Have you considered signing up for endurance events ie run/triathlon? This can motivate you to train and at the end of the day maybe learn if you are improving given you’re current methods.

Good luck with Mt Tremblant Brian, I was fortunate to race the 70.3 in 2018 and found it quite challenging. From your screen shot I think you’re preparation is going well. Are you strength training? I found that really helped me with the hills!

I used to be anxious, but I realize now that was because I was putting unrealistic expectations on myself. I go into every race now with the intent to enjoy the moment realizing that just to be able to compete is a gift in and of itself. Ive found that with that approach Im more relaxed, make better decisions and not get…

I hate the treadmill! Have ran for 10+ yrs For me the dreadmill is only good for speed work. that being said, I find its harder than running outside. From everything Ive read or referenced an incline of 1% is the equivalent of outdoor running.

Same problem when I initiated a change in 2011. felt like crap but now feel much better and am happier. She eventually came around but only when she could appreciate the positive changes that came about. Do whats best for you and the rest will take care of itself.

To me clean eating is better choices other than processed food, simple refined sugar etc. I think if the food is closer to its natural state the cleaner its is. I guess its on a spectrum. Good luck!

I think if you want to lose weight faster then don't eat back calories burned. That being said you put yourself in a starvation mode and the body will actually conserve calories and thus harder to burn off. Furthermore if you don't fuel properly this leads to low quality workouts and hamper metabolism. I think eating these…

Good for you, Definitely start now and build your base slowly and CONSISTENTLY. I suggest getting a garmin or other pacing tool to track improvement and avoid injury. Don't be an idiot like I was for my first-traing too much and inconsistently which led to injury. Go nice and slow, its a long race and as I found out the…

Hi, Its great you are doing the half. I"m doing # 2 half this July, so here,s some noob advice For my first I really concentrated n the bike leg 4x/week 1 long 2 tempo and 1 threshold session and bricked once/week after a tempo. My next priority was the run x3/week threshold/tempo/long. Finally the swim 2-3/week but long…

Here's my 2 cents. Base building will help for sure- but its definitely tempo/threshold sessions that will train your feet to turn over quicker and hence speed. Working on your core helps too, but being a swimmer that's probably not a problem. Im a triathlete as well and my swim stinks despite much training. Any pointers?

Hey, doing a 30 km, April 3rd- not quite a full but am interested in you're progression based on routines. I am trying a program from the book ' Run faster, run less" a runners world recommendation. The focus is on 3 runs a week -quality/tempo/long run. I've done 2 marathons on loosely based training methods and want to…

Hey, I get it everyone wants to look good. Unfortunately not everyone are not blessed with her genetics. Case in point , my brother and I are triathletes. He trains his *kitten* off, not so much for me. I remain thinner. I see many body types in my races. Ive met a lot of really awesome people in my races, so what you look…
