  • I'm having the same problem of it resetting to default values every day or so.
  • When you link the two you only need to put the food logging into one of the two. Personally I enter my info into MFP and then it syncs that to Fitbit's site. If you enter the foods on both sites then you will end up with double entries like you describe.
  • Started Jan 2nd (ironically not even as a resolution. Timing was just right) SW: 353 CW: 337 Down 16 lbs to date. Loving Bulletproof Coffee! It has become my go to breakfast. Macros: 3% Carbs(20g or under), 12% Protein, 85% Fat - Keto on!
  • Look up fat bombs on youtube and/or Google. They will torpedo any cravings and give you a 'sweets' killer too.
  • You lose weight in the kitchen. Check your calorie intake and also gauge the quality of those calories. Lean meats, veggies, fruits (not juice) are best. Also try and get some good fats like avocado and fiber. Anything with refined sugar, white flour or starch should be a limited or eliminated.
  • There is absolutely no reason why the OP cannot continue to eat fruit. The fiber that comes with the fruit traps the natural sugars so they are much harder for the body break down and absorb. Don't believe me, fine. Get a blood glucose meter, like I have, and measure the impact to your blood sugars yourself. You will see…
  • You are doing fine, I am a larger male and I am allowed 2100-2200 a day to lose 2 pounds/week. When we get lower and closer to our goal the calorie value will drop. I expect to eat around 1800 to reach my goal. It is fairly easy to stick around 1800 today. Some days I will eat the full allowed amount. Most time though I am…

  • Never trust the values put into MFP, some users are WAY wrong when they enter the info. If you know it looks way off base you can use a site like http://nutritiondata.self.com/ to confirm the proper values. Then edit the MFP database entry so other users do not use the flawed entry.
  • the recipe tool on MFP is great. Just account for all the ingredients and figure out how many servings are in the casserole.
  • 3oz of chicken salad, 3oz of turkey deli meat, 3oz ham deli meat and an 8oz bowl of beef chili.
  • I took it a bit further, instead of allowing myself a desert a week I allow myself a single (small) bite. This is much easier for my body to take in stride. minimal blood sugar impact, so no major crash or craving later. Sugar free treats are good, beware though many use sugar alcohols that can cause other problems or give…
  • I am willing to help with ideas. I cut all added sugar out of my diet. I am 44 days into this and I swear I will never go back. I have a TON more energy, I am not longer moody, and have lost just over 30 pounds in that 44 days. Any sugar I eat is in low sugar yogurts or fruits. I use Splenda in my tea and make my own foods…
  • Honestly the only way to do it is cold turkey. The first week is the worst, headaches, fatigue and overall feeling like crap. After that week though you will start to feel better. Fruit is fine, fruit juice is not. Watch for sugars in yogurt, some are way high. Also try to swap out sugar free things for items you used to…
  • This guy is a major troll, just ignore him. Walldancer, you are awesome in my opinion. Some people get jealous of heavy lifting, You have to just ignore those haters. They just wish they could be like you. Those that whine about grunting or other noises should take their sorry *kitten* back home to workout.
  • That's funny because I like Kale in some soups. I don't think it deserves the pedestal it is being put on compared to other veggies. I still like to eat it though.
  • I'm with you Quinoa is just nasty. I also do not care for bell peppers of any color. I will eat them if included in a stir fry, but I would eat any other veggie over them.
  • I am hoping this is the case. :-)
  • I agree, it is not child abuse when the cheap foods are engineered to make people desire larger quantities. Food manufacturers should be held accountable for the engineering of foods that have little nutritional value, but high desire for taste and reactions in our brain that we have little to no control over. We could…
  • I would not have given my kids a phone at 8 years old for a few reasons. 1. They are rarely without an adult that has a phone. 2. The additional cost of the added phone (about $50/month after fees and other crap) 3. The drama, I gave each of my kids a phone at 13. I would have waited until 16 to bypass the middle school…
  • Just click on her name in the forums here and click the add a friend button.
  • Because tattoos and piercings make you a pothead or stupid?!? Take your idiotic judgments and go crawl back under your rock.
  • A one pound fluctuation is nothing to worry about. Now with that said I do have suggestions if you want them. If you don't then just toss them away, your choice. I would eliminate or severely reduce anything with the following. White flour Refined sugars If you want breads or buns make them whole wheat, not white. No…
  • Agreed, people on here should be supportive and have useful information or they should go away. I normally do not participate in these boards much anymore because there are too many trolls. Which is really too bad.
  • I was thinking the same thing. Are we going to quote the National Enquirer next? Huffington Post is a fluff rag, find something with real science backing it, not some guys blog. That said, I still eat eggs on a daily basis and it has never impacted my cholesterol levels. I have cut them and eaten them and there seems to be…
  • You would be wrong.
  • Quote: Gee, the food industry makes highly palatable foods. How EVIL of them. How EVIL of them to force them down our throats....wait. You'd probably say the same thing to an alcoholic too huh? Same triggers apply. Not everyone is an alcoholic, just as not everyone is a sugar addict. So do not judge others just because YOU…
  • I have the same issue with refined sugars. What I did was cut them all out of 3 weeks to let my body kind of reset. I replaced the 'sweet fix' with apples, clementine oranges, pears, things with natural sugars. After a week I found that I did not crave sweets anymore. It is just a matter of flushing those sugars out of…
  • "People"do not know what they are talking about. You averaged 3.2 pounds a week, that is just fine for you (or me for that matter). When we are larger we can safely loss more weight a week than someone who does not have much to lose. You should be EXTREMELY proud! Do not let anyone tell you are doing anything wrong, you…
  • I am not working out. Why, because I don't have to . . . yet. I am losing weight just by modifying my diet. So why spend time in a stinky old gym?
