I would say maybe go up to 1400-1600 calories a day and make sure you are getting a lot of protein and healthy fats.

"Determining a safe minimum amount of daily calories can be difficult as well for the same reasons listed above. However, extreme restriction of consumed calories can significantly slow the metabolic rate, and hinder your weight-loss goals. The American College of Sports Medicine states that you shouldn't send signals to…

Make sure you are taking measurements, body weight fluctuates a lot for many reasons including water weight. The scale does tissue, fat, muscle and bone not just fat alone. Also make sure you are drinking enough water, it is recommended to drink half your body weight in ounces of water every day. We are made up mostly of…

I am 5 ft 8, currently in the 220ish range looking to get fit and be about 160-165. I've lost 6 pounds since last week, and am kicking it back into gear with a fitness contest at work. Feel free to add me, if you'd like! I do LOVE all the tallness around here!!

I woke up late--around 10 and had lunch at 12 so I don't think so. =/

Breaks into people's houses, steals their peanut butter and then finds the master bedroom and eats it while sobbing heavily into dirty laundry they found on the floor.

I would suggest just sucking it up and drinking water and nothing else and you will learn to like it. Once you get hydrated and feel healthier you'll associate water with feeling good. However, if you are super insistent on not drinking it plain, there are water additives that aren't exactly the healthiest for you…

No its not a good estimate, everyone has different bodies that hold more water, lose at faster or slower paces so MFP is being general. You could track what it says you will weigh in 5 weeks with what you actually weigh in 5 weeks if you really wanted to see how accurate it is.

After you workout within 45 minutes is the best time to eat because your body needs to refuel and use proteins to repair muscle. I was told that by a nutritionist/personal trainer.

These are hilarious, love it!

Sure, it might take you a little while but as long as you are burning more calories than you take in, you will lose the weight. You should try walking different routes though, some uphill some days when you have more energy just to vary up the routine.

Seemed a little high for me. try http://www.shapesense.com/fitness-exercise/calculators/heart-rate-based-calorie-burn-calculator.aspx ?

Thanks everyone I will try it and see if it works after a month (:

Well I don't exercise every day, so that's why I'm concerned. The fat comes in usually with the protein, I don't have any negligence when it comes to getting my fat in :D

Hello (:

I guess so, but when I went on some different websites to figure out how much I'd have to eat to maintain weight they suggested 2000 calories. I'm just concerned.

I think you need to up your calorie intake to at least 1500. You aren't eating enough and your body is starving a little bit. Upping your calories to 1500 are not going to make you gain weight, but lose weight a teeny bit slower, at a healthier rate. As long as you exercise too, the weight will slide off and you'll find…

You are definitely losing weight!! Your chin has decreased and your stomach is getting a lot smaller!! You are looking fantastic!!! Well done, its really noticeable to me (:

Added you both, thank you so much!!

Your heart rate monitor will be more accurate because it is actually reading your heart rate and if you have one that calculates the calories burned then it will know your gender, height, weight, and age whereas machines only know weight and age. You most definitely can use a HRM while doing weightlifting! I do it all the…
