I make mine. I use the good seasons packets but switch the water and oil, so just two tablespoons of oil in the bottle. It gets thick and tastes great. I also make hidden valley ranch with skim milk and low fat mayo. Also good.

I find weighing every day to be helpful. It is when I quit weighing that I get into trouble. If I'm not watching my diet, I won't get on the scale so five pounds can sneak up on me. You know that your weight fluctuates up and down. Don't let that bother you if you are tracking your food and following your plan.

Try to eat vegetables in your diet. I try to have some in every meal, including breakfast. Also make sure you are eating enough fat and protein. All of those help me feel more satisfied. I also eat a high protein breakfast.

It is hard to drink too much water. Weight fluctuates for many reasons, food in your digestive tract, water retention, who knows?? But it is normal and if you're eating at a deficit, it will go down. I would bet you've also lost 5 pounds in a day, right?

I'm hoping to lose some off my boobs! They keep me from buttoning that size 12 jacket that used to fit so well! Don't worry. A healthy weight is much more impressive than big boobs. You can always buy some if you need to!:)

I agree with Nikki. It has only been two weeks. Give it time. Make sure you're being honest with yourself on food portions. Everything else will follow.

Try to keep logging your food and move as much as you can. It is the only thing that works for me. If you absolutely can't do that, then eat three meals of moderate portions and don't snack. Good luck

Maybe he just needed you to say "WTH"? I know with my husband that we have to support each other. Sometimes he is the strong one telling me to get to the gym and sometimes I'm the strong one. You shouldn't take it as an affront. Just say 'are u kidding me?'

Great! Thanks everyone for being Santa elves!

Thanks everyone for the input! My husband isn't exactly new to exercise. He was a career soldier and had to maintain physical fitness. However, he has been retired from the military for about 10 years and he recently has started working out with weights to regain lost strength. From my perspective, he needs to learn some…

Wear whatever you feel comfortable in. Confidence is what makes a woman beautiful.

Teach your daughter how to cook. The time invested will pay for itself. When I was 16, I not only helped my single mom by cooking and cleaning, I also had a part-time job and was an honor roll student. Now that you've enlisted some help, spend your Saturday, buying, prepping and cooking your meals for the next week. I…

You aren't going to feel "content" with any change in habit at first. Practice some discipline. Every time you make a positive change, you will feel better and better about yourself. Try to get out of your house, develop some interests outside of the house and eating. Eat at a reasonable deficit and move more. You will…

if you have a significant amount of weight to lose, then in my opinion and experience, you are going to have to take control of the preparation of your own food. You just have to tell yourself that you have no business eating at McDonald's every day. Not saying you can never, but remember when that was a treat, not a…

Your diary isn't open. Are you weighing and measuring your food? Logging everything? If not, you may be eating more than you think.
-
Don't consider it "starting". You are working on learning new habits and getting rid of old ones. You won't be perfect everyday, but you will continue to try to learn new habits and get rid of old ones. Be realistic in your goals. Log your food, all of it, even when those old habits sneak back. Don't stop logging your…

This is a great tool for people to not only lose weight but also manage diabetes. I'm 58 and I have had good success here. Good luck! Get some MFP friends and learn from them. You can do it. Baby steps.
-
You can add me if you want! I'm a former military wife. I log in every day and I wear the fitbit too. Between MFP and Fitbit, you will have all you need to help you lose weight and get fit. Good luck.

The best inspiration is that you are so young! You have your whole life ahead of you and you have a chance to live it in a healthy body! MFP is perfect for you on your eating plan. Maybe you can get the cafeteria to help you get nutritional info on the foods they prepare. Make it a new game to be able to track everything.…

Don't buy foods that you absolutely can't control. For me that is Cheezits. But, also don't eliminate whole groups of foods, like carbs. I think that will set you up for binging on them. Eat carbs, protein, fat - all in moderation. That is how you learn to have a good relationship with food. Not a love/hate relationship.

Try limiting the calories per meal for a while and see if you can get it under control. We've all struggled. Don't think of it as a failure of your diet. It is just one day. Just get back on it. Log it and move on. Friend request me if you want. I log every day.
-
Wow. Some people sure are cranky this morning.
-
I only logged my food for the first two weeks and then got serious about limiting the calories. You are doing it right. Learn to be accurate in logging first. The rest will follow. Good luck!

Aqua-calc.com does a ml to grams conversion for different substances. I just looked and they have frozen yogurt. I would guess it would be similar for ice cream. 50 ml was 57 grams.

Not all calories counts on MFP are correct. Some are entered by users.

This isn't what is making us fat. We are making ourselves fat. Don't buy into this as an excuse

I have. I did. I hear you. It is just one day. It doesn't define you. Big hug because you need it. Go kick *kitten* tomorrow!

I travel on a regular basis. I find it easiest if I take a large water bottle that I can fill after security. I also take a meal in my bag, such as apple slices and peanut butter or a sandwich with carrot and celery sticks. Even salad with chicken. Once even meatloaf leftovers. No need to treat it as something special as…

Bacon, lettuce and tomato on toast. With mayo. Very satisfying and 300 calories.
