  • I feel your pain (literally!) I have IBS- but with diarrhea, not constipation, and it is the worst. i'm not here to be that guy that thinks they can "solve" your IBS, because its such an individual thing, but I have cut out diary and most added sugars and it really REALLY helps me - although a lot of super healthy foods do…
  • For me, I just need so much more workout time than I'm getting. Not necessarily for weightloss but also for my mental health. To me, going to the gym is like a therapy. I crave it - some days I sit here so upset that I won't be able to get more time in. Awesome suggestion on the frozen foods :)
  • Its generally not 2-3 straight hours, i'd do like 45 min jog - 10 minute break then strength, which if you're like me, you take like 2 minutes between sets LOL. Its probably more like 2 hours total.
  • yeah, i'm DEEEEEP into Brooklyn. Honestly, if the subways by me were more reliable, I could get to work in 40 minutes, but they are 15-17 minutes between trains and 100% unreliable hahah
  • I commute via Subway aka absolutely 0 walking space. I walk a ton on the weekends and stretch some, but I think of my weekend as "me" time, so I spend more time with my boyfriend, family, meditating, taking long baths etc :) i'm definitely willing to incorporate some non-gym exercise though!!! Maybe I can just wake up an…
  • Thank you!!
  • Thank you!!!
  • Thank you for this I think I am going to start meal prepping from now on!
  • That's a great idea! That's what I have been trying to do but I think I need to be more diligent about it. Thank you!
  • @JanetYellen when my lease is up, I will be moving definitely, it's just a matter of finding some balance until May/June when I can move out.
  • @ilex70 in response to your other question about moving closer, I'm working in NYC and living in Brooklyn. Moving much closer would be a huge price hike so right now unfortunately I think I'm stuck with the commute (at least until my lease is up in May)
  • @ilex70 I have thought about it! It would mean getting up at 5 but lots of people do it! It's just a matter of my motivation levels at that hour of the morning which obviously is a terrible excuse hahaha. I may try that since I think it could fix a lot
  • I'm in!! Love gaining motivation and helping to motivate others! I friended you!
  • ehh, everything in moderation!!
  • possible you have IBS or some kind of inflammatory disease? I have IBS and I CANNOT eat kale or spinach--my stomach gets SO bloated.
  • I eat back a lot of my exercise calories!! its hard training like an athlete and eating for weightloss!
  • Thank you! I will. I already made an appointment.
  • Thank you! I plan on taking a rest day tomorrow. I will go to the doctor just to see if there is any concern, but I have never had high blood pressure or anything,in fact its fairly low, so I think I'm safe
  • Yes! I'm doing my first in May. Right now i'm running outside and coming in at about 36-38 minutes for 5K. I can't wait to run my first race!!
  • I use a polar fit HRM and it seems to be pretty accurate. The burn/heart rate on the machines always seems to be off compared to my HRM
  • oh, whoops! just saw how old this post was, sorry!
  • Do you have an IUD or are you pregnant, perhaps? I can't think of any reason why exercise would do this. You should see a doctor.
  • Also, I tend to listen to my body. If its a serious, serious craving, maybe try to limit it to one bowl, but maybe your body is telling you you need more!
  • The sodium won't give you a heart attack! It doesn't do that unless its over a prolonged period of time and your blood pressure rises. It may dehydrate you or at the worst, give you a kidney stone, but if you drink a ton of water, you should be fine. I aim for a gallon a day, but I also work out for 2-3 hours 4 days a week…
  • Hey! i'm a college student, 5'4", 165 lbs with about 30 to lose! :) i friended you!
  • woah, i actually have IBS too and it worsens when i work out....may have found my issue.
  • thanks for the input! What is overtraining?
  • thanks for the input. the only thing i will say is that i generally am still walking for a bit after my workout, as i live in the city. so i am usually not sitting more than a half hour at a time, but by a half hour, i would think my HR would be down to about resting rate
  • Thanks everyone!! I really really appreciate your responses and your sensitivity. Calorie counting is kind of necessary for me at this point to make sure I eat enough. In the past, I would have had a 100 calorie snack and pretended it was 400 calories to convince myself I was fine, so I think it is helpful for me to count…
  • To everyone telling me to weigh my food thank you so much for your responses, however, I do not think I will be weighing my food. I have had various food issues in the past, including an eating disorder, which stemmed, in part from weighing my food. So I'm kind of against that. Plus I'm an on-the-go kind of girl. I pick up…
