 11 lbs OVER what it says on my military ID. I don't think I'll get a new one when I reach my goal. It'll be a good…

Is your family on board?
If you're making your family eat better too, are they ok with it? My husband doesn't have too much of a problem with it (he hates it when I cook fish though). He has to stay in shape for his job (military) and has said that it's a lot harder to do now that he's in his mid-30s. He used to be able to eat/drink whatever he…

Got my scale batteries back...
I had to beg my husband for them and promise that I wouldn't get discouraged if I hadn't lost any weight. I also had to promise that I'd only weigh myself once and give the batteries back when he gets home. I started this 5 1/2 weeks ago but took almost 2 weeks off while my sister was here. I didn't work out and we went…
