  • to be honest, I started trying way before thanksgiving, and would take off weeks at a time, it wasnt until I signed up for the 5k that I said I have to do this. I would just say take it at your speed, if you feel like you need more time at one step take it. I remember at the begining I was the same way it literally felt…
  • I used the app, I skipped from week 7 to just running 3 miles, the app I was using only went up to 30 minutes, and Im only doing a 13:40 mile so I cant do 3 in 30 minutes
  • I noticed that to yesterday specifically, but I think pretty much every time, I think I looked at my app when that happened and it was about 6 minutes,
  • quite honestly, I exercise so that I can eat more haha. I am selfish and I like food and since I use the MFP plan of eating back exercise calories if I give up 1 hr a day (I run and do the 30 day shred) then I can eat sometimes up to 500 extra calories a day. I could stick to my lower calories and lose weight I'm sure, but…
  • Ive been doing the couch2 5k, started out barely running 1 minute without feeling awful, now I can run 25 minuntes on week 7, I am doing a 5k in march and am a little concerned that Ive only run half of that, I still dont love running, but I feel badly if I dont do it, and I figure it takes 30 minutes out of my day, Its…
  • Its been awhile since I started this thread, and I just wanted to post an update, I did end up going to the eat your exercise calories back, because that made the most sense to me, and I am now someone who I wouldnt say likes to work out, but I see the benefits in it, namely..if I choose to run and do my dvd that day then…
  • i use shealth on my android phone...it seems farely accurate, I just wish it was compatible with myfitnesspal so I didnt have to put it in manually.
  • by the end of the 30 days I was starving, my body doesn't feel satisfied at that amount of calories..Im glad I did it but I'm smart enough about my self to know that I have to eat more than that in order to keep losing..if I cant then I can always go back down again, but reading around mfp I believe that I should be able…
  • thanks everyone for your help! I read around, but I seem to get so confused, so I decided I needed someone to just tell me in 1+1=2 what I need to do. Yesterday I did end up eating back my exercise calories mostly, and I'm comfortable with that. I think once I get in the swing of things it will come naturally, I've been…
  • it was definitely helpful and to the point :) I just thought I was talking to much haha
  • me overthink? I think thats my middle name :)
  • I think you lose slower the thinner you are...8 lbs in 3 months isnt bad for your size I don't think..
  • thats great, Im doing the lower calories just for the first 30 days in order to jumpstart a loss, then Im going to up my calories to what is better for me, I come up to about 1800 a day which seems like a lot..and thats with one lower activity then I actually am...1-3 days instead of 3-5 where I actually am at.
  • interesting, so it factors in how many calories you should be eating based on how active you say you are?
  • I understand, but I didnt know if the calories you eat and calories you burn cancel eachother out, therefore you are ending the day with a bigger defecit than you should, which isnt good either, from what I understand.
  • i rarely eat 700 calories at dinner :/ not on purpose, it just works out that way...I think Im worried about eating that much at the end of the day? anyways, I ate a banana, good way to eat some of those extra calories I think. thank you for the help, especially telling me to not overthink it haha clearly losing weight…
  • no dinner yet, its only 300pm here! :) I would add another snack or something in order to make up the difference, I just wouldnt want to do that unless its the right thing to do..I dont want to eat just to eat, that was my problem before, but I also dont want to not eat enough thus causing my weight loss to stall also.. it…
  • you don't have to eat 1200 to maintain, you eat lower to lose and higher to maintain and even higher to gain..that's the formula as I know it..
  • I dont think that we are denying that facft..I think those that say this happens are well aware that they have a self control problem, and nobody knows how hard or what it takes to work on that problem. and yes being successful and having victory is great, but we didnt get the way we are overnight and we arent going to…
  • ok, Im still confused...I did the calculation of BMR and it says I should eat 1,823, is that before I work out, so I burn approximately 400 calories a day (based on my stepper calculation and I do the 30 day shred video every day) so at the end of the day I shouldnt be lower than 1400 calories a day in order to be getting…
  • thanks! its all very confusing to me, Ive tried to lose weight many times and its never worked out, thats because I wasnt tracking everything, workin out...but Im still a little fuzzy on how much you can eat if you burn calories..Ill read that.
  • so dumb it down for me, if you eat 2000 calories how much then should you lose to lose weight, not just maintain? the net calories dont matter as long as your burning enough to lose weight, and how do you go about that?
  • um..ok, sorry I thought that was implied...Im not in denial of my lack of self control if thats what your saying. thats why Im restricting myself now, so that I can gain the tools I need to be successful in the future, if I dont allow myself to have whatever I want then I wont be used to eating whatever I want...
  • Im glad to read that, I was getting nervous lol I know I dont have it all figured out, but I know I need to eat less than I am, and nothing else was working..this is working, I dont believe that I will have to stay on it forever, I think once I get used to eating less I can stay in a range and be fine.
  • Im doing the 1200 calorie diet and heres why, Im good at maintaining, but Im not good at losing, I lost 30lbs on WW and kept it off for a long time, the only reason I gained it back was because I was no longer in control of whats in my cupboard, I had to move in with my parents and all that stuff that I started having in…
  • for me, food is an addiction, and so holidays are like...throwing all this stuff at me that Im trying to stay away from..I dont keep that stuff around me for a reason, and its great if you have the self control problem down, I think thats wonderful..but I do have a problem with self control and believe me, every time I'm…
  • I agree! I tried a few workouts before i picked this one up, youtubed a couple, picked up Jillian because I know her and know that her methods can be trusted, I have only been doing it for 2 weeks, the first week I lost 1 inch, the second week I lost 2.2 lbs, her logic for her method makes sense, and Im certainly sweating…
