If you feel like you can live the rest of your life without carbs then do it. But if you enjoy a variety of foods, who not just count calories on MFP?
-
It actually does apply to food as well. It becomes a problem when it cant be controlled, which is why people go to extremes like cutting out carbs etc.. but its not necessary.
-
Sugar is only a problem for people who cant control themselves. For the rest of us, it's a source of happiness enjoyed in moderation
-
I'm so tired of people demonizing carbs. Its calories that matter. Eat what you want and stay in a deficit.

Your body doesn't care what time of day it is. It's your weekly calorie intake that matters. Personally I prefer to eat nothing in the morning and save my calories for night time when I'm hungry. It doesn't cause me to over eat at all. 12kg down and 3 to go
-
I don't believe in paying someone to tell me what to eat. I would rather educate myself about weight loss actually works (cico) and then decide for myself what foods to eat and when.
-
I hardly use the app anymore and I am maintaining. I usually estimate my calories
-
Me. I'm also quite short (5'3) which is why 50kg would be my ideal weight- but at 54 kg i am still happy. I aim to eat 1200 calories per day but I find that 1400 is enough to maintain my current weight. I also do intermittent fasting which helps a lot. In fact I think counting would be a lot harder if I ate breakfast as…

I just read an article by a trainer who says you should not eat exercise calories back as most fitness trackers over estimate calories burned so eating them back can hinder your progress. I think eat them if you are really hungry but dont force yourself to.

There is such this as intermittent overeating?? Lol now my mind is blown. I totally agree with IF.. I've done it for 2 years. But I think giving it a name makes it seem complicated. All it means is that you dont eat in the morning (depending on what timing method you use). It's not some new genius weigt loss technique. It…

I dont know why it has to be called fasting... it's more like just starting to eat a bit later

Meal timing has nothing to do with weight loss. In fact, the notion of even naming meals is silly. I mean what is lunch? What is dinner? What is a snack? These are simply names given by society in order to try tell people when to eat. Breakfast is still breakfast whether its eaten at 8am or 1pm. Just eat when hungry and…

They have no impact on weight. There are however people who will tell you how they are unhealthy and cause cancer... but this is not true. Drink it if you want it. No harm and no weight gain

You dont need to be on any named diet to lose weight. In fact if it has a name, like keto or paleo, it's probably not going to last. The trick is to stop over eating and this can be achieved in one of two ways: either use mfp to log your calories and try include foods that will keep you full. Everyone is different. Some…

I eat kebabs, chocolate, bread, and pies to lose weight. What's your point?
-
I feel like my current body is similar to your before pic. Any tips? How many cals do you eat? :)
-
"You've gone so thin. Have you been gyming?" Nope, I just eat less.
-
Calorie deficit is key- but when it comes to exercise, resistance training such as weight lifting is more beneficial than cardio.
-
I dont see the point in eating when you are not hungry. Listen to your body.
-
You must really hate food to do this long term.
-
Dont see weight loss as something which you start and stop. Make small changes like having smaller portions and logging calories. If you go over your limit, dont see it as failure- just carry on the next day:) all the small changes add up and you dont need to be perfect to see results. Consistency beats rigidity!

Unless you dont eat at all, there is no such thing as 'skipping breakfast'. Breakfast is when you break your fast- whether it's at 8am or 2pm. So basically the question is whether or not it's ok not to eat in the morning and it definitely is ok! It makes no difference what time you eat. Article is garbage
-
My thoughts exactly.
-
This is why I could never do keto. Sugar is not the devil
-
It really does help because you save yourself any calories that you would usually eat in the morning. You can still use the app to make sure you are in a deficit but IF makes it easier to estimate
-
Because they dont want to admit that they just need to put the fork down. Its insulins fault, its carbs fault, but not theirs

Keto: cut out an entire food group which your body needs, suffer, and lose weight fast. Gain weight back when you smell a grain of rice. Calorie counting: Eat anything you want while monitoring calories and portion size. Develop healthy relationship with food where no food group is demonised and lose weight a little slower…

While that may be true for many, it's not true for everyone. I don't get hungry easily and only start eating at 1pm usually. Some days I'll eat a toasted sandwich, some sweets and then a small snack when I get home at night. Those foods arent really healthy but its still around 1200 cals. I think it's about the person and…

I'm gna be blunt here: weight loss and being healthy are two completely separate concepts. The dieting industry has everyone believing that they are one in the same, but they are not.
