Timberman 1/2 Iron Man training

Just wondering if there is anyone on here that will be training for the Timberman 1/2 Iron for August 2016? I'm looking for some support and people to get ideas/tips from. This will be my biggest undertaking so far and I'll need lots of encouragement for the swim portion

Hi, Its great you are doing the half. I"m doing # 2 half this July, so here,s some noob advice For my first I really concentrated n the bike leg 4x/week 1 long 2 tempo and 1 threshold session and bricked once/week after a tempo. My next priority was the run x3/week threshold/tempo/long. Finally the swim 2-3/week but long steady only as I found this the hardest to improve speed despite four prior years of Olympic/sprint tri races. I would also get into open water as much as possible and stay relaxed. My attitude for the swim was control and avoid exhausting myself for the bike/run. I also experimented with hydration,nutrition way before the race during long days. I know this sounds like a lot of work but its a long race! Ding the regimen far exceeded my expectations on race day. I hope this helps you and good luck on race day!0
