Hi! I am 31 years old and I would really like to cut back on how much sugar I eat. I have no problems with portion control but I seem to always eat sweet things and this causes me to have pimples, feel tired and moody, and I also keep gaining weight. I would really like some people who could keep me accountable and even look at my journals and give ideas on how to cut back!!

Hi Tishi. I'm trying to keep myself on a low sugar diet cause sweets are my weakness, I really crave them. And I think sugar is the biggest culprit in my weight gain, how hard it can be to take off, and in making me generally inclined to have little self control with portions and carbs. If you'd like a pal in trying to eat less sugar, let me know. Thanks, cheryl0

I am willing to help with ideas. I cut all added sugar out of my diet. I am 44 days into this and I swear I will never go back. I have a TON more energy, I am not longer moody, and have lost just over 30 pounds in that 44 days. Any sugar I eat is in low sugar yogurts or fruits. I use Splenda in my tea and make my own foods and sauces with Splenda as well. I firmly believe that white flour is a big culprit too. Simply because it causes a blood sugar spike after consuming it similar to sugar. You are welcome to look over my diary if you want.
I was pre-diabetic so I had a bit of motivation to fix myself. I now have normal blood sugar levels and they do not spike from foods I eat. I went to the extreme (I am data driven) and measured my blood sugars 2 hours after eating something to see the impact to my body. This requires you to poke yourself in the fingers a lot, but it really lets you know how your body reacts to certain foods. This is not for everyone, but it worked well for me.0 -

Hi - please feel free to add me as a friend. I'm in the same boat in terms of sugar. It would be good to have others who are struggling the same way to help out.0

The less you eat sugar, the less you crave it. You just gotta get through those first few days. Allow yourself a dessert week and if you are craving fruity candy, sugar free jolly ranchers are 35 cals for 4 of them and they are awesome.0

I took it a bit further, instead of allowing myself a desert a week I allow myself a single (small) bite. This is much easier for my body to take in stride. minimal blood sugar impact, so no major crash or craving later. Sugar free treats are good, beware though many use sugar alcohols that can cause other problems or give you the runs.0
