  • I like nugo slim and detour smart. The only ones I'll eat. Not filled with "junk" What's your goal with the bars BTW?? Any diet restrictions?
  • How old are your kids? The way I was raised, we ate what my mom bought or cooked. Period. If you're giving them healthy stuff, there's no harm in it. They need to learn to eat well and have snacks sparingly. Now, my brother truly disliked peas, must have been that way since a baby because that was the only exception.
  • Thanks! What I decided to do is change my goal is lose 0.5 pounds a week instead of one. So that added 250 calories to my diet. I then increased my protien up to 142g (tried to eat 35% at 165 today, just can't get there). The rest went to carbs. With the increased protien and carbs, I'll feel more confident my muscles are…
  • That's why I asked if people that are overweight truly need to eat at a surplus to gain muscle... Mind addressing that part of the statement??
  • Thank you so much!! I think you are correct. This is something I've been trying to figure out myself as well but didn't know what to call it. I am new to all this. I believe what I want to do is clean bulk as I am more interested in increased muscle mass. So I do need to increase my calories. I asked my trainer about am I…
  • I probably am not getting enough carbs post workout. I usually aim to eat whole grains an hour or so prior to the workout and then a protien bar snack (lately it's a Detour Smart bar, which is only 18 carbs) because I tend to hit the store after I workout. I get about 100g of protien a day. I got my measurements taken…
  • That didn't make any sense to me. Why wouldn't my diet be what I think it is if I'm tracking? I cook nearly all my food and I weigh/measure faithfully. But my primary goal is to preserve muscle and build if possible. Hopefully I lose fat but I know if I'm not eating enough, I'm going to lose muscle. That's where my…
  • I started a youtube blog and post the links on my facebook. That way, people that want to hear about it can watch the video. I've had some friends subscribe. So if they don't want to hear it, don't click the link!
  • I've had my fair share of DOMS and it never goes away just by warming up. Also, is there anything that can be done about an old injury besides surgery? My should works fine in general, that might be a bit of overkill.
  • I did legs yesterday. According to him, I should be able to do the "push" one day and the "pull" the next, which is what I did the first time we met. I was so sore (more than my shoulder), which is why I took three days in between this time.
  • I almost feel like eating back exercise calories will trigger me to exercise JUST so I can eat more junk. I know that's what I did when I was on weight watchers. I know it may not "hurt" things but my goal is to lose weight, not figure out how to eat more. So I purposely set myself at only 1 lbs a week just as a safegaurd…
  • 1660, but that's because I have it set to "sedentary" at the moment. This week at work I am just sitting down all day. I usually would be in the lightly active category. MFP is estimating my workouts are about 400 calories.
  • I have a question related to this... I don't eat back my exercise calories BUT I have MFP set to lose 1 pound a week. I don't exercise everyday. Since you can safety lose 2 pounds a week, isn't it OK to not eat them back? Because if I had set it to 2 pounds a week, it would have me eating less net calories anyway.
  • Feel free to add me! (And anyone else that wants to) I'm also new.
  • I do the same thing. I get on track and then just fall off the wagon HARD. For me, it's tied to my extremely low self esteem and being in a relationship where the person made me believe I could never be better than I am. I actually gained 30 lbs during our breakup because I since I was just "fat" anyway, what did it…
  • I eat them back. I need to. I feel so drained after working out. Mind you, I just eat more throughout the day so the numbers might not be exact. You have to know your body. Personally, I know I have to eat ALL THE TIME when I'm working out and losing weight. I mean, every couple hours I'm eating something because I am…
