  • Hiya, welcome back! I think the first thing is to remember that this is a lifestyle change and hopefully the changes that you make to your eating and exercise habits will be sustainable enough to last a lifetime. If it is hard for you to count calories, I would focus first on portion sizes and choosing healthier options.…
  • I'm going to focus on each opportunity-making better choices each time. So when I'm at a BBQ or a workplace morning tea, lunch etc. I am going to think "just this time, I will eat the healthier choice. Next time, I can have a treat." But then deep down I know that I will do the same next time, tricking myself into thinking…
  • You look absolutely stunning and have just reaffirmed for me why I am doing this. I lost around 20kg but have gained some back slowly over the last year or so. I am looking to lose around 5kg to get back to a weight where I feel comfortable. You have inspired me to get back to being strict and honest with myself-you're…
  • Grr... I had a binge last night. I had a great day and was feeling satisfied after dinner. But I had some cals to spare and started snacking on grapes...then it all turned bad and probably ate about 1000 extra calories. I am so mad because I don't have a huge deficit, every time this happens I blow like a whole week. But…

  • I visit this site every day so we can check in daily @Jessieqaz? I remember I always liked to eat but since actually trying to lose weight and restricting for so long (no takeaway, no dessert etc.) then it all came crashing down. I normally binge 1-2 times per week but when it gets bad it can be every second day. I have…
  • Good luck for the rest of the weekend! Could you change your grocery day to a week day where you are probably more in routine with your eating habits and maybe less likely to make 'bad' choices. Shopping on a weekend, in my brain because its the weekend, seems to psychologically mess with your head and leads to a binge.…
  • On a less gross note...when running in winter in the run I get chaffing under my armpit where my wet top/bra rubs. I don't notice it too much til after my run/when I get in the shower. It is red raw. ouchy!
  • What's monkey butt??
  • I often feel like I've peed myself but that's just sweaty undies...
  • Well done for recogising your triggers and getting straight back onto your goals. The worst thing is when one time spirals into 2 days, a week etc. I have taken a step back from logging each food in the last few days after having multiple binges in a week-eating half a loaf of bread each time and multiple bowls of cereal.…
  • :'( bad week...late posting it because it was so bad...but need to get back on track and I have had a good couple of days. Will see you back here on 15th. Good work to everyone who has met/exceeded their goal!
  • these sound so delicious! Thanks
  • Hiya, You don't NEED friends but since you are unsure about what you should be eating and you are currently lacking some motivation to exercise (or maybe you don't have the time-you sound busy?), I would suggest that you find some friends to help you. You can look at their food diaries and see what they are eating. Seeing…
  • Thanks for sharing what works for you! Some good tips. I have had much more success eating more calories 1500-1600 net per day and I am now pre logging a treat every day. Before I would try to have something else that is 'healthier' which never satisfied me and it would lead to a binge. I am trying lots of new things and I…
  • Congrats on your weight loss. I'm sure many more people noticed your loss but weight is a funny thing...people often get offended when someone brings up their weight...even if it is a loss. I am kind of like that. Sometimes if people mention I've lost weight, In my messed up brain I think "did they think I was fat before?"…
  • honestly, eat some fat. This is what worked for me. I was always starving and I was eating all the 'right' things...veges, fruit, lean meat, oats etc. I was always starving. Now I eat 2 pieces of bacon and an egg for breakfast and I am full til 1pm (I eat breakfast at 6am). It's actually less calories than I used to have…
  • I agree. I have always eaten a lot of vegetables so that won't change. But I always avoided fat, which meant that I was on a low cal and low fat diet. I was always hungry and unsatisfied. Now, I am keeping to the fats to avoid that again!
  • Our stories seem very similar and so do our stats! I am 5'3, 59kg at the moment but was down to 51kg at my lowest. My highest weight was 72kg. I have come back to IIFYM, but with a slightly lower carb goal as I want to focus on 'healthy' fats and getting my protein in. I was following a paleo/keto diet which worked…
  • Haha you're so right. Open doors in a marriage and true love sees through all and sees the true person. Marriage takes work but if you are both willing to work at it then all should be fine :)
  • Wow what an achievement. What are some NSV you have noticed lately?? I love hearing these!
  • Great job. You're so right. It is the little things that count and add up. I am trying to remember that after getting a bit too hung up on eating certain things and worrying about carbs. I am now back to keeping things simple which helped me to lose 20kg, have regained about 6kg. I am focusing on thinking about keeping my…
  • I have eased up on the low carb and shooting for around 100g a day but trying not to be too strict about it. I was only eating around 20g net sometimes less and it just didn't do much for me mentally. I did lose weight initially but it was all water weight and was too restrictive for me. I want to be able to go out and eat…
  • My husband is very supportive. We met when I was heavier than I am now. I was about 65kg. I got up to 72kg before I lost weight. I got down to 51kg and I am back up to 59kg after 2 years of keeping it off. Looking to get down a little bit lower-maybe lose 5kg. When I'm not feeling great about myself, my sex drive is way…
  • @MrsSchimmy- I work out at about 6pm until 7pm and I do that on purpose because I overeat in the evenings. So when I get home from my workout, I have a shower, organise dinner for hubby and I and then by then it's getting late and I'm not overly hungry but I eat dinner anyway. I don't overeat during the day as I eat low…

  • With this calculator, do you eat back your exercise calories? For example, if I intend to eat 1600 calories do I need to eat back my exercise calories like on MFP or is this the TDEE -20% (or whatever it may be) method? Thanks and great job!
  • Hi, I am new to this group. It's nice to find others with the same goals/struggles etc. I totally have the same problem on rest days. For me, I think the hormones that are released during workouts is something that seems to dull my appetite. So when I have rest days I am more likely to overeat. I tend to try and not have…
