Height: 5'6" Weight: 173 How long youve been lifting: About 6 months Times per week: 5 Split routine or full body: Split 1 REP MAX Bench: 130 My goal is to get to where I can comfortably bench 150. Deadlift/Squat: Never checked 1RM, but I do 110 lbs for 5 sets x 12 reps. Which I know means I can lift more than that but I…

Last night I read "*kitten* My Dad Says" by Justin Halpern. Was pretty amusing and quick (took less than 2 hours to read). I'm currently reading 'Lover Reborn' by JR Ward (the writing annoys the crap out of me but the story keeps me interested) and 'Flight Behavior' by Barbara Kingsolver (having trouble getting into it).

Doesn't sound stupid to me. I've been with my husband since I was 15. In January, we will have been together for 20 years. As for the OP, I'll tell you the same thing I'd tell my 18 year old daughter. I know being dumped sucks, but don't waste your time wanting someone who doesn't want you. Move on.

You can so do it! I had never been able to run more than 1/4 mile at a time, even when I was a teenager. I was obese pretty much my whole adult life. In March of last year, I started doing c25k. I did two rounds of it and 8 months after I started, I ran my first 5k in just over 34 minutes. Since March of last year I've…

That's what my calves looked like after losing 60 lbs and BEFORE I started lifting weights. Today was leg day and I did calf raises. Because I actually want them to be more muscular. The only time they bother me is when I can't fit into a pair of boots I like. Other than that, I'll be able to stomp some zombie heads in…

I ate at 2, did the whole food coma thing until six, ate a slice of chocolate chip pecan pie (finally had some room for it), now I'm sitting in my recliner, reading and boozing it up.

I LOVE Margaret Atwood. I have a signed copy of The Handmaid's Tale on my keepers shelf.

Now you know two. Made me go "wtf?" Very strange book. I didn't love or hate it but it certainly stuck with me. I have a shelf full of favorite books. If i liked it enough to read it more than once, it goes on the 'keepers' shelf. Some books on there are The Stand by Stephen King, Pillars of the Earth by Ken Follet,…

Awesome job! I had a jeans nsv this week too. Despite having been stuck in the 173-179 range for the last 11 months (very frustrating), ive apparently gone from a size 12 to a 10. I had to try on 3 different pairs to be sure it wasn't a fluke. Lol

I'm knitting for my mom and grandma. I have to love you an awful lot to knit you something that takes serious time/effort. My husband's cousin asked if I'd knit him a Jayne hat from Firefly but I don't like him enough. Last year I did baskets with homemade caramel apple jam, hot chocolate mix, marshmallows and knit xmas…

I love this post! You look fantastic! I've been stuck at the same weight for almost a year (it fluctuates from 173-179). It's pretty frustrating but a couple days ago I was trying on pants and realized that even though the weight hasn't changed, I went from a 12 to a 10. So I keep on keepin' on. Also, I have that same…

This made me LOL. Hard. Then I had to read it to my kid. She laughed too.

I used to eat Nestle Quik with a spoon. Then I started trying to be less people.

That's what I was thinking about. My iron levels ARE a bit low. Maybe I need to drink more chocolate milk. :drinker:

I've recently STARTED eating Pop Tarts. I never really cared for them until I got my daughter some of the holiday flavors to try. Gingerbread and Pumpkin Pie. They are so good that I've taken to having one with a cup of decaf coffee in the evening. I'll be sad when the holidays are over.

Your mom is definitely wrong. After being obese pretty much all my adult life, I'm now (at age 35) the same size I was at 18. I'm actually a lot fitter than I was then though.

I've never much cared for that phrase. Probably because I've always been more interested in being strong than skinny (also because I've eaten bacon).

I definitely worry about this. I think, for me, it has to be about more than just the weight. I set out to lose 100 lbs (main goal was to get off bp meds though). I lost 60 lbs from March 2011-Dec. 2011. Haven't really lost anything since then. For the last 11 months, my weight has stuck between 173-179. If it were just…

I agree 100%. I started out with 30DS and I was so out of shape, I only got through 12 minutes (using 3 lb weights) and almost threw up. I lost all 60 lbs doing 30DS and c25k. So the strength/not strength debate aside, it is an effective workout up to a certain point. I don't regret starting out with it.

I have both of those DVDs. BFBM is pretty much all cardio. NMTZ uses weights (small ones but still weights). As far as whether or not it "counts", I guess that depends on what your goals are. I do it when I'm taking a break from serious strength training (like recently when I was having tendon problems with my wrist) and…

That. Except I only do it once a week. Also, that gif made me think of QWOP (which, now that I think about it, may be exactly what the dude was going for). http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EmcMG4uxiHk

Mmmm, choco-o-diles. When I was visiting my brother in Louisiana a couple years ago, I mentioned them. He'd never heard of them but wanted to try one, so we went all over looking for them. Never found any. When I got back to CA, I found out they only make them on the west coast. So when we were in Sacramento visiting…

I agree. My husband and I have been together almost 20 years and it's the same thing here.

Gone horseback riding. When my husband and I were on an anniversary trip, I wanted to. Then I found out the weight limit was 200 lbs. It's kind of a kick in the balls to find out you might break a horse.

I'm not any happier or more confident because I actually had no problems with that in the first place. The biggest changes are after 10 years, I no longer have to take medication to control my blood pressure or acid reflux. It's still weird just being able to go to bed at night without having to worry about remembering to…

I started doing c25k in March of last year. I hated it. Since then, I've lost 61 lbs, done 2 5Ks, 2 4 mile bridge runs and a half marathon. I still hate running. Why do I keep doing it? Because it's a way of challenging myself. I stayed obese my whole adult life by avoiding doing things I hated (I pretty much hate all…

Exactly that. And not in a "Woe is me! I'm so hideous!" way. Some people are beautiful, some people aren't. That's life. I'm just rather average looking. Doesn't bother me.

I want to get under 170 by the time we go home for xmas next month. I'm at 173 now so i've got about 4 weeks to lose at least 4 lbs.

Zevia and Blue Sky Free are both made with Stevia. Some are pretty good, some are downright awful. I like the Zevia cream soda and the Blue Sky Free cherry vanilla cream.
