At this point, I don't really pay much attention to anyone else. In the beginning though, I found it a bit intimidating. As I continue to get closer and closer to my goal, it's funny to think that I am becoming one of those people that initially intimidated me!

The fact that that box of chocolates has survived a month past Christmas says a lot to me! I know, without a doubt, that they would have been gone long before now if they had been in my house. So you at a box of chocolates. So what! It's one incident on one day, and it isn't going to ruin anything unless you let it. Get…

i just woke up one day and decided it was time. I guess I just got sick and tired of always being sick and tired!

I guess my question would be, what do you mean by "real food"? I don't cut anything completely out of my diet, although there are foods I have chosen to eat very rarely for different reasons. I do the occasional protein shake, but most often eat meals I've prepared.

You don't even look like the same person! Congrats!

You look great! WTG!

It just takes time, work, and dedication. You'll get there! It's so sweet of you to say I made the pistol look easy. It's definitely work! In fact, my trainer is doing them with a 40 kg bell at the moment (working towards the 48) and it amazes me how easy he makes that look compared to mine! I have done countless squats,…

I work out 5-6 days per week. Some days I just walk or run. I work out with my trainer twice a week, and also fit in 1 or 2 kettle bell classes a week, depending upon what days I am working that week.

Amazing! You look like a totally different person!

Great job!

I don't have a fitness tracker, and I lift in bare feet, so I guess I'm not really much help. However, I did buy a pair of Van's with the intention of using them when I lift. What other options do you have that you can spend the money on?

You look great! Strong work!

I've never even heard of the 3 day rule, so I suppose my answer to your question would be no. While I have seriously cut back on the junk food, I haven't cut it out completely. In fact, I just enjoyed a fabulous chocolate cupcake with chocolate buttercream icing on it! Cutting anything completely out is a bad idea, IMHO.…

That is probably my favorite picture of me from our vacation! One of my friend's told me she thought it was a great representation of all I had accomplished up to that point. LOL! Thanks! Thanks so much everyone else for all the great comments!

I was where you are a little bit over a year ago - wondering how I let myself get to this point, and needing to lose just over 100 pounds. Don't let the 1 lb loss this week distort how you are feeling about your loss so far! Yes, it may be less than you lost last week, but it's still a loss! A pound here and another pound…

That's part of the plan, but everyone's got to start somewhere, right? The Strongfirst standard for the pistol states: "The candidate shall pause motionless long enough to demonstrate balance, then lower himself at least to parallel: “the top surface of the leg at the hip joint lower than the top of the knee,” so per the…

Thank you! And, actually, using a "smaller" weight like that makes it slightly easier for me, since it works as a counter balance. I can do them unweighted too, but it's just a little bit tougher to do. Now, if they would only continue to be "easier" as the weight increases! I've already been warned that adding a little…

I used Zombies, Run! 5K and really enjoyed it. It's another training program similar to C25K. It's 8 weeks, 3 times per week. If you just can't do it that often, stretch it out to a more manageable time frame for you. For instance, only run 2 times per week, making it a 12 week program, or do each week 2 times before…

Awesome! Good for you! I will be 45 this weekend, and just recently was able to run a 5k in a similar time. It's a great feeling to know you can do it! It sounds like a shopping trip is in order! Exercise gear is my new addiction! You go girl!!

You are not fat! You are active, athletic, and healthy. Continue to stay active so you don't have over 100 pounds to lose in anther 30 years. In 3 years, your life is going to be turned upside down. Don't turn your back on the support of family and friends. They really are looking out for you and want to help you get…

I ran 4 miles today - for the first time ever in my life! I may have been slow, but I still did it!

It's easy! Just click on the user name of the person that you want to add. Their profile page will open up and you will see their picture and two buttons. One button says "send message" and the other button says "add as friend." Just click on the "add as friend" button. You will be able to add a message to your friend…

This is SO true! We get so wrapped up in taking care of everyone and everything else, that we put ourselves on the back burner. Truth be told though, making time for ourselves is the best investment in our families we could ever make! It isn't easy to do in the beginning - I know at least for me it wasn't. I would feel so…

If you're still claiming baby weight with a 7 year old, does that mean I can do the same with an 11 year old? LOL!

* Being able to shop anywhere I want * Knowing my husband and son are proud of how I look when they are with me * Feeling comfortable in a bathing suit * Attaining the long list of goals I have in the gym (Ok, so goal weight isn't necessary for this one, but it would make some things, like doing an honest to goodness…

Worked on deadlifts today. Managed 5x1 at 235 lbs, for the first time! Max I had done at that weight was 3x1.

Jillian Michaels kettle bell form is HORRIBLE!!! Run far, far away from any of her kettle bell DVDs! If you are seriously wanting to use kettle bells as part of your workout, find someone who is either RKC or SFG certified to teach you the basics. The movements are simple, but due to the nature of the offset weight of a…

So this one is sort of scale based, but I don't really care. After weighing in today, I am no longer obese, and merely overweight per the BMI charts!! (Yes, I do know that the usefulness of BMI can be debated for hours, and I tend to agree with the reasons why it isn't the best way to measure things, but I'm still excited…

I don't think they are necessary, but I will use them as a meal replacement if I am on the run and need to grab something, or if it looks like I may not hit my protein for the day and need a quick and easy way to get a little bit more in. I like Core Power chocolate ones, if I am grabbing a premixed one. Boathouse Farms…

Awesome! I did my first, legitimate, pistol squat today! And, I did it with a 12 kg kettle bell, so it was a weighted one too!
