  • There is definitely such a thing as too sore. Whether or not it's your meniscus only means more or less risk. When you work out you are actually created tears in your muscles which your body repairs into stronger muscles. The soreness is because you have a bunch of little tears. At some point when you are really sore,…
  • Yes, no doubt this has been gone over on a board like this many times. Just like recipes and calories burned and just about anything else. Thanks for your reply anyway!
  • If that's the type of exercise that you can continue a workout regimen with then go with it. You won't burn calories that fast and therefore won't see the same benefit as a higher intensity workout but if you hate working out it's a lot better to get some exercise over none.
  • interesting recipes. I also tend to put mint into vegetable smoothies, it gives it a good taste without the sweetener. I also like to add come chili or jalapeno for a little kick if you are a fan of spice.
  • I haven't personally tried any of these but a simple search for salty smoothie gives many results, here's one: http://www.pinterest.com/tiffdowner/savory-smoothies/ In my opinion you hit the nail on the head, every smoothie you make is sweet because they all have fruit in them. If you make a completely veggie based…
  • You look amazing! Great job!
  • My fav is goku but if I had to choose a physique I'd want personally it'd be the current thor. He's got nice tone without having that overly large too muscled look (except I'm only 5'8" womp womp). As far as women fictional character there are literally way too many to list. From comic book characters to video game…
  • According to all the information I can find...not really. You are breathing heavier because of a lack of oxygen in the air you're breathing. So other then the increased activity of the muscles related to breathing working harder to try to take in the needed oxygen, all of the rest of your muscles are working at the same…
  • I want to conquer insanity (not enough time to finish but I want it to be a regular part of my routine)
  • I am not arguing with any of you but I find "artificial" products suspicious. I guess if you need something like that to drink water use it (don't get me wrong I drink it but I also hate drinking water). I do wonder though if they are bad for you.
  • What is really in that stuff though? I can't imagine it can be that great for you. It has no sugar and no calories...what in the hell makes the flavor?
  • You lost about 2 pounds a week over a 6 month period. That's a really great job. You wouldn't have wanted to lose it much faster anyway, what you're doing is the healthy way. Just keep up whatever you're doing and keep motivated.
  • Stress eating is tough but common. You have to find another habit to release stress. For me it's exercise. The more upset or stressed I am the harder I work out. Usually when I'm done I'm so tired I'm not doing anything else. But that's just what I do. I also don't have kids to worry about. Find what works for you but you…
  • Like when people use would of instead of would have. Or for all intensive purposes when they mean all intents and purposes. I could go on for hours with these.
  • Try to be less judgmental. Especially in an environment like this one that is all about the body, I would think this would be a better place to show it off. Besides, what do you really care what someone else's profile pic is?
  • Yes and no. There is definitely some truth to the fact that a sculpted body and strength aren't the same thing. You can have a sculpted body without being incredibly strong and you can be incredibly strong without a sculpted body. That being said either one is fine. It just depends on what your goals are. I don't…
  • I thought I was in ok shape. I run 5 & 10k's, do other cardio, lift, etc. But then I did the fit test to start Insanity...and could barely walk the next few days. I gave myself a few days off for my legs to stop hurting and plan on starting again tomorrow. Anyone in here feel free and add me as a friend, I could use the…
  • LMAO. Is this really the direction this is going to go in?
  • I agree. I don't like the gym environment. I also find it easier to motivate myself at home. It only takes a moment of motivation to change and start a workout but going to the gym is such a chore for me.
  • Great job losing the weight! 90 pounds is something to be proud of. I lost about 45 (despite what my page says cuz I only started using this part way in). At the point I'm at now I do a lot of up and down depending on workouts, hydration and discipline so more then weight or measurements I'm going by my workouts. I track…
  • -__- That's pretty horrifying
  • I have so many I have loved but here are the best, and I'm a real animehead. This really depends upon personal preferences but I would suggest the following: Thinking / weird type animes: Tekkon Kinkreet (movie) Big O Eden of the East (short series / two movies) Ghost in the Shell blood+ fulmetal alchemist (original and…
  • i agree with the others. Nothing wrong with a cheat day but if you go too far you'll negate a week's worth of hard work and sacrifice. Not worth it in my book. One silly day is a demotivater for me (mine usually involve restaurants drinking and eventually too much to eat). Everything in moderation is my philosophy.
  • Very nice. Yes it's only 3 pounds but look at the inches! I like to pay more attention to the inches and workout results. They are a better short term indicator I feel. Keep working and the pounds with follow.
  • even 10 pounds will make a big difference, I lose a few pounds and can instantly see it.
  • I like body fortress super advanced whey protein. I've only seen it in vanilla and chocolate but both are good with water and better with milk. Never tried it as anything other then a shake though.
  • There are a bunch of dvd programs similar to insanity, and they are all similarly expensive.
  • That's all a preference thing. Maybe you really don't need as many calories as recommended. But if you do and you're consistently running a caloric deficit that will be detrimental to your goal. What seems to be your issue is calories toward the end of the day, then you eat junk. I would re-evaluate what you are eating…
  • It's not an unrealistic goal if you were below that weight at one point. It is definitely a matter of meeting smaller more achievable goals one by one until you get to your final goal. If you are losing inches but not pounds then you're doing well. If you're doing a program like T25 you will eventually slow gaining muscle…
