One alternative you can try to gain strength is to do them up against a wall. Stand back a bit and lean on the wall, push back and repeat. Once you do these for awhile, the ones on the floor should become easier.

That's funny. I have never heard of this thing, but have been using an "old lady walker" that was in my basement for workouts the last several months. Works great!
-
Welcome and good luck - feel free to send me a friend request if you would like some support!

I do my workouts before the kids get up in the morning - 5:30ish. I do the workouts on bodyrock.tv when I am at home (website). They are very short, very intense, and do not require much space or equipment. I have had good results with these. Good luck!

Nuts like cashews or almonds are my go to food when I am having hunger problems. They always fill me up. I agree - Definately eat.

Will keep you and your fellow Londoners in my thoughts! Stay safe!

I agree with the poster above about not exercising every day. I only work out on MT and ThF - that way, I tell myself - It's only two days - I can do anything for two days. I have had really good results with it. Good luck!

Feel free to add me if you would like. We all go thru times like this - some worse than others! Don't forget to read your profile page - it can remind you of why you started this. Keep the things in mind that help you feel better and add them. It is all worth it! You deserve the best!

Instead of a crust, you could use some shredded veggie or veggies that have been sauted first over the stove. We made some mini ones this weekend in a muffin pan. They were really good. -sauted ham and veggies (whatever you like) divided into muffin pan sprayed with cooking spray -pour egg mixture (9 beaten eggs, milk,…

Like your post! Great work on your journey!

You mention you like eggs - we just made some mini quiches this weekend. We put some shredded potatoes and whatever other veggies appeal to you - we cooked them over the stove first. Then divide it in muffin pan sprayed with cooking spray, fill cups with beaten egg and bake (we did it at 400 degrees for about 25 min). We…

You can do it! I just turned 39 the other day and have been going thru the same thoughts you have for the last several years - my metabolism took a natural dive when I turned 36. In the last several months since joining MFP and changing the way I eat, I have lost all that awful weight I have been carrying around thinking…

I feel ya - We celebrated 8 birthdays and an anniversary this last weekend. I turned off my healthy old self and enjoyed the festivities - Life is all about balance, and I know any damage I did will be fixed in time. Take it in stride. I noticed that I was not able to eat as much bad stuff this time around since I fill up…

Fruit smoothies.

I hear you should drink lots of water, move some - maybe take a slow walk to loosen up the muscles and work out the lactic acid, and maybe some gentle stretching. I try these things too - they don't take it all away, but it does help! Good luck!

Welcome! You should not have a problem finding positive support here. I am also a stay at home mom of 3 - older though. Feel free to send a friend request if you would like!

I won't use either. Jillian Michaels has one at Walmart that uses stevia. Also, there are some at health food stores - I use one by Biochem Sports, that is flavorless and can be added to anything that does not use artificial sweeters or any kind of sugar.

If you have kids that might enjoy it - we sometimes make mashed potatoes that look like ice cream scoops, make a hot fudge looking topping out of ground beef, veggies, sauce, etc, then top it with a cherry tomato. In the end, it is supposed to look like a hot fudge sundae. Hope I didn't make that sound too gross. It's fun…

You deserve all great things that come your way! Great job!

So true! Think of all the effort we put into keeping our material things nice - None of that should matter if we aren't healthy to enjoy them!
-
That's really awesome that you were drawn there. Something I need to remember next time I am stressed!

I agree with Myssylydia. Try to add some strength training and build some more muscles - might help break the plateau. There are a lot of home workouts you can do - lots of them free on the internet. Try BodyRock.tv as one example.

Love the youtube video - have to confiscate all the scissors around here!

I recently found this site too. I have added her workouts once or twice a week to what I was already doing and have been very happy with the results. I think her workouts are fun, they use your own bodyweight for a lot of the exercises, which makes it individually challenging. Also, if you put your max effort into them,…

I like to saute it in a little oil and add salt and pepper for a veggie side.

Whenever I am starving, I eat a carefully measured ounce of cashews or almonds. They really make me feel full so I can make it until my next meal.

I don't know how much help I can be, but I read your story and I feel for you. All I can say is take a deep breath, or lots of them. Make some choices about what you really want in your life, figure out what path will take you there, and follow it. Write it all down, share it with the people you love and who can support…

Check out a website called bodyrock.tv - she posts new workouts several times a week - it is free, and uses very little equipment - what she does use for equipment can be modified from things around the house. The workouts are very short, but very intense. I have been getting great results!
-
I agree with your trainer - lifting weights builds more muscle, this new muscle will burn more calories, weight loss becomes easier. Good luck!
