Wow, so much good advice, thank you. To add a few comments to my original post: Why 3x12...no particular reason, just thought was best so happy to take any alternative advice. I do not want to particularly get bigger and stronger, just a whole lot leaner, currently around 25% body fat, but guessing the added strength will…

@MrsBeccaM5, thanks never heard of that one, just downloaded the app, will give it a go. Have you had success with it?

All exercise is measured from a polar heart rate monitor, which actually rounds down what fitbit says.

Sorry diary open now, and to answer a few questions: I weigh most things, but not everything. I weigh myself probably every week or so, same place, and it has body fat % that fluctuates enormously. Weight loss since January 01 is actually 1.8kgs (3.9lbs) A few years ago I lost weight and went from 96kg to 75kg in what…

Thanks for the advice, and yes it is the Gold Coast Marathon, I have run numerous Half marathons in fact one in April, but never a full one, so it is on my bucket list. Good advice on the weighing, I think you may be correct as I am choosing recently eaten instead of actually weighing all. The other thing it is quite…

Just opened the diary for people to view and recommend where I am going wrong, but please dont beat me up for my weekend alcohol

Hi all, Thanks for the answers and advice and yes I am concentrating on finishing which will be an achievement in itself to be honest, but the weight thing I just didn't understand. I am tracking my calories on here, and pretty sure I am in a deficit, but thinking it could be counteractive, i.e. too much of a deficit? Just…

Thanks, and yes I was just a little bit over it! Looking at the scales and nothing was changing, can be a bit soul destroying once you get the big hit at first and the big losses happen, the plateau stages really annoy.

980 for me, lots of OCD no matter where I have been on holidays etc. Telling the family I need to (must!) find an internet connection to log my food, even in different time zones, I was so determined! Anyway, I think when I get the 1000 days, I will call it quits. I find I am struggling with motivation at present, as I…

Thanks for all the replies, I didn't even know it was possible to change stride lengths. As they say you learn something new everyday :-) Thanks again

His book was a total motivation but was so let down when it all came out, I know he has now been outed as a cheat but always loved this one from him, “Pain is temporary. It may last a minute, or an hour, or a day, or a year, but eventually it will subside and something else will take its place. If I quit, however, it lasts…

I ran 10k in under 50 minutes for the first time in over 15 years!

Me too, a chocolate bar sitting waiting to be eaten, I can just pass on by, a bowl of just salted chips or popcorn well I wouldn't be able to walk by them. Also on food, I was once pulled up a colleague when eating in a restaurant, the plate of food had just been put down, I hadn't even tasted it, yet there I was pouring…

October 2011.........yes been on a plateau for that long :(

Thanks for the replies so far, yes Alchohol is an issue during weekends as I dont normally partake in the week. Fruit I eat during the week when at work but obviously not enough. I will try to add as I thought mixed fruit & nuts, (good fats) Very frustrating as it all seems quite easy when I had lots to lose, now the final…

Well done on the transformation, defintely some hard work been worthwhile So what regime did you do? I ask because I can drop the weight but am struggling like hell to get rid of body fat. Plateau like you wouldn't believe!!
-
I would suggest there was a hint of sarcasm in the reply :-) All good though, will just keep battling away, my original post was borne out of frustration more than anything else.
-
Thanks for the replies all, yes I was banking on the HRM, but was curious as why MFP measurements were so far out, I mean a hundred calories does seem a massive difference when every calorie counts :-) Probably should be just content in the fact that I am running again!
