Just think how great you'll feel when you successfully navigate those crap food obstacles! Best of luck!!

It can be frustrating, can't it!?! My suggestion would be to open your diary and post a request for help on the forums - there are a lot of knowledgeable people on here. You do have to beware of trolls, but will likely get some good advice. Best of luck!

Glad to have been of assistance! Thanks and good luck right back at you!

Excellent goal! I've done strength training in the past and LOVED the way I felt but have fallen away from it... Maybe a goal for me for next month! Best of luck to you - you got this!

Thanks! I agree - this journey is in no way a diet - I'm setting myself up now with a lifestyle I can maintain!

Great plan! Best of luck!

Thanks! I do the exact same thing with the "see a loss on the scale, eat in response" thing. I'll have to explore if it's just a relaxation/celebration thing or self-sabotage! Thanks for the FR - We've got this!

I cook a lot from this website - fantastic vegan recipes: http://blog.fatfreevegan.com/ I also like the cookbooks "Appetite for Reduction" and "Quick Fix Vegan." Both are very reasonably priced on Amazon if not available at your local public library.

Great job!!! I agree on the "NSV dance smiley"!

Yup, I completed it last year at 200+ and ran a few races in the fall - FUN!! The goals this year are to improve my 5k time and to complete a 10k race and still be alive and vertical at the end. Planning a Warrier Dash with the DH in July. You can do it! As others said, take it slow (even if it feels too slow - speed WILL…

I see you posted on another post that you are 6'5". 1700-odd calories aren't enough to maintain muscle mass in a man your height. Check out http://www.fat2fitradio.com/tools/bmr/ - you should be doing more like 2500 calories.

Mostly vegan; damn you ice cream for your icy dairy goodness... :blushing:

When I was just starting out running C25k and was sure I was going to die in the running intervals: "Whether I can or I can't, I'm going to."

I second the recommendation for this book. It accessibly debunks many of the "But vegan is bad because..." stuff you're going to hear and provides a 30 day path with a few recipes to get you started. My favorite vegan cookbook is "Appetite for Reduction." It includes a wide variety of tasty plant based meals. This blog…
