I too used to be an emotional eater. I think just realizing you do that is very important!! One thing I've learned is that no matter how much I eat, it never solves any of my problems. No food will ever change the bad stuff already going on! So the key is catching yourself in the moment....and stopping yourself before you…

Fruits have natural sugar, which can add up in calories.I don't count raw non-starchy vegetables such as lettuce, spinach, tomatoes, green peppers, etc. Or things like dill pickles.

I agree 100%. Part of this struggle involves planning, and lots of it. You have to buy the right foods at the store, and make time to prepare meals and pack proper lunches. It takes some extra time in the beginning but once you are on a roll, things go much more quickly and smoothly. I love that we have MyFitnessPal to be…

Maybe bake your own chips using corn or flour tortillas? I haven't tried it but I've heard it's pretty good. Or buy some baked chips in the store. You could skip the chips and put the salsa on corn and black beans, or a baked potato, or even fish. Google and see what you can find.

You look great!!! Awesome job!!

Vitalicious Chocolate tops and muffins...found in the freezer section - Organic and Natural section. Also Skinny Cow ice cream sandwiches!

When you say you have no time to prepare in advance, does that mean zero time? If you have SOME time, you could make a chicken salad with grapes....or a soup...can you throw stuff together in a crockpot the night before?

You look amazing!!! Congrats!!

I'm doing Jillian Michaels 30 Day Shred...there is a thread somewhere in Exercise just for those people doing it. I like it because it only takes 20 minutes. I'm still on Level 1, but there are two more levels once I've conquered that one. All you need are hand weights.

Good for you!! You are an inspiration to the rest of us!

I am an ultrasound tech and sludge WILL show up on an ultrasound. I'm not a doctor, but your symptoms don't seem like classic gallbladder issues. What about GERD? Maybe you can't eat large amounts because of reflux. Might want to investigate that possibility.

Give yourself a big pat on the back for just being here and asking!! You will find a lot of support here! As for your family....well if they eat a lot of junk, are they obese and feel unhealthy too? Is that where you want to be 20-30 years from now? It sure doesn't sound like it. I would experiment with cooking in the…

You can ask the waiter how it's prepared....they can always ask the chefs/cooks.

Fast food is bad for you in so many ways...and lack flavor. Cook with fresh foods at home!

You would use a measuring cup for 1 cup. It wouldn't be weight because one cup of marshmallows may weight differently than one cup of molasses. The units for weight would be grams, ounces, etc.

Why do you think you don't enter everything you eat?
-
I would go grocery shopping and fill the fridge and cupboards with healthy foods. Maybe you will get them to eat healthier if they see you snacking on apples and carrots rather than junk food. Another great incentive to move out!

We all have our own ways to try to get the weight off. That being said, I am doing it without any drugs...it's a lifestyle adjustment. You need to ask yourself if you plan on taking the pills the rest of your life. Just my 2 cents! Good luck!!

Hi Debra! I'm similar to you....Weight Watchers always worked but this last year I got engaged and married...lots of life happening with all of the food that goes along with it! ha! This time I decided to count calories since that seems to be the basic concept of Weight Watchers and their point system. I also have about…
