Well said. But I've already stated that its a combination, not simply cardio to build muscle. People need to learn to read.
-
Congratulations. You just wrote what My Fitness Pal should have in the goal settings.
-
Do you work for My Fitness Pal? Why would it do that? That hast nothing to do with fitness. But building muscle is all about fitness is it not? Enough with the remarks that screams Defensive. I am sorry I came on here and called this website out for what it lacks. A simply setting that can tell you exactly the numbers you…

Have you been reading what I posted? I have stated that if you combine weight lifting with cardio, you will build better muscle and strength. Just like that article stated.
-
I think an article by that website which is done by people who make a living when it comes to fitness , telling people what to do, and have success by leading others to get results, is a better source than taking it from some guy who spends his time on My Fitness Pal asking questions who doesn't get paid at all when it…

This guy is stronger and more muscular than you are. Are you going to tell me you know more than this guy? Tell me that with 100 % honesty. Because he disagrees with your opinion and beliefs. http://www.muscleandstrength.com/articles/cardio-max-strength-muscle-endurance

Seems like many of you are misinformed. http://www.muscleandstrength.com/articles/cardio-max-strength-muscle-endurance

What do you think allows you to get six pack abs? Crunches? LOL Cmon man. Burning fat along with lifting gets you six pack abs. You have to do them both to get the right definition and to get the proper results. It goes hand in hand.
-
So Im going to take your word over a guy who gets paid for a living to write articles for Bodybuilding.com ? You are delusional. Who do you write for? I forgot you just read them. Do you get paid for reading?
-
For the guy that said Cardio is unneccesary to build muscle, that is just nuts. A nice cardio session after lifting burns more fat. Which leads to more definition. Which leads to better abs for example. Just doing crunches will not get you six pack abs. You have to balance it out. For example, if you lift for an hour or an…

You don't know what you are talking about. Cardio burns fat. If you lift and then do a little cardio, that will allow you to get more ripped. You will have a lower body fat percentage. What does that mean? Six pack abs quicker than the guy who just does crunches on the ab machine and bench presses.…

Thank you for your reply. Well said.

I'm not here saying to spoon feed me how to build muscle. You have to figure that out yourself. But it surprises me that you can't change your goal settings to allow you to be more informed on what you must eat every day and how much cardio and weight lifting you should do in the gym per day. If you can change your…

It would be in each persons goal settings. What is so hard about that? Are the people incapable on this site to put that together? Sounds like it. Or they just do not want to market to that target group even though it would bring more publicity to this website with more members. You may even be able to charge money one day…
-
Why can this site tell a person how much cardio per day and how many macros they need per day to lose weight. But it can't do the same thing when it comes to building muscle? Explain that to me. Why is that so hard ?
-
Everyone is different. A person that is 210 pounds is going to have to eat way more protein per day than a person who is 150. Don't you know that? Also a person if they do too much cardio will eliminate all the hard work they put in the gym when it comes to lifting. Too much cardio can prevent protein synthesis and lead to…
-
Reason why you don't get the bodybuilders using this site is because it does not market towards that group. Start marketing towards that group along with people who just want to lose weight , and you would see the members increase even more. This site should allow a person the tools to atleast know how much exercise they…
-
Does this site provide the reader information on how to build muscle without having to search for it? No it does not. It does that for weight loss goals though. You go to your goals and put your settings in. Setting them to how much weight you want to lose a week and how much exercise you are going to do every day. This…
-
Bottom line is , this site is marketed towards people who want to manage and lose their weight, not build muscle. That is one of the things this site lacks to be completely honest. They don't even have a section that explains BMI and the science of building muscle. You would think they would have that on here. It would be…

My fitness Pal should show people how to build muscle along with losing weight. Say a guy comes on here who has reached his goal weight and now wants to focus on building muscle. My Fitness Pal should give him the tools to do this. Instead of keeping track of his protein intake, carbs, and fat for example to lose weight,…

Yes but if I want to build 10 pounds of muscle, how do I know that if I set my goals to gaining weight, that its not going to turn to fat instead of muscle?
-
Sure that's ok as long as it doesn't lead to craving a beer due to cotton mouth. Also don't forget lost lung capacity leading to underperformance in the cardio department.
-
Red Wine is fine as long as its in moderation. Beer stay away from it altogether. I drink wine once a week and make sure its always Red. Once you reach your goal weight then you can reward yourself with a couple beers. But make sure you are in the gym the next day :)
-
Thank you very much Celia. :)
-
Yeah I know! ;)

I love the White Chocolate Raspberry and the cookies and cream. Gonna pick up the chocolate Chip Cookie Dough next time I go to GNC. I have one per day for an afternoon snack after lunch so I make sure to meet my protein goals for the day.

I highly recommend the elliptical. Start using one asap. Its basically non impact running. An elliptical trainer or cross-trainer (also called an X-trainer) is a stationary exercise machine used to simulate stair climbing, walking, or running without causing excessive pressure to the joints, hence decreasing the risk of…

Maintaining your weight means maintaining your lifestyle changes when it comes to diet and exercise. If you think for a second that once you reach your goal weight you can switch your diet to a poor one, you are in for a rude awakening. Keep the habits that allowed you to lose the weight you wanted. Stick to the foods that…

Thank you everyone! I wish you all the best in your own personal journeys. I am so happy that I have found this website. Not only do I get to focus on myself but I also get to keep in touch with all you wonderful people who are all working at the same thing as I am. We have something special in common with one another. :)

@ TFrame34 I have been mixing up the machines at the Gym. I will do 30 minutes on the elliptical, then jump over to the bike and do 30 minutes, and then finish it all off with a 30 minute power walk/run on the treadmill. What I do is power walk then run for a minute, power walk for two minutes, then run for one minute. I…
