  • Not heard of that, I'll take a look.
  • l lol, you never know that treadmill may be really enjoyable!
  • Yes I've seen it too, very sad. I think as human beings our sense of value can mistaking oy come from championing a cause and the sense of being right. I've done it too. Much better if the first priority is to support others, and to share and evaluate ideas without any vested interest. But to err is human
  • I shouldn't wince at 'everyone has stress in life' because its true; but I do a little as it seems like a simplistic dismissal. I guess it's not really the stress that's the issue, unless you have PTSD or acute stress disorder etc. it is really a persons ability to cope with the stress, which I guess is a symptom of…
  • I know your being silly, but I will reply anyway. The book addresses some reasons why you can't lose weight, stress and depression were one of them. The book does not recommend magic diet pills that make you lose weight. It addresses dealing with the reason why you can't lose weight. Taking your approach, you could say to…
  • Yeah absolutely. I wasn't trying to replace a cico one size fits all with my own one size fits all. Thanks.
  • Lol, there were two options. 2. Don't read the book and suspend judgment. e.g don't come to a conclusion based on ignorance.
  • My friend, you are absolutising in order to win cheap points and feel good about quickly dismissing something. Not a very scientific approach. I would suggest you get or borrow the book, read all the peer reviewed research that it quotes and is based on, and then come to an intelligent, informed decision. If you don't want…
  • I never said cico is a myth and neither does Phil Johnson, you are putting words in our mouths. What I said was 'just' cico. There can be much more to weight loss than just cico. I would have actually thought it was a self evident truth.
  • I do understand CICo, and I don't think you have said anything that I haven't said here. What i said in my original post is that it's not 'just' cico, and that's it. There are many threads here where people are blasted for not getting that it's just cico and they must be either eating more than they think or burning less…
  • Thanks, that's been exactly the case.
  • Don't you think that's a bit naive? A professional is someone qualified in their field and earn their living from it. That would be Phil Johnson. And other professional athletes like Amhir Khan (boxer) pay Phil for his professional services. Calling something BS without having studied it is not really that clever. I do…
  • Steven your assuming that I haven't been to a doctor and am not on prescribed medication. Both assumptions would be false for the last two years. However, the medication came nowhere near to dealing with the problem, and the dose could not be increased any further as I have a dodgy liver. Since 'self medicating' I have…
  • lol I was about to say sharks, but your reply was sooo much better!
  • AM Up early Pint of water & Amino acids 30 minutes treadmill - mixed intensity large breakfast Quiet time of prayer & meditation Feel great
  • Loved the night time routine, it's the same as mine lol
  • No, it's not a myth. What is a myth is that CICO is all there is to weight loss.
  • Whatever works for you my friend. Perhaps for reasonably healthy people CICO is true but it ain't the whole truth. And to someone with real depression and stress, spending a bit on some supplements (not from Phil, he doesn't sell them) is nothing. Most people would actually and really give their right arm to live in the…
  • I'm right there with you Swinefish! (Swinefish?! lol)
  • Lol I just posted a thread saying how much I love the treadmill! I used to listen to audio books but I've made my workout so intense that all my focus is on surviving! Viva la Treadmill!
  • A lot of my binge eating is due to depression, and anxiety. This is why I am trying to associate the feeling of needing to binge with exercise. I find nothing works better for stress, anxiety and depression than vigorous exercise. It deals with the cortisol that stress and anxiety produce, and gives you a real mood lift. A…
  • I have the same kind of problem. I find some things help. Eat a really good / filling breakfast and lunch, with lots of protein in it. Makes you feel full much longer. In the evening eat lighter, but binge on water. Brush your teeth earlier, and do something when you feel like binging. e.g use the 7 minute workout app.…
  • How about a whey protein shake. They can be delicious and very filling, while being under 200 caps.
  • That would be great. If I wait until I feel like it though it will never happen! Weird how our feelings have such a strong pull on us, all logic and reason goes out the window; does for me anyway! Just got to somehow break the habit and make a new one.
  • Thanks. I'm thinking that what I need to do is try and reprogram so that I turn to exercise when I get stressed / down, instead of turning to food. Logically its a no brainer as exercise makes me feel better than food does. However, it's a very ingrained pattern of behaviour so it's easier said than done.
  • I just clicked the US link and it says they will soon be available in the US. You can log an interest so they can email you when its available.
  • It's been tested by the medical gold standard, thousands of pounds worth of equipment to be over 90% accurate. I have found the online methods differ, so the first question is which one of those is the most accurate calculation, but then its only general for the whole population, not you specifically.
  • eganita, I have the core. I got the core as you can't get the iphone app for the link on the UK iTunes. I since read that you can wiggle a bit to get onto the us iTunes from the uk and download it. So it might upgrade one day. You can get a watch that displays Cals in and out etc from the band but not all the info on the…
  • Well, pragmatically his approach makes me lose weight and yours doesn't. I decreased carbs keeping the same amount of calories and lost weight. I don't know which theory is right or wrong. But it really doesn't matter - what gets results is what matters, after all - thats why we are all here. I presume you have read his…
  • Thanks for the thoughts. I still don't buy it though. I do not buy that its as simple as calories in verses calories out. And thats certainly not the only theory out there. Have a look at this: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jch-2UJkwUE He is worth doing some research on, I think his main book is called, Good calories Bad…
