  • I had bought a Kool Stop Tire Jack several years ago in case I ever needed it. I got some GP4000's at the first of this year and used it for the first time. No fuss, no muss. Easier with less time than fussin 'n fightin.…
  • ^^^THIS^^^ I have a pair of insulated rain pants, cycling specific, that go over the tights when it gets real cold. It's rare that I'm not warm enough, but then I live in Georgia. Mine are Specialized, they have worked every way that I've tried 'em.
  • 2 slices Ezekiel Low Sodium toast each with 1/2 tbsp peanut butter and 1/2 tbsp Smuckers spreadable strawberry spread.
  • I think a trailer hitch ball screwed into the top of the seatpost would be better.
  • Can you still do this without getting into legal trouble?
  • ^^^This.^^^ The week after I got a $10 food scale from Amazon I started seeing results. A portion size is really small. Guesses at sizing can quickly add up to huge amounts of calories eaten but not recorded.
  • ^^^^This works great for me.^^^^
  • Never. Bike specific only and always. I have one pair of bike underwear that I don't like, I prefer longer legged shorts. The brief length doesn't stay in place and it ends up as if you're riding while straddling a pool float noodle. I do wear casual shorts over bike shorts, I just don't believe Lycra was made for old…
  • Ain't nothing wrong with that gal.
  • I try to abide by #10. I often have to revert to #5. I've had these bookmarked for a long time. I do use SPD pedals on road bikes, so I commit a major violation quite regularly.
  • Good deal!!!! It's always great to fix the problem. Upgrading usually won't provide a good cost/ratio benefit. Next time you get cables be sure to get stainless, they don't cost but a bit more and are worth the difference. The drawn or extruded stainless cables are the smoothest of the bunch. Cheap cables three bucks, good…
  • An incredible rider. Unfortunately, all rides don't end well: http://dirt.mpora.com/news/legend-martyn-ashton-is-set-for-new-trial.html I wish him the best.
  • First: Ride your geared bike in one gear, about 60-70 inches, and leave it there for a week. I don't ride a "fixie", but I love my fixed gear Leader.
  • That's ita 11/34 9sp has the same hi/lo ratios as a 11/34 10sp. The only difference being that the low three or four gears might be a tooth closer to each other because of the extra cog thrown in. I wouldn't worry too much about 9 speed parts becoming obsolete. There's a lot around to last a long time. 6 and 7sp freewheels…
  • Around here it's the shops that cater a lot to tri-bike riders that rent race wheels.
  • Another giant disadvantage to aero wheels are side winds. I doubt that you would find your lakeside rides as pleasant. The biggest gain you would make with a new wheelset would be weight. The weight comes off where it makes the most difference---rims and tires. About the only place you would notice any gains would be in…
  • The chainring/cassette ratio on that Salsa looks like it could climb Washington Monument.
  • That's makin great time. No stoplights???
  • I just got a pair of these from eBay: http://www.ebay.com/itm/160938324933?var=460142082234&ssPageName=STRK:MEWNX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1497.l2649 I have used them on just below freezing rides and was pleased with them, no breeze on the fingers. I rode them in the rain for the first time today (cool, not cold) and am happy.…
  • I use the packets. One = 2tsp sugar. You're right it isn't pure it has a form of sugar in it (Dextrose). One packet gets me through three cups of coffee and I use just a bit less than a whole packet in a glass of iced tea. It dissolves in cold liquids fast and easy. And I don't find the taste offensive at all.
  • I'm new too. Giving my answers to see if I understand the system correctly. 1) Yes, you will still lose weight. It figures that you won't exercise and doesn't give you credit for establishing a goal. 2) Yes, not eating your burned calories back will affect your goal. Your weight loss will be accelerated. As I…
  • Hunt's has a no salt added ketchup. The nutrition label shows 0 sodium. http://www.hunts.com/products/ketchup Hot sauce is stupid high in sodium. I use ground cayenne pepper instead, either as powder in recipes or mixed with vinegar as a liquid. It works well to replace Louisiana Hot Sauce.
  • I'm also new and had almost the same question as the OP. I am close to, but still over my sugar count each day. It's fruit. My sugar goal is 30 and a medium banana is 14---almost half. Should I replace the sugar count with carbs in the total tracker at the bottom of my diary?? There's only six columns and I can't figure…

  • I wasn't happy with that either, but although deceptive it is sadly almost normal these days.
  • I am also new, take my advice in that light. If I am wrong, the more experienced should feel free to correct me. You can't hurt my feelings and I'm really here to learn, not to give advice when I don't know much of anything!!! I put a splash of raw apple cider vinegar (less than a tbsp) and a Stevia In the Raw packet to my…
  • The battery charger did it's job and the red light finally went to green, indicating a full charge. At 1:30 AM the charge light was still red. I thought I was going to have to return it to Amazon because of either defective batteries or charger. The charger had be on for over six hours. When I got up minutes before 7:00…
  • +1 to the CREE..........maybe I got this one just this morning: http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B006QQX3C4/ref=oh_details_o00_s01_i01?ie=UTF8&psc=1 It only has Hi/Lo/Strobe, no medium as in the description. I don't really care. I went out right at dark and Hi was fine and Lo got more and more usable the darker the night…
