I used to listen to fat burning man and really enjoyed that

@Lesly_Barrett_1209 I do Stronglifts 3x a week and tend to do cardio on the same days so that I properly have rest days. (usually Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday for both weights and running). Not sure how long you should do weights though before introducing cardio - for me, I started off easy with cross-trainer and walking…

@ncmonsalve we need more info to be able to give well-informed advice. e.g. are you weighing and tracking everything? have you already lost some weight and are hitting a plateau etc.

I would give this a read. http://www.prevention.com/weight-loss/weight-loss-tips/how-shift-your-set-point-weight This article also provides more information: http://www.bidmc.org/YourHealth/BIDMCInteractive/BreakThroughYourSetPoint/WeekOneTheScienceofSetPoint.aspx

@gcaracciolo2 yeah I do find I'm more likely to hit my net calorie goal when I've actually eaten within the time window. Black coffee helps me handle the long period without eating. I just have one in the morning. Not sure how I would cope without black coffee tbh (I know a lot of people don't like black coffee)

@dcresider what strength training program do you follow? Have you noticed a weight or inches loss difference? I'm due to measure my inches/cm loss this weekend. Rather nervous as this has been really slow in the past and it's not as "visible" as kg lost
-
@HildaInstant79 yes I've found it easy to follow. It took me 2/3 days to get used to it though, my stomach was pretty painful in the morning. Now I'm alright - when I'm struggling I have a black coffee (no sugar) and then that helps to tide me over through to lunch.
-
I've been doing it for 2 weeks (14-15 hour daily fast) and am happy with the results so far so have kept going (tbh I'm strict with during the week, but less so during the weekend). Have found that a black coffee in the morning helps me get through to 1pm before I start eating :)

Start today. Do Stronglifts 5x5. My boyfriend got me into it and some of his friends also do it. I've seen their results and I'm impressed. So I wanna get in on the action as well! I'm still calorie counting, but I try to time my food with my weight lifting (have a meal beforehand as pre-gym snack or straight after) - so I…

Yeah I eat them back. I have a net calorie goal of 1200 and lose 2-6 pounds a month (I think that's due to how accurate my logging is)
-
I think it's attainable but will be tough. Also, it gets harder the closer you get to your goal - so probably after like 30 pounds you'll need to up the ante by exercising more or switching it up (I find my weight loss plateaued slightly so I "kicked it up a notch" by switching up my diet more and doing more weights to…

I log my weight once a month in MFP because of monthly weight fluctuations (I find that my weight loss progress is like a zig zag going down, and I don't wanna get discouraged too much by that). But I weigh myself first thing in the morning 3x a week - then compare that weight to the month before.

I've got a Charge HR but used to have a Flex. Having a fitbit encourages me to move more - e.g. take the stairs, get off a stop early when I'm on the bus, pace when I'm on the phone. I aim for a net of 1200, so eat back most of the calories I burn. Not sure how much I trust my fitbit in terms of calories burnt to be…

about an 8min walk. I would go further for a gym with Les Mills group fitness classes - that's one thing I miss about leaving NZ :(

Other than adjusting your calorie plan to allow for snacks in the evenings, you could try popcorn (cooked from scratch, not microwave stuff) and herbal teas. I find the high volume of popcorn helps fill me up and the fact herbal teas have flavour means I feel like it's not just water when I drink it.

I usually ask for a takeaway box when my meal comes, then immediately put half/third/whatever (depending how big the meal is) of my meal into the box so I'm not tempted. While part of me reminds myself it's about self-control, the other part of me thinks "yay that's lunch sorted for tomorrow"
-
I also suggest taking before/after photos and measurements if possible. Weight is only one way to keep track of progress. Don't be discouraged :) I understand that recording and watching what you eat only to see very little/no progress can be very frustrating.

Drinking lots of water and herbal tea. Doesn't mean I completely stop eating junk food - but I think it has helped me significantly reduce my intake
-
Lots of water. I find when I don't drink enough water I find it harder to do a number 2. Also canteloupe and grapes :)

I saw a difference in the scale a week after I started calorie counting and exercising. In terms of a "visual" difference, I haven't noticed one yet. My clothes are looser, but when I look at myself in the mirror with just underwear on, the main difference is that my thighs have much less cellulite now than they did 3…

@healthytwentytwo I love how colourful and visual your Tumblr is. @moyer566 commented on your post. Am curious about the difference between Fartlek and HIIT (running HIIT) they seem kinda similar? @CarboUnload damn those are some very impressive before and after photos eh!

Thanks heaps for the links :)

Whoops I should have clarified - I always pee first before weighing myself. But can't always do number 2 in the morning.

apple with peanut butter (watch how much peanut butter you put on it) Microwaved kettle corn (lots of volume, quite filling) Pistachios.

@tracykreczmer I'm glad to hear your fitness routine is a habit now - that was the case for me last year before Christmas. Now I'm getting back into it. Tbh I usually dread going to the gym and half the time I have a CBF attitude before it, but I LOVE how I feel after. And that's what keeps me going. I have a blog, but not…

ooh thanks - looking up Trendweight on the app store now :)
-
Here if you need support :) losing weight isn't easy. I've lost some but still got a long way to go.
-
What he said. Also could be due to monthly fluctuations.

Welcome back to MFP @charlyam22 I looked up BBG but it didn't suit my needs - I'm finding Freeletics and tracking food in MFP is better for me.
