Kelly, LOL about your bumping and jumping and setting a good example for the neighbors :) Sheesh, I have to agree with the 1000 cal not being enough. I run between 1100-1300 most of the time and it is about the lowest I've found to get in a little variety without being hungry. What I'm focused on now is making sure I have…

oh, and btw, thanks for posting the RMR formula. It had been a long while since I had figured that out and it sure explains why I haven't lost weight this year... I am sitting at my maintenance calories for most of my days. Not going to get much better without putting in added exercise time since my RMR at goal weight is…

Hey there iquiltoo :) Good to see you back on the board posting :) LOL about forgetting you post with us... you've had a few other things on your mind with the hospitalization and recovery. Between being pretty well slammed at work and being sick with a cold, I haven't done much. Mysteriously put on 2 lbs when I came down…

I'll do my weigh in tomorrow but I am here, hanging in the best I can. I came home from Grandbabyland on Sunday feeling like I was coming down with their cold and have made if official today. I can't breathe thru my nose and all I want to do is go to bed... but tonight is Biggest Loser and my last chance workout so I am…

I'm sorry you are having issues with it again... I wonder if it's a location/temperature thing. It should work no matter where you are in relation to your "home base" though, functioning as an independant little electronical device. Sigh...

LOL... wonderful post and I am right there with you :) I"ve found that they freeze well and I can buy a whole year's worth of cookies that way. The good thing about freezing them is that it's easier to eat just one or two and put the rest back. Don't know why, but cookies from the pantry disappear faster than those from…

Really good to see you made it to the forums :) It's nice to have you back with us again. I'm not that familiar with crossfit but if it's making you do handstand pushups and pull ups, it sounds pretty physical :) I really need to get back into some of my fitness tapes again, though I am a far cry from doing the stuff I…

thought I was going to make a little downward turn this week but it didn't happen. Someone brought some wonderfully tender homemade cookies into the office and I didn't resist... they were really really good and I really really love cookies. My effort for this coming week will be to watch/decrease the sugar intake as well…

someone a looooong time ago told me that when a person gets hungry after a meal or between meals, they should go for veggies first. If they don't feel hungry enough for the veggies, they aren't really hungry, LOL. Plus most veggies are low cal so it's okay to fill up on them between meals. Easy to say but not so easy to do…

oh, uggh, Kelly! No, I wouldn't go out in that weather either... not to walk to the mailbox, let alone to the car to drive to the store. Nope. I think I'm freezing when we get down in the 50's-60's :P In that case, hope you have some exercise cd's or plan on doing some walk abouts your home. (((hugs))) Lois, I am so sorry…

and here's a diffrent take on the mattter...can you imagine where you'd be if you QUIT? If you efforts are resulting in maintence you are still better than your alternative of gaining. Keep working out, keep logging your food and weigh it when you measure. Get the sleep you need and try not to be so hard on yourself. That…

(((hugs))) Kelly. One day at a time. I think it would be especially tough to still be living in the same house. If the relationship is not to be, then I hope this living arrangement is not for long. This may be a very long week if it is... and it's not like you can just go take a walk and stay out of the house. Hmmm...…

BalmyD- thank you, thank you, thank you for the wonderful Beef Barley Skillet dinner recipe!! It is absolutely fabulous and I can see it is going to be a regular on my menu. I made some for dinner tonight and couldn't ask for a yummier meal. I didn't have any tomato sauce or Italian seasoning on hand so what I did was add…

It truly is nice to see the posting :) I'm sorry that posting is often such a challenge for me, especially when I come and read. I appreciate those of you who continue to continue (thinking Sarah and Lois in particular who keep things going over here.. thanks!) It will get easier as work eases up when I am able to get some…

sounds like a nice night... I did my steps and went to bed, LOL. Hope you get to enjoy your nephew and his gal, and hope the day will go well for you. Why do you dislike the treadmill so much? Can you set it up so you can watch a good tv show or movie while walking? Maybe that would help the time pass a little quicker on…

and that is what success looks like :) Congratulations on what you've been able to attain :)

There's plenty of good advice about foods and eating healthy... and the idea of checking the recipe books at the library are good, but you can also google recipe sites while the little one is playing nearby or sleeping. I recently discovered quiche (really simple dish made with skim milk, lowfat cheese and eggs, add some…

I've popped in to read but haven't had the time to respond... sorry. It's all I've been able to do to keep up with logging my foods between days at work... long days and I didn't get out for my walks. We've been short staffed and that never helps. I looked at my year in review and I'm up a pound since starting Fit bit a…

My goodness, Lois! That's a lot of food and it all sounds so very yummy :) I can't believe how much you got done so soon after having your surgery. I hope you have a Sealing system for those leftovers so you can put them in the freezer. Yumm :) Sarah, LOL about dreading the cold and ending up with the heat. Unfortunate…
-
Sarah, hope you have safe travels (and warm temps). Sorry to hear about your mom's heat pump going out- bad time of the year for that, and also about your sister's back pain. Hope she can hang in there without any more issues until her surgery. Nice of you to be doing the cooking to take along. I am sure that will help a…

Sarah, you always remind me that I really need to go back and look at the stat history. Thanks for that... will go do it in a few minutes :) Have fun on your days off work, get the walks and exercise in while you can. Congrats on the pound off... although you aren't celebrating it, a pound loss is still a pound lost :)…

Lois, you sound like you are recovering very well and congrats on no weight gain and not getting off track. Sheesh, sounds like you had a good time with your little grandchildren, too :) My food selections were tough at Grandbabyland but I did okay with the weight. I came home with their colds so I don't really feel good…

sorry to be late myself and I've gotta be quick.... basically maintained LW180.2 TW 180.0 super busy week and heading to GBL for our Christmas. Will make contact from there later- prob tomorrow

Lois, glad the surgery went well :) You sound like you are doing really good so far with your recovery :) Good for you for not gaining over the holiday, too. :) Sheesh, glad you are being careful regarding the icy situations. We sure don't need you to fall and break anything. Have a great time at Grandbabyland :) Okay, so…

glad I waited one more day to weigh in :) LW 182.0 TW 180.2 Keep in mind that was a quick up with a quick down so most likely water retention after the pot luck so no biggie that it's off now. The best thing was that I didn't gain weight over Thanksgiving :) Immediate goal? Be in the 170's by New Years, which would mean no…

don't mind you starting the thread... anyone is welcome :) I was waiting until my fitbit report came in but it didn't come in until this evening just before Biggest Loser. Good for you, Sheesh, to be rededicating your efforts. I can see some tough times ahead for me as this weekend is the office Christmas party at a…

thinking of you today, Lois, and hoping your surgery will go well today... then on to recovery once again.

Well a little preview of the scales shows a loss of about 1 lb... which is less than I had hoped for since I thought the 2 lb gain last weigh in was mostly water weight from eating the breadstuffs but I have had some sweets over the last week too so I may be to blame. I'm still hoping for a bit more to be off by officially…

sorry I didn't get back with a reply to you but we decided to go have family pictures done on Fri and then did a lot of walking around and got back rather late. Saturday, we took the kids to the park to enjoy the swings, slides and some kicking the ball around :) That was a lot of fun and then we pretended to play a little…

It's been crazy busy here with the pot luck at work and then packing and driving to Grandbabyland after work today. Didn't get a chance to write the stats down but the scale shows I went from 180 .TO 182 OVEERNIGHT. PLEASE FORGIVE THE CAPS AS I CANT SEEM TO TURN THEM OFF. HAVE A GOOD THANKSGIVING AND I' LL TRY TO CHECK IN…
