Yes, I have been away for a long time. I will revisit this task soon.

As far as salad goes, when you make it rethink the traditional romaine lettuce with carrots and a bit of croutons approach. Try getting some store-made bagged salads for ideas (you can always toss out the possibly high sugar dressing in favor of your own vinaigrette). I've discovered certain seeds/nuts are great in salad…

Aaaaand I'm back. Gone for almost 5 months..dropped out about September when work got crazy but unfortunately stopped all running. Beginning at C25K level again. So the goal is small and will mostly be walking vs. running.

Hi, I'm Greg and I usually do butter on bagels. Strawberry cream cheese on rare occasions but that's a pretty big calorie hit...so not often. :)

And reboot…been gone/been lazy. That’s over. There’s a 45 day step challenge at work and I’m going to focus on this to make sure I get my steps in for that. The good news: My pace was not far off from where it was when I last ran..probably a month ago. The bad news: My stamina (of course) sucks and I only have myself to…

Calories in, calories out

I’m going to need to get back into it, I’ve gotten off the wagon for sure. Ended up at 49.6/75 miles for month of March. Good thing I’ve got 4 months because I’ll need all of it to try and hit my goal of a decently run half in August. Goal will be 75 again for this month. 04/01: PLAN:?? 5 easy miles on treadmill at the…

Shouldn't your ticker runner be running AWAY from the giant paw prints? LOL...

Actually I'll amend it to "For many..." Some probably don't need it...those that know that they need to stop after 1 slice of pizza/pie/etc and that mentally keep themselves within the target calorie zone...but I tend to think most of us here didn't have that or we wouldn't have NEEDED to lose the weight. Some of us have…

I know that many have had success here with just weight lifting combined with calorie counting. You might find that once you have yourself at an appropriate calorie deficit that the pounds will move off. If you are building lean muscle mass that already burns more calories than the same amount of pounds without muscle.…

Sorry..a line break is missing in that post. @jringer1 is the only one who's supposed to be listed as a "newbie" :p

All this..except obviously you will be healthier if you exercise. But yes, it's not NECESSARY to lose weight as long as you have a calorie deficit. I exercise so I can eat more while maintaining a deficit..I don't like to feel hangry. :)

Some of us novice runners do that too for "only" a 6 mile run (mutter mutter) etc.

Heard about this...the mind boggles :#

+1. Exactly :)

Because MFP tends to be overly generous with calories, I don't eat ALL of them back. I typically eat 2/3 of the exercise calories back. I do want to eat some of them back though because along with losing weight, my goal is also to tone up and I need those calories to fuel my runs and strength training.

Hello. Started at (at least) 275 pounds, right now I'm a little over 20 away from wonderland en route to a final goal of 150-170 pounds depending on body composition at that point. Send a friend request if you'd like. P.S.: What's the oldest question in history?
