Good for you! It's always good to have goals to work towards! After going through all of the smaller clothes in my closet, I have now had to buy even smaller sizes a couple of times now. I have become very familiar with Goodwill because of that. I can't be buying new clothes at full price every few months because my…

I've eaten 4 medium sized cookies today, and a cinnamon roll. Some days you just need to eat sweets!

I alternate between the two every 3-4 weeks, but prefer sumo. I easily added 20 lbs to my 1RM when I started doing sumo. I've been doing conventional for the last 3 weeks, and couldn't believe how much harder it seemed after doing sumo for about a month. I am so ready to switch back next week! I also did deficit deadlifts…

One change at a time! Stop thinking of it as starting another program. That has connotations of it eventually coming to an end and then being left to figure out what's next. It's a lifestyle change - something that doesn't have an end, but is permanent. Whether it's evaluating and changing your eating habits, or becoming…

I totally blew my calorie count for today, and I am ok with it! Unfortunately, I did the same thing yesterday. I can't let it become a habit, so back on track in the morning. I had thought about fasting to make up for it, but I am just going to suck it up and move on. And, for the record, the 3 cheese stuffed garlic rolls…

No! No!! No!!! A weight-loss plateau is defined as no change in body weight for at least 3 weeks. One week is NOT a plateau.

I found an awesome suit at the second hand store that fits me like a glove! I dropped the pants off to be hemmed this morning, but I am going to look absolutely perfect for the interview I am hoping to have in 2 weeks. It's been forever since I felt good in clothes, and I am totally rocking this suit!!!

I sooooo get this! My trainer and I were talking about an upcoming event in April we are both training for, and he was telling me that for 2-3 days before the event it is really important that I rest up and take it easy. I looked him square in the eye and told him, "Really? That's going to be really hard!" He just laughed…

What do you mean when you say plateau? I only ask because a lot of people use that word, and it's been a stall of only a few days or a couple weeks, and that isn't really what one is. Also, are you truly weighing/measuring everything you are putting in your mouth? Have you reassessed your calorie intake? I hit a plateau at…

Went to a second hand shop to see what suits they had, since I need one for an upcoming interview and didn't want to spend a ton of money on it. I found a cute one that was a skirt instead of pants, so I thought I would try it on. I was initially a bit disappointed that it was a little bit too small. Then I realized that…

I am so jealous right now!! I am working towards this as well. Congrats on getting your pull-up!! That is definitely something to be proud of!

You look great! I'm an inch shorter, and my ultimate goals are to end up similar to where you currently are. Congrats on your improved health and fitness!

In kettle bell class tonight we worked on TGUs. I was able to do one on each side with a 28 kg/61.6 lb bell! That's a new PR!!

I'm going to venture a guess and say you are going to a large, chain gym. I know it isn't uncommon for you to have to work with different trainers, based upon who ever is available, in those types of gyms. I would suggest trying to find one that you like, and do your best to schedule every session with that one trainer.…

I know there are varying opinions about working to failure, but no matter what you think about it, I think most would agree doing so consistently is bad. If you are disliking your sessions that much, speak up and let them know what you are wanting to try so they can work on coming up with a program you find more enjoyable.…

Finally got in a workout that I needed to do but had been dreading - 200 kettle bell snatches in around 20 minutes. While it was tough (and I wasn't trying to break any speed records), it felt good to be able to complete it!

And mine is just the opposite - I DID have chocolate today, and it was awesome!

I am 5'7" and my goal is 160, but that is subject to change. I picked that weight because it was what I weighed when I met my husband, and was pretty easy for me to maintain. However, lately, I have been thinking more about body fat %, and think I would rather work towards getting to 23.25%. And why this number? It is…

I love kettle bells! I've been working out with them for just under 1 1/2 years, and have lost 87 pounds so far. I had seen some articles about them, and was intrigued, so I found a trainer that uses them with his clients, and the rest is history! I'm stronger than I ever thought I would be, have started doing some other…

Worked on deadlifts today. Was able to pull 235 for 5 reps. (I had only been able to do it for 3 reps before, if I remember correctly.) The last one was really tough, but I got it done! I also was able to pull 3 reps of 210 with a double overhand grip, up from only 1 rep!

For me, it wasn't what was said that made it so awful, (although it wasn't exactly something I would have done) but who was saying it that made it so much worse. I have always struggled with body image, and even though I did become fat as an adult, I was the furthest thing from it as a teen. However, that didn't stop my…

Ran for the first time in a week and a half. I was slow as slow can be, but I did complete 5k!

One of the joys of getting older is that my periods are starting to become a bit irregular, varying from 35-45 days. I am also having more symptoms than I ever had in my 20's or 30's. This time around, I have had awful fatigue, although I didn't initially associate the two, since that is a new one for me. (And maybe it's…

Mine is my dog's nickname. Her name is Epi, but over the years, it morphed into Epi-do, like Scooby-Doo.

This would be Epi, aka Eppers, aka Epi-do. She's an Australian Shepherd, and although she doesn't run with me (she does an excellent impersonation of a drunk while on a leash), she does like to go for walks. And this would be my favorite geriatric Maine Coon, Maddie. She's 20 years old. (My son is hoping for her to make it…

Today, I have gotten back on track after over eating all weekend. The scale showed a 3 pound gain in the last 3 days, although I know that is most likely water weight. I mean, even though I did overeat, I didn't eat that much! And, now I am paying for it. I had an off-day in the gym today. I missed a deadlift that is…

Love this!

Decided not to care that I am going to be significantly over on my calories for the second time in three days. I still have a church dinner to go to this evening, and I am going to eat and enjoy every single bite. Tomorrow is a new day, and I can get back on track then.
