  • I'm very stoked about the upcoming weekend. I am going to a music festival with my daughter, second child (who is transgender non-binary, which is why I refer to them as "second child") and my granddaughter. I am afraid that the only food that's going to be available is going to be food truck, so it'll be a challenge to…
  • does anyone else wake up super early when you are eating healthy and getting the right amount of exercise. In my head, I know getting up early gets you set up for a productive day, but as a night owl its very annoying to look at the clock and see 5am and know you're not going back to sleep... if this is you, how do you…
  • Hi Everyone, I'd love to hear how you're doing on your weight loss and on reaching your goals. @kattmcd did you get to ride any roller coasters this summer? @dianastepheny, go on any hikes? I, unfortunately, haven't reached my goals yet, but there's still time to get there. I hope to be under 200 lbs by New Years and then…
  • I'm going to make this my mantra! Everyday is a new opportunity to start again or keep going. Thanks for the reminder.
  • I love this! Thanks for sharing it
  • Hi Everyone, I'm so sorry for not following through on my intention to lose weight this year. I started a new job and then my dad died and then I lost the new job, so things have been up and down for me, preventing me from finding my focus and motivation, and I've ended up gaining about 20 lbs since March. But, I'm turning…
  • Hi Everyone, Sorry for being MIA the last month or so. I've been heavy into job hunting and let it distract me from my goals. I'm back today, ready to recommit. I hope everything is going well for all of you who have joined the group. We still have 3/4 of the year left to achieve our goals. Mine is to lose 60 lbs this year…
  • 1/22/2023 I did not make any progress over the last 2 weeks and I forgot to weigh myself this morning, so I'm not sure how much damage has been done, but today I'm recommitting and I will lose at least 60 lbs by the end of this year. I can't wait to do it! I'll post my Week 3 progress tomorrow morning, once I weigh in.…
  • Awesome Job!! Keep up the great work :)
  • I read my post from a week ago and unfortunately, I didn't follow my plan, but here I am today committing myself again to having a healthy week this week. So far, so good. I had an amazing breakfast burrito this morning made from 2 eggs, 1/4 avocado, 28g cheddar cheese, and some soffritos. Hubby and I are planning to go…
  • Ok, confession time. I really fell off the wagon over the last week both with food and alcohol. I think the stress of interviewing just distracted me, but I'm here today and I plan to show up every day going forward. There's a great poster, which I'll post if I can find it again, but it said "What if today, I didn't quit?"…
  • Diana, do you drink anything else like coffee, tea, etc? I don't drink enough water either, but I drink A LOT of Diet Coke, which I wish I could quit, but I'm so addicted to it. Would you like to start a water challenge in this group? I'd be interested in participating. We could start a thread, set a daily goal and get…
  • @dianastepheny I hope you got to go to the gym this weekend! How'd it go? I'm thinking of getting a treadmill for home, once I get a new job. Being completely sedentary was what caused my weight to balloon out of control and I don't want that to happen again. I'm so glad you have your son to help you stay motivated. I'm…
  • Hi Everyone, I think we have a few new members. Welcome to everyone! Please feel free to introduce yourselves in this thread and explore the group chat threads. I hope you'll find encouragement and a place to share your progress, struggles and successes while making some new friends. I'm Shannon. I organized the group, but…
  • @Marilynsretired, your last "Its a new day" post is the perfect inspiration for me. I really let my job/interview situation stress me out and I've been hiding this week because I'm so far off my goals, but I decided that today is a good day to get back on track. I can't change the past, but the future is bright!
  • Another struggle I have been having lately is not wanting to go for walks. I used to walk for 1-2 hours every day. I'm not sure what's going on, but I think it has to do with the time commitment and feeling over-scheduled. Which is ridiculous, because I really have a lot of time to do everything, but it takes some…
  • I want to be as transparent with my struggles as possible. I've been thinking for at least a week about whether I can totally give up alcohol. I want to, but I am easily triggered by seeing other people drink, whether its on TV or in person. I gave into temptation on Friday and had a few drinks, actually less than I would…
  • So, this week I've let stress derail my motivation and today I weighed in at 216.5, which is a .10 gain from last week's weigh in. I'm kind of bummed, because I don't feel like I ate poorly, well, except for a handful of mini-candy bars on 3-4 days and I also broke down and had a few alcoholic drinks on Friday. I decided I…
  • Hi Diana, I'm really glad you enjoyed the donuts! I know there are lots of schools of thought when it comes to weight loss, and I'm certainly not an expert, but I think its important to allow yourself to treat yourself and eat the things you enjoy without feeling bad about it. Moderation is key (something I struggle with…
  • Hi Diana, I just saw your pictures posted! You are beautiful! I know you're going to reach your goals this year. We can do this!
  • Hey Everyone, I'm sorry for being MIA this week. With my interviews, company on Wednesday, work and practicing music, I've been kind of wiped out, but I need to get back on here, because my weight loss plan is seriously suffering. I wanted to give you all an update on my interviews. I had 6 hours of interviews for…
  • @Marilynsretired I needed this today! I've been slacking off since Tuesday and the scale is showing it, with a zero lb loss :( Time to forgive myself for my imperfections, choose differently today and get back on it.
  • @dianastepheny, my foot injury was similar to what you experienced. I ended up being diagnosed with a heel spur, which is caused by plantar fasciitis. It completely crippled me and I could barely walk because it was so painful. My doctor prescribed hard orthotic inserts to wear in my shoes and after about 6 months, the…
  • Just posting here because I think I might get an offer from this job that I want. Typically I'd celebrate with alcohol and DH brought home a bottle of wine today. I really don't want to go down that path but I'm feeling very tempted. Does anyone have any ideas for ways to celebrate that don't involve drinking?
  • Tomorrow is Throwback Thursday. I plan to post my most embarrassing weight gain picture and my current state. I'm not where I want to be yet, but so thankful for the progress I've made so far. Please feel free to post your own progress pictures, too, regardless of if you're just starting out or lost lots of weight!
  • Hey everyone, sorry for not posting yesterday about the day... things are kind of crazy with my interviews, and with the stress, I've eaten a little beyond my calories, but not too bad. Today woke up to a .3 lb gain. I'm hoping to lose that plus another pound by the weekend. Trying to take the attitude, its not a sprint,…
  • You're a busy lady! I sat for long hours at my last job and it really contributed to my weight gain. I'm thinking about in my next job installing a standing desk, but I'm not sure about typing, doing emails and such standing up. Does anyone have any experience with this?
  • I love this idea! I had a friend who was counting calories and she had a "food bag" that she carried around. She was good at prepping and only ate out of the bag. I like that concept, but I'm terrible at prepping so I haven't tried it. The planning, though, really does help.
  • Thanks, Diana! The interviews went very well... now I'm on pins and needles waiting to hear back. This afternoon is all about cooking. We're having Chicken Tikka Masala, which isn't super healthy, but I'll adjust elsewhere to fit it in. Hope you're doing well!
