I'm counting....I'm planning on a personal size combination pizza (430 cal) and one Coors Light (137 cal)...total = 1272 cal. That plus my nightly workout will put me safely under the mark with a couple of hours to let the body burn additional before the ball drop and sleep.

Definitely invest in a decent food scale. I got mine at Wal-Mart for I believe $18.00. If the sickness is south of the neck take some days off and rest. During the Thanksgiving holiday I got nailed with the flu and didn't work out all week. I still lost five pounds. I tried to work out right at the beginning before things got ugly and it just didn't work.

I'm with bajoyba....I routinely do 950-1000 cal burn on the treadmill and log all my food and I haven't gained out of Week 1. In fact, the weight's been dropping like a rock over the past 6-7 weeks. "If it ain't broke, don't fix it."

It's not uncommon for me to be over by 5-10 the MFP-recommended sugar intake and I'm down by 14 pounds in a month and a half. If you're exercising with any length and frequency, you'll offset the sugar intake easily.
