introductions...
Since this is a public group, I suspect there are some lurking out there, trying to get a feel as to what this group is all about. The core group of us have posted together for a number of years but there's always room for more. Right now the group is transitioning from one site to another so it looks like it's just me but…

still alive...
Since I got a message from both Lois and Sarah, I thought I'd better pop in to say I'm still treading water at work. We ended 2015 with 2 people out on medical leave and when they came back, the other nurse decided to retire early. My doctor decided to take partial retirement and moved to another part of the state in March…

Back on Target week 4
It looks like we skipped week 3, but it is in the week 2 thread :) My week 4 started off well with a 2 miler this morning with friends. Took 3rd place for my age group, but I really think it's because there weren't that many people my age competing, LOL. It's not something I typically do but since it was free and before…

Back On Target Challenge Week 2
Okay, took a walk and got 40 active minutes :) only 54 minutes of fat burning today but that's due to all the time spent in the kitchen and on the couch reading my recipe book :) Finished the day with a good deficit though :) How did you do? :)

Back on Target Challenge- week 1
okay, it sounds as if we are all in need of some serious revamping here... so I issue this challenge to each of us. One day at a time, respond with a quick "did ..." "today's goal met" or something to acknowledge you are putting in that extra effort each day. (that itself is a challenge to me, LOL) 1) accomplish at least…

t shirts...
A few years ago, I had some t-shirts made at CafePress ("I'm downsizing" ... and another one which says "I'm totally Losing it") which I have really enjoyed. Well, I just ordered a couple more for myself. I'm having one made which says "I wish exercise was as much fun as eating" and found another "must have" which says…

this coming week...
We are each facing our own challenges and struggling to maintain our momentum. Something that was included in a recent continuing effort course hit a spot with me. It's not just what we are facing that is at issue... it's what we plan to do about it. I have 3 things which make my weight loss issues difficult: 1) fatigue 2)…

Sugar Challenge...
In respect to the sugar video and comments from several of us about needing/wanting to watch our sugar intake, I offer this challenge: No ADDED sugar for the next 3 weeks (that is what they did in the video with the one family). We can worry about our sugar totals later, on a different effort, but for now, just eliminate…

Thanksgiving...
I hope each of you had a lovely Thanksgiving. Mine was enjoyable, starting with friends at the church's potluck followed by many hours holding a purring cat snuggled on my lap while doing some plastic canvas crafts and watching movies :) I got my steps in early, which was good because both cats took turns wanting to be…

Goals as we head into the holidays...
We are already in October- can you believe it? That means we are rapidly approaching Halloween, Thanksgiving, Christmas/Hannakah and New Years. Have you made plans to get thru the holidays without setting yourself back? I gave good thought to that yesterday evening, and wondering how yesterday's pizza would affect the…

thought for the day...
1 pound is such a little thing when we are trying hard to lose... but... just as 1 pound a month gained = 12 lbs gained in a year, as little as 1 pound a month = 12 lbs lost in a year.

so how did you do?
I pretty much stuck to my food plan but went a little over by drinking a can soda which I very seldom do. It was yummy and I enjoyed it and I'm not going to beat myself up over it. I could have done worrse as I was only about 50 calories over. Biggest problem for me was the lackof activity in spite of taking the kids to…

weigh in 11-12-13
love the way the date does today, LOL... Anyways, time for a new week and a new weigh in thread. I've been diligent with my activity and food this week and I'm sad to report there is NOT a weight loss. Again... bummer. Maybe tomorrow? I can only hope. I am running off to work and don't have time for much but put it out as…

holiday committments...
Last chance made a good point about not using excuses during the holidays and being accountable for our choices. That prompted some thoughts on my end... feel free to add your own. I need to remember that even though there are foods I really like to eat and only get at holiday times, there is really no need to feel…

2nd group weigh in= 11-5-13
Some of us will weigh in today, some of us will weigh in later this week, whatever your day is fine as long as you keep consistent, right? :) My fitbit summary comes on Monday evening and since most of you weigh in on Tuesdays, I'll just stick with that too. In spite of the pot luck and poor eating choices at…

Weigh in...
Do we want a particular day for weigh in or do we just want to weigh in individually once a week on what ever day works for you? Since I am often in Grandbabyland on the weekend without a scale or easy way to log in, I prefer to avoid the weekends... and I would prefer to avoid Mondays in case they have added a lot of salt…
